Cyber Sunday or Halloween Havoc??

Mighty NorCal

SHALL WE BEGIN?
Halloween Havoc should be our october PPV. fuck cyber sunday. You may as well go with a theme, if your going to use old WCW/Dust Rhodes ideas, you should use Halloween Havoc. They always had badass sets, good atmosphere, and go along with everyone's most immensely overrated holiday, Halloween. I feel as if Halloween Havoc could have a much bigger feel than "no chance whatsoever anything important happens here cyber sunday".

And before you pop off like a moron saying "but NorCal!!! the voting thingy is kewl!!" well. uh, hello, they can do that at ANY PPV. In fact, I have lamented that the concept is better suited for "armageddon" is it is chaotic, and crazy, with unusual "end of days" obscene wildness going on. Its also a type of "end of the year" gift to the fans, and something they can cap off the year with not changing much.

Halloween Havoc >>>>>>>> Cyber Sunday

convince me otherwise

I'm not going to. I agree with you Cyber Sunday sucks and should be scrapped. They've offically done away with the online voting for it, so why the fuck is it still called Cyber Sunday, what's cyber about it. They should just call it 'Text in to see Stone Cold Stunner the Hell out of Everyone Sunday'. Anyway, your suggestion that WWE use WCW's Halloween Havoc instead of Cyber Sunday is better than anyone else's idea about what to use there, and there shouldn't be much problem with it as WWE already uses one of WCW's old PPV's, GAB, but I doubt it's gonna happen soon. Vince seems to love these concept/gimmick PPV's now. Aside from the upcoming Cyber Sunday, we also have One Night Stand, where every match is a gimmick match, Night of Champions where every title is defended, No Way Out looks like it's going to have EC matches regularly, and there's also the possiblity that Vince might want to use the scramble idea again for next years Unforgivin. Add in Royal Rumble and Survivor Series and just about every PPV has regular gimmick matches or stipulations or somecrazy thing happening. Personally, I think WWE should just scrap Cyber Sunday all together and not replace it with anything. But if they were to replace it with something, I'd go with your idea.

Oh dear God, Halloween Havoc without question. Vince McMahon needs to swallow his pride and realize that Cyber Sunday sucks almost as bad as prior incarnation "Taboo Tuesday" and the idea of The Dudley Boyz vs The Undertaker main eventing a pay per view.

Havoc was one of the most well booked and brutal events on the WCW schedule for a while, and "Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal" was epic. Whether it was Vader vs Cactus Jack in the Texas Death Match (AMAZING!) or Jake Roberts vs Sting in the Coal Miner's Glove Match, the event straight up DELIVERED.

Nobody can convince you otherwise. It's indisputable. :)

HH was just great. It really made you think somethign weird was going to happen. Cyber Sunday's name doesn't even make sense anymore. Its on texts now, not cyberworld. Besides, Cyber was ECW's idea first with Cyberslam. Halloween havoc was an actual unique ppv. There was always a screwed up gimmick match that was all kinds of fun. Throw in an inferno match or buried alive and it fits perfectly. The graves with the inside jokes on them were great. I seem to remember there being a grave on one of the that said Here Lies Kay Fabian that I still crack up to to this day.

HH all the way.

Cyber Sunday is a fun concept, but it's a failing concept. Essentially, this pay per view has jumped the shark this year with the pay to vote concept. Congrats WWE for being fucking ******ed beyond measure. So the best thing to do in a recession is to charge people to participate with your company, great business move.

Cyber Sunday is a lame set anyway. A giant Keyboard, pretty dumb. The WWE could do wonders with a Halloween themed pay per view and pay per view set. Plus, like irish said, Spin the Wheel Make the Deal is most closely related with Halloween Havoc, so that would work well. Just incorporate Cyber Sunday into Halloween Havoc, oh and scrap No Mercy altotehr.

I have to agree. Halloween Havoc would be more entertaining than Cellular Sunday or No Mercy. I would also bring back the War Games match. War Games was one of the most popular matches that WCW ever had. It could even be used as the Main Event for Survivor Series.

Not to get off topic, but while we're talking about changing pay per views, I would also cut the number of them down to 8 or 9 a year. That way they have time to create good storylines and feuds because I don't know about you all, but it's been years since I saw a pay per view that was filled with good matches from top to bottom.

Well, WWE could use a Halloween themed PPV, so I guess Halloween Havoc could make a return aslong as Cyber Sunday (Which is more like 'Mobile Monday' for the Aussies since PPVs are on Mondays here) gets canned.

If Halloween Havoc was to return, I will disagree with MachoManiac with having the War Games match for a title shot. I don't think it would be good. I think it would take some significance away from the Royal Rumble if there was to be two matches were someone would have to outlast everyone else to win a title shot instead of just the Royal Rumble.

War Games should not be brought back, but the concept of Halloween Havoc should.

This year Cyber Sunday lost all meaning by not being able to vote online. I would love to see Halloween Havoc replace Cyber Sunday for next year. Halloween Havoc was one of the best WCW Pay Per Views and has has some memorable matches and my fav match Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio (Belt vs. Mask Match).

If WWE brought Halloween Havoc back it would bring back some great memories.

I could not agree with everyone more. I absolutely LOATH Cyber Sunday. I don't really pay any attention to the RAW before hand either because they usually suck. The main reason why they suck because you don't know what the hell they are building up for since the majority of the matches the fans supposedly pick the opponents.

Congrats WWE for being fucking ******ed beyond measure. So the best thing to do in a recession is to charge people to participate with your company, great business move.

Actually it is a great business move because they know that people are still going to vote regardless even if it does cost $0.99. They may get less voters than before, but that's not the point. The point is that they are going to get money either way.

Historically, Halloween Havoc was always one of WCW's highest grossing ppv. It's had a themeset. It had a scheme. It was in the month of October. What else could you ask for. The ppv practically writes itself. And it's a whole lot better than having to build up some sort of unforgiving grudge just so that it could be at a ppv called "Unforgiven" or to have a screwjob ending at a ppv just so that you can have a "backlash" the next month. Who writes this shit? Kevin Sullivan? And please do not get me started on how NON-cyber Cyber Sunday was this year. Would it have been too obvious to call it Text-For Fee Sunday or 1-900-Sunday? That would have been a hell of alot more fitting.

And it would have been a hell of alot more fitting to have a DIVA'S COSTUME CONTEST at a ppv called HALLOWEEN HAVOC! To have it at something called Cyber Sunday almost makes it seem like you need to go steal your parent's credit card and sneak to your room and lock your door to watch it. And make sure to have Kleenex on hand as well.

So yeah, my votes goes for Halloween Havoc. It was classic. it was honest. It was made for October. And it was The Great American Bash's little third cousin removed, so you gotta let it in. GAB will vouch for it. It's old enough. lol

You my friend are right. The October pay per view should be Halloween orientated considering that is bassicly what the whole month is about for everything else. Cyber Sunday has nothing to do with the spirit of Halloween or anything, and i think its bullshit. I don't even enjoy the concept of Cyber Sunday where fans vote, but it's different so i guess we could keep it. If it was my decision I would make the pay per view Halloween Havoc instead of Cyber Sunday only keep the concept of it with the vote for the match type and shit. So yea i believe Vince should wisen up, and make the pay per view Halloween related.
