SHALL WE BEGIN?
So its announced that Santino will be facing one of three legendary IC title holders. Honky Tonky Man, Klunderbu...er I mean Goldust, or Roddy Piper.

Well. If there was something I couldnt give a shit less about, I would love to hear. We have already seen him matched against Rodney The Piper. So hopefully that doesnt happen. Honky would probably be funny, but little in way of a match.

Now Goldust on the other hand. THAT could be fucking hilarious. And I am intriguied getting to see the character again. My vote will be going to him, as he to me gives the most interesting scenario. Although there is ZERO chance of Santino dropping the belt to any of these three.

Vote, lament.

Out of the three I would want Goldust to win, but Im pretty sure Honky Tonk will win. Goldust the character is so fun and weird that I think he & Santino would be able to pull of some funny promos before the match. I also think the match itself would be a riot will goldust trying to flirt with Santino, and Santino freaking out. I myself will be voting Goldust. Also if he get's voted in the match hopefully the WWE makes a funny backstage promo with Goldust & Cody Rhodes, not ackknowledging straight up that their half brothers but some kind of ineuendo.

This is the first time in forever that WWE has actually given us some real choices. Piper is a legend, but HTM is Santino's target right now, so i'm not sure. Likely they'll both appear though. I'd say I want HTM the most to hopefully end this stupid angle in a match of the kings of stealing wins, but I'm not going to be entertained either way as Santino will go over and this will continue likely into next year. Goldust has almost no chance. He's hardly a legend. Piper and HTM are though, so I'll say HTM, but Piper likely will.

Hopefull yit is actually the wrestler chosen who gets to fight Santino as opposed to Charlie Hass dressed as the legend in question.
As for the choices, we have already seen Piper against Santino so I don't want to see that again.
The match with Honky is to soon, The Honk-a-meter will only be about 10 weeks when Cyber comes around and for the meter to be relavent Santino needs the belt for at least twice that so I feel that Honky Tonk Man should be saved for a a few more months when Santino starts getting close to the record.
So that leaves Goldust as the only choice in what could be a comedy classic.
Not expecting a great match but could be fun.
Santino retains regardless of who he faces.

of course it should be Goldust. If Goldust came back with his stuttering gimmick after he got electricuted by Evolution, the possibilites would be so gold if he and Santino did a skit. It would be litterally ROFL material plus Goldust is the only guy out of the trio that can still put a decent match without breaking their backs.

Out of those three options, I see Goldust being more likely.

If they were going to use Honky Tonk Man in this program with Santino, I think they would need to save it for a little later on when he gets a little more closer to beating Honky Tonks record, if he ever does, which I doubt he will.

Goldust would make for a funny segment, Goldust coming out and being all weird and Santino gets freaked out. I love Goldust, I think he is pretty cool. I thought he was great when he was with Booker T.

He's already had a program with Piper, so I don't see that happening again.

I think Goldust will win this vote.

Hello everyone here at WZ, this is my very first post here. I plan to participate frequently and post high caliber, considerate posts, In hopes to eventually reach the prominent status of "Slyfox".

Not completely sure if your asking who I want to be voted in, or who I think will get voted in. I would want the Honkey Tonk man to get voted in, and be in the match against Santino. It appears to be the most coherent and rationale choice of the three, seeing as Santino is doing the "honk-a-meter" deal, that relates to the Honkey Tonk man.

However, I believe the audience (or WWE itself, if the votes/polls are rigged) will choose Goldust, for whatever reason.

First of all, welcome to the forums nobody4rap. Enjoy your stay.

Now to the topic,

Piper- He makes no sense as a choice, and is the least likely to actually win, but is possibly the fan favorite.

Honkey Tonk Man - He makes the most sense as a choice, with the Honk-A-Meter going, so the fans may want to see him VS Santino. Haven't seen him in years, so I don't see him putting up a huge fight.

Goldust - He jumped back to the WWE, so this could be his welcome back match. Now, I can see some fans voting him in, as he has the greatest chance of winning. However, I still don't know how he'll fare in the voting.

