Immaturity? Closed-mindedness? Pot... meet kettle.

You opened the door for a wide array of responses by asking an open-ended question. Some have answered it from the perspective of how much/little Vince values Christian. Others (like me) tackled the issue of Vince's desire to preserve a "surprise" like you discussed. And others, much to your dismay, have questioned whether Christian's career is "ruined" at all. Your inability to see the relevance is your own failing.

I think starting threads might be too much stress for you, bro. Stop freaking out about everyone's responses and just focus on the ones (like mine on Page 2) that do relate to your question. Spend more time replying to those and keeping the discussing going, and less time crying, and I PROMISE you that you'll enjoy this a lot more.

i thought i posted already. oh well. i dont think that vince cares what we have to say. where is your proof that it was suppose to be christian? i dont get why people on these forums always take rumors to be true. not bashing the op btw. matt hardy was probably always going to be the guy. it was a way to change his character and make a fued that had a lot of emotion in it. hardy failed as a heel, but it was worth a try.

so in short, we have not hurt christians career at all.

btw, to the op, you post was the first time i ever saw that hardy was going to face christian at wrestlemania. i dont think that would have ever happened. i think its just wishful thinking on your part.

Look buddy, you need to calm down...people have different opinions. The point of a thead is not only for someone to post about what the OP says, but also what other people say. If you feel tbat the ICW killed Christians career, then so be it. But other people may tyink differently. So, calm yourself.

I thought it was called the IWC? Ahh, fuck it. But no, I don't think we've ruined his career. Sure, we may have put a damper on it, but these things happen to everyone. This isn't like the 80's where nothing gets leaked. Jericho's return was leaked. Jeff leaving WWE was leaked. So of course something big like the return of Christian was going to get leaked. Christian hasn't become world champ because of Vince's issues with him. If he was going to be a main eventer, it would have happened already.

LOL at this.

Do I think we (the IWC) indirectly ruined Christians career? That's the question right? Right? Let me know if I'm incorrect.

Of course not. Christian is having a very healthy and fulfilling career from where I’m sitting. He’s been in the business a long time, he has peers and colleagues that respect and notice him, he has legions of fans (peeps if you will) and he’s held a bucket load of championships. He’s wrestled in both the big companies around today, prevailed through the Monday Night Wars and has held the NWA World Title twice. You may not agree but all that equals a pretty successful and decent career to me.

Now, do I think Christian can still go even further? Fuck yeah. I can see a World Title in his future, he’s a great talent and could easily hold a World Title feud with nearly any one on the roster. I think he will have his day sometime but even if he doesn’t it certainly doesn’t mean his career has been unsuccessful by any means.

He’s a future Hall of Famer and will be remembered as having a great storied career whether he ever holds a WWE World Title or not.

The IWC may be the most vocal fanbase, but in no way are they the biggest. To think that they had something to do with what happened to Christian is laughable. People try way too hard to somehow make the IWC responsible for what happens in the WWE. Not even close. Vince determines what's happens, not a bunch of people typing on their computers having dicussions about it. And as for Christian, as has already been said, Vince just doesn't see him the way we do, or most do. He doesn't see him as main event material and because of how Vince views him, that's where Christian ended up. No doing of the IWC, just Vince being Vince.

I think there's a reason why guys like Paul Heyman, Eric Bischoff, and Hulk Hogan have made negative comments about the internet wrestling fans. And there's also a reason Vince completely ignores us (when he's not having Michael Cole make fun of us with at Daniel Bryan and Kaval's expense). They all respect the internet wrestling fans, but they don't take outside opinions. Because as much as we like to think we're a big deal in the industry...we're not. We're actually the minority. Because if we weren't, WWE wouldn't have lowered its ratings to capture a younger audience. Vince is a businessman, and if the internet fans had the majority opinion, that's who he'd be trying to please. But we don't buy his product...and that's what counts.

Do I think we ruined Christian's career...? No. Do I think Christian ruined his career? Not really. It's well known that Vince has never been high on Christian. He put up with him because he's a huge friend of Edge, and that's about it. He never considered Christian a big moving part of the whole TLC angle. And when he left the company and wound up in TNA, he pretty much sealed his fate. I think Vince hired him back because he's a good worker, makes him a decent amount of money, gets a positive reaction...and he could teach the locker room a lesson by putting him in ECW and letting him rot there as the "champion who doesn't matter". Now he's on Smackdown...and I really don't see him going anywhere. We didn't ruin Christian. Christian didn't ruin Christian. For some reason...Vince has just never been a huge fan.
