Did Vince miss an opportunity to make it big?

IN MOVIES?

I was thinking.. WWE are doing movies now... and have been for a few years now. They all pretty much suck or are B movies.. but lets be realistic about something..

Muhammed Ali movie that was made with Will Smith did OUTSTANDING numbers.. and was nominated for many awards...

The Wrestler did awesome numbers and also was nominated for many awards too......

Sooo since Hulk Hogan IS without a shadow of a doubt the Muhammed Ali of Wrestling.. why not make a movie about his life? Much like the movies above.. the Wrestler proved that a movie about wrestling will sell if done right and movies like Ali would too.

At some point Hogan will be back in WWE (not to wrestle) should Vince use this opportunity to make this movie?

Will it show a new side of Hulk never seen before? Who would he get to play Hogan? Ali was in the media a lot back in the day and yet his movie sold big time even though a lot of people knew his story. I think a movie about Hogan would do the same if done correctly. Vince could finally have his first break out movie and make a lot of money from it.

What do you all think?

I don't know. As of now, they can't make that movie. They don't own the right to Hogan's name or likeness. And if they did they would put a negative outlook on Hogan. And they'd probably have Cena play him.

And honestly, a Shawn Michaels movie would be better. I don't care about your personal feelings about the guy, but he has a pretty great story.

Honestly, I don't think Hogan is coming back to the WWE AT ALL anymore. He's too busy waisting his time in TNA and I believe that is where he will stay until he either gets too old, or dies.

should Vince use this opportunity to make this movie?

Knowing Vince, he won't want to do a movie about Hogan, who previously (and now) worked for TNA. Let alone hire him. Just make the comparison. Christian was in TNA for a while and even became champion, yet, when he returns to the WWE, he doesn't get squat, Vince doesn't like him and I think his run in TNA has part to do with it. Vince doesn't like anyone who "betrays" him in general. There was even speculation that JR's phrase "The world is watching" was pulled from the intro (of WWE) becuase he was at MGM to support Lesnar in his fight against Carwin. So therefore I doubt that there will ever be a movie of Hogan from WWE studios.

I wouldn't like to see this happen, I think a movie about Hogan wouldn't be that great.Plus this wont happen because of Hogan working with TNA, it wouldn't make sense to bring out a movie and leave off the final part.Vince wouldn't put TNA in anything and I don't think he would be allowed any way.So this will not happen and isn't something big that Vince missed, with Hogan being in TNA it wouldn't make sense to bring this movie out and leave off the finish.

Hulk Hogan movie would be alright but like someone earlier said it would probly have a negative vibe 2 it and I 2 think a Shawn Michaels movie would be better he has a better story 2 tell. HBK's story is an original type of story with him fulfilling his boyhood dream but gettin on drugs breakin his back and all they way up 2 his redemption. It really would be a better story than Hogan.

However heres another one: Bret "Hitman" Hart another very good story 2 tell

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THOSE TWO EGOS WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET I T DONE OBJECTIVELY. THERE ARE A DOZEN GUYS IN WWE OR ON GOOD TERMS WITH VINCE THAT WOULD WORK. THINK STONE COLD , THE ROCK, UNDERTAKER, THE HART FAMILY, THE VON ERICH FAMILY. ALL THOUGH I WOULD ENJOY IT MORE AS A DOCUMENTARY, WITHOUT A RE-INTERPRTATION OF HISTORY. THERE WAS A BRET HART DOCUMENTARY "WRESTLING WITH SHADOWS" THAT WAS DONE WELL. SOMETHING LIKE THAT WOULD BE MORE APPEALING TO ME, BECAUSE I JUST CAN'T SEE ANY ACTOR PLAYING A LARGER THAN LIFE PERSONA LIKE HOGAN.

They're finally doing a movie on the Undertaker. If done properly, it can turn out to be the best, and the one which finally hits mainstream and becomes well-known. Just like his gimmick was, this can be their finest creation so far.

nw it would be a good concept, showcasing his days as terry boulder to his movie career all the way to the nwo. the perfect ending would be the first time he put back on the red and yellow following his lose to the rock. it would be great to see the rock and wrestling stuff again

First off, Hogan is never going back to the WWE. EVER. Now to the point... he didn't miss an opportunity because most people don't give a shit about Hulk Hogan. He may be the most well known wrestler ever but that's only because a lot of people who don't follow wrestling have heard of him. I'd love to see a movie on somebody like SCSA or The Rock, not Hulk Hogan.

I never even considered it really, but thats because i lost interest in Hogan years ago. Ali movie made sense, as he is one of the biggest Icons in Sports ever. and the Wrestler, was more about wrestlers in general who wrestle past their prime, and all the stuff they had to deal with.

As stated earler, the Undertaker movie will be GREAT. Always been one of my favorite characters, and seeing a movie about that character will be amazing.. If done right i might add.

Why dont they make a movie about Hogan? Because he is currently with TNA and at this stage of his carreer will likely never be back to the WWE besides if they did make a movie about him then I am sure they would make him look evil.

Should they? Yes they should. WWE films has a piss poor track record and don't have any mass appeal. Making one of the most recognizable names and face on the planet the subject of a bio pic is just smart business.

Will they? Highly unlikely. Vince is a very vindictive man who can hold a grudge like no other. I doubt him and Hogan could agree down the middle on how the movie should go.

if they did it well I think it'd be highly successful at the box office. To those that think HBK would be a better choice let me remind you that little kids to grandmothers worldwide know who Hogan is. Outside the wrestling world Michael Hickenbottom is an unknown and Shawn Michaels is a porn star.

Who to play Hogan is a good question, 6'7" 300lbs actors with over the top personalities are hard to come by. The only person I can even think of is Matt Morgan and that's even a stretch.

Good post.

I don't think it would be a good idea because anyone trying to play off Hogan would suck at it, have to much of a neg. vibe to it, plus yeah Hogan had a big career but nothing to really have a movie made of, it would only be good to watch if it was a TV special thats about it no big theatrical presentation.

There are many wrestlers that could have a movie made about them.

A Hulk Hogan movie would be good, but a movie about Shawn Michaels would be better. Perhaps a movie about Bret Hart would be even better than either of them.

I heard a possibility of a Gorgeous George movie, that would be pretty good especially if William Regal played George.

Well I think there is a market for movies in WWE. However, there is already a biography about Andre the Giant, and a classmate of mine from high school is playing him, namely because the dude playing him, Daniel, at the age of 14 was already 7 feet 5 inches tall. It wasn't a WWE movie even, it was a local Kansas movie. I think there could be a good genre for maybe the stories behind the legends. I for one would LOVE to see movies of Bret Hart, Ted Dibiase Sr, Sherri Martel, HBK, Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes, maybe even the McMahon family. I think there's a way to do WWE films and not make it the Hollywood machine of comedy/glitz, and use it to enhance the history, and still preserve the past, and not cheapen the image. Supposedly, there was talk of HHH, and HBK doing some 'buddy' comedy like a National Lampoons Vacation type road trip movie, that would have been an amazing thing to see.