Regardless of who gets voted in, I'd think that Santino still retains. Probably will be a pretty poor match too (unless Goldust is in). It will probably end with another Rollup of Doom just as the legend is getting the upper hand.

My question is, What's next for Santino?

Santino Vs. ???

Roddy Piper - I don't think Piper would be decided upon as a choice as it seems as the obvious choice that he won't be involved. But then again... weirder things have happened.

Goldust - Goldust would be the best decision I think. Dropping away from TNA/Black Reign and coming back as Goldust would make for a more exciting match, as Goldust is more innovative in his moves. Also, what better way for Goldust to come back and win... gold? Also, Goldust's little brother Cody is also involved in the WWE. Interesting storylines later on.

The Honky Tonk Man - The most obvious choice with the Honk-A-Meter in play, but not the most exciting match.

I think what would happen is Goldust would be picked, and the Honky Tonk Man comes in with his guitar and hits Santino with the El Kabong! Goldust picks up the win ala a Kurt Angle/Samoa Joe match.

Goldust would be the best choice for this, but Honky Tonk man will get this one. Because then Santino will say that he has beaten the Honky Tonk Man, and he's going to beat his reign too! I liked Goldust for some weird reason, I thought he was entertaining. And I would like to see how Santino would sell The Shattered Dreams. :lmao: But I think that they will get Charlie Haas to act as whoever comes out for some reason, and then shock the world and win the IC title from Santino. But that would only happen if WWE wants to take a swerve, but why not have another comedy champion?

I doubt very much that we'll see anybody other than Piper as the opponent in this match. The poll in this thread hints at Honky Tonk Man. It's probably the option WWE will push the most. But I would never underestimate the popularity of Hotrod. The bigger star of the three. And unlike Honky I can imagine him coming in and losing. Would Honky really cooperate? He's one of those wrestlers who's very crytical of WWE, and he strikes me as the sort of guy who takes himself very seriously.

Its too soon for Honky Tonk Man. If they are gonna go with this, they need to bring him in after the streaks gone a lot longer. They did Piper, so I'm thinking goldust, which would be funny as hell. Besides, does anyone remember how Honky's amazing reign came to an end? A 44 second squash at the hands of The ultimate warrior. So when Santino breaks this record, he will lose it in even less time to the ultimate haas.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, when I talk about how "fake" these polls are. I see people talking about Roddy Piper being a legend and the biggest "fan-based" pick. I see people talking about Goldust being the oddest choice, but arguably the better one to make for the most unique situations. But when it comes right down to it.. this is W.W.E. pre-picking before anything happens.

Santino is currently running up the "I'm the next Honky" storyline. Of course Honky Tonk Man is going to be the guy. It's stupid, it's lame and the match will be likely utter crap. I bet Honky is as big, if not bigger than Big Dick Johnson by now. Seriously, I doubt he works out.. and I'm pretty sure he doesn't wrestle on a basis.

I'm with NorCal on all this though.. Goldust would be a great option. He's the most "in-shape" of all of them, and he adds what could be the single greatest match on this entire card for entertainment purposes. Santino is a crack even without Goldust.. just think how great they'd be.. TOGETHER!

What's Honky gonna do? Sing his theme song? *yawn* What's Piper gonna do that he didn't already against Santino before?! Lame. Goldust is the best choice for most unique match.. but Honky will win, because that's what it's building up to.

Santino will get over, regardless. Creative's in love with him (just wish they didn't sacrifice the IC title to get it)

Rodney The Piper (lol): Good chance of winning. Piper did some good skits earlier with him, and it would hurt to see him work one more

Honkey Tonk Man: Probably has the worst chance of all. Younger fans won't know him, and compared to the other, he hasn't got a big following.

(I'm predicting Santino's gonna call him this) Goldiedust: Got a good chance of winning here. Definately some good promo work here if set up.

