Dana White - RAW Guest Host?

Uncle Sam

In here because MMA needs the traffic more.

So yeah, you know how Raw has guest hosts every week at the moment? Yeah? And you know how Dana White is a person with at least a decent amount of hosting abilities? Are you seriously not following me by now?

And he could maybe bring someone with him. Name rhymes with Crock Reznor.

Obviously, Dana, Vince and, um, Crock would probably be quite reluctant to come to such an agreement, but I think hilarity could ensue. With sexy results.

You know, I don't think there could be a better choice to host Raw. Not one.

However, it'll never happen. While from what I gather Dana and Vince respect each other deeply (or Dana respects Vince, anyway), I think Vince still views MMA and the UFC in particular as competition, and he would never allow someone he thinks could hurt his product's fan base come on his program and plug a show. Also, Dana's potty mouth hurts him as well.

But I think maybe one day we'll get someone affiliated with MMA to host a show, if the shtick last for long. For example, it's not far fetch to think a fighter (Rampage, Liddell, Forrest, GSP in Canada, or even Gina) to host a show if they have a new movie or TV show coming out. But no... I don't ever see Dana White on Raw.

I doubt it's going to happen anytime soon, because the WWE views the UFC as a threat at the moment. They're doing very well at the moment, and it's experienced a boom. It's got to the point where most people I know, know about the UFC, and quite a few respect it 'because it's real'.

Anyway, if the UFC were to become less of a direct threat to the WWE, then it could happen for sure. It'd help RAW get a huge rating, quite easily past the 4.0 mark. Most UFC fans would tune in to see what was happening, and it would get a lot of attention for both the UFC, and the WWE.

Also I think UFC wont want to associate too closely with WWE, because from personal experience a lot of people like it, and prefer it over WWE for the fact that it's "real", and while Dana White appearing obviously wouldn't change that, it does associate the two companies together which could insult the fanbase a little bit.

I really doubt that Dana White will ever & I mean EVER become a guest host on Raw. Vince pretty much views UFC as competition & there are a hell of alot more people that prefer UFC over WWE just cause of UFC bein' real & all that.

So pretty much the chances of Dana White bein' the host are pretty much 0%, but if someone else from MMA were to do this whole guest host thing, then i'd say the odds on that are about 50/50, but who the hell knows at this point.

Dana would be a great host, he has a natural charisma, and is a legit booker for a real sport. At the same time, however, that is exactly the problem. Why would WWE want to have the booker of a rival promotion come on, especially when that promotion is essentially the real version of professional wrestling? The other big problem is that by associating himself with WWE Dana White would draw further parallels to himself and Vince McMahon, which Dana doesn't want to do. Furthermore, Dana doesn't need the promotion, either. UFC does great on PPV, and is only getting bigger, Dana doesn't need the promotional help from WWE, and WWE doesn't need further comparisons to MMA. As entertaining as this could be, It won't and shouldn't happen.

I can actually see this as being a great show. Let’s say Dana is the Guest Host for a week. I would have Dana in the ring, saying something along the lines of “Vince, get your @$$ and your Champion out here right now. I have a challenge for you. One on one with you in Cena’s corner and me in my Champions corner.” Then a familiar entrance theme song plays and it’s the “last” Big Thing, Brock Lesnar!! I miss that entrance. Anyway, that would be a great match. I would of course have it end in a draw somehow with interference from CM Punk and Christian, claiming they are the number one World Champions respectively. Then next week, it’s announced that Brock, himself is the Guest Host and the Main Event is the rematch inside Hell In A Cell. Has there ever been a HIAC on Raw??

I'll agree with the MMA experts and say this will never happen. Not in today's world of MMA. White has his own product to worry about, and there's no reason to try and cooperate with wrestling.

10 years ago, I'd say this would be probable, and in all likelihood, a sure thing. For a while, WWF/E was promoting UFC like crazy. During Ken Shamrock's rise to the mid-card, UFC was getting commercial time, the commentators were talking about it, and UFC was getting tons of buzz. Then they brought in Dan Severn, and then Shamrock and Owen had the Lion's Den match. It would have happened then, but it won't happen now.
