Announced for Destination X will be at least one BFG Series match, this one between long time rivals Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe.

It should be a solid match but I'm not overly excited about it. Joe's stock continues to be pretty low and he continues to generally dwell within the Land of Mediocrity. Joe is someone that was a big deal in TNA once upon a time and is really on in the BFG Series as someone to ultimately put over most of the bigger names & score an occassional win for himself. I don't see that being any different here. I'd say Angle will take the match around the 15 minute mark via submission to earn 10 points.

Initially I got excited about this match, but Joe really has faded out. I thought they were going to let him shine again, but it just doesn't look like he will ever reach his former status again. I was/am a big fan of his and hate to see his character remain stagnant, but I see Angle getting the win here in an average match.

I wish TNA would get their shit straight and give Joe another run at the top. Dude gets a great reaction, puts on good matches with the right opponent and need some good clean wins to stay relevant. I admit, that bullshit face paint change was garbage but they can start over. The match with Aries was as excellent as their ROH matches were and Joe and Angle never disappoint me.

My match of the night, unless they give the world title belt to Aries.

I'm interested in this match. Mostly so I can see if Joe still has it. I suspect he doesn't.

It's another overused match but I'll be intrigued enough to see if it in any way compares to their previous encounters.

 

[Lowdown]

I think Joe can still be a top guy on the roster. This looks to be a good match on paper. It would be something I would pay to see. I think angle gets the win here, but by a hair.

 

[Dagger Dias]

I'm not all that interested in this match, and I blame it on how Joe has been booked in recent years. Angle will likely get the win so that he can get some points for the Bound For Glory series, which he is MUCH more likely to win than Joe. If Joe wins then I truly will be surprised. This match just doesn't interest me much. I'm paying far more attention to the X Division tournament, the World Championship match, and even the Styles/Daniels match. Angle wins and both move on to their next random filler feud. Hard to believe what was once one of TNA's best feuds is now a somewhat boring filler match. I can see it going on around 2nd or so, so that they can get it out of the way.

lol another match that when I came on here I thought "really?". I don't mean to be a dick, I really don't. This will probably be a pretty good match. Just that I haven't seen TNA in a while, and now I come back and it's basically Joe vs Angle and Daniels vs AJ again.

I thought this was the second best match on the show behind the World title match. The spotty stuff is not my thing and Joe and Angle brought some quality smash mouth and submission wrestling to the card, the finish was nicely done.

Is Joe actually getting a renewed push?

I love how the general consensus building up to this match about how it would play out proved to be dead wrong. Not trying to say "I told you so" or anything like that, I was expecting the same thing and I'm VERY happy to have been proven wrong, hopefully Joe will continue to get pushed into a final 4 spot in the BFG series at least.