The Honky Tonk Man is claiming that he may not be able to wrestle Santino Marella should the fans vote for him at Cyber Sunday. Honky received an injury earlier in the year when he was wrestling on an indy show, and caught a guitar shot in the finger which required 18 stitches. He is claiming the injury may require surgery which would prevent him from wrestling Marella at the PPV.

Hmmm. Does he really need his finger for what's going to be a 2 minute long comedy match? I think somebody might be more concerned about his popularity. After all Piper is a bona fide legend, and Goldust is still going to be recognisable to most fans. Unlike Honky Tonk Man who's not been in WWE for about 6 years, and hasn't done anything of note in nearly 20.

I'd really like Honkey Tonk to just drop off the balot.

The only match that I'd want to see out of Honkey is a Guitar match vs Jeff Jarrett, which again would only last a minute.

I'm going to regress into how much I want Goldust in this match, as he is the only one who can carry a decent match among the three choices. All three would be comedy matches, but Honkey and Piper would likely be really quick. At least Goldust would make it look good. That is until the Rollup of Doom!!! No one can beat the Rollup of Doom!!!

It needs to be Goldust. It is far too early for the Honkameter thing to end, Santino already did an angle with Piper, so I voted for Goldust.

However, how do we know that it won't just be Haas coming out pretending to be one of these three guys? I hope not. Haas is funny as an imposter of everyone but he shouldn't be in title matches as an imposter rather than himself. I'd want Santino to win either way, just because he hangs out with Beth Phoenix (the best diva!)

Tim: I can definitely see Haas simply dressing up as whoever wins the vote and taking on Santino, but to have his whole gimmick run right now with the IC title doesn't seem to fit. Also, Honky Tonk Man recently said he got injured during an indy event and wouldn't be able to perform at Cyber Sunday anyway. I'm almost sold that it'll be Haas though!

Goldust FTW.
Love the whole gimmick.. him coming back and scaring the hell out of Beth & Santino would be great. Even though seeing the Honky Tonk man would be kinda cool, but yeah.. I pick Goldust to be the opponent, hopefully taking the belt back, that'd be awesome.

If Honky would actually agree to put Santino over, and at least attempt to put on a decent match, I would pick him.

However, he probably won't, so I'm gonna agree with everyone else and say Goldust, who is the next best thing. He would be entertaining to see again, and I'm sure that Santino will have soem hilarious comments for him. Not to mention he could put on a decent match.

I agree that Goldust and Santino would pull out some funny things together, but Goldust won't win the title. If he does come back, it will likely only be for this one match. Not to mention they're not going to waste Santino's streak on Goldust. Good ideas though.

I must say, that this match has me interested. I love Santino and the guy has been absolutely gold on the mic as of late. His promo on Raw this week was hilarious and his costume was just awesome in every way. He is in top form on the mic, but he needs to be given more wrestling time with opponents that are current wrestlers. But what the hell, a Santino pay per view match will always grab my attention.

The 3 options are intriguing as well. Roddy Piper is one of the choices that has had a little rivalry with Marella before. But the match will be horrible, and Santino has nothing else to prove against him, me thinks. I doubt he will get voted on anyway as he appears on Cyber Sunday almost every year now and it gets a little repetitive and boring after a while.

Goldust is an option that actually seems popular here on the forum. The more I think about it, the more I like the possible matchup. It would be hilarious and entertaining so I really hope Goldust actually gets a chance to wrestle Santino as it sounds unique and fresh, which is always a good thing.

But also, theres the option on the Honky Tonky Man. Santino has been dissing him for months and has even gone as far as making his own "Honka-meter" to prove how long he has held the Intercontinential Title for. 10 weeks and counting. I feel the WWE are pushing for this matchup and the fans will most likely vote for this one too. It really is a tough choice though between this match and the Goldust one though.

Either way, I'm happy for Santino to retain here after a fairly short bout. It will be a comedy match and nothing more. I feel Honky will get voted in here and will lose to Santino before beating the crap out of him. This is a filler, but it seems too entertaining for a filler. I am personally looking forward to it.
