Pre-Show Stalwart
i always thought of Diamond Dallas Page as a true innovator and an underrated under appreciative wrestler. he helped plenty of wrestlers like raven and scott hall propel their careers. his diamond cutter was awesome, although used by other wrestlers like johnny ace, it was rare in the states. what do you guys think about DDP?

One of my faveourite wrestlers of all time and one of the reasons I watched WCW.

His match with Goldberg at Halloween Havoc 1998 is one of my faveourites.

I never followed WCW that much, bu i knew of DDP and always really enjoyed his work. Even the badly executed 'Stalker' angle could be forgiven based on what preceeded it, and the hilarious 'Self Help Guru' gimmick.

I'm watching Monday Nitro from 12-1-97 as I post this...

DDP just made his entrance for a title shot at Curt Hennig, and I can't believe how over he was. I remember him being big, but this was astounding. The moment "Self...high...five..." cued the music, the crowd went frikkin nuts...The second he hit the ring and put up the diamond and did "Feel the bang!", the crowd exploded...It was amazing...

DDP has probably become the most forgotten about star of the attitude era, the dude was big in WCW and I rarely say this but WWE killed him I think.

I was never a huge fan of his but he was underrated in terms of what he meant and did for WCW. Outside of Sting, DDP was probably the most over face in WCW during the NWO times. One moment that sticks out is when NWO was trying to recruit him, he was in the ring with Hall and Nash I think and he put on the shirt like he was going to join the NWO and he shook Halls hand then out of nowhere he grabbed him and diamond cuttered him. The crowd went absolutely ballistic. He was actually one of the few wrestlers that can say he was never part of any of the NWOs. In fact I think him, Booker and Flair are the only main event caliber wrestlers that wrestled in WCW during those times that can say that.
