While typing up my other Crossovers thread, I mentioned Robert Plant making the switch to country for a single record that was so highly touted it demanded a world tour. It got me to thinking of all the other crazy duets we've seen over the years. From Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow, to Eminem and Elton John, to Ozzy, and you guessed it, Miss Piggy. What is your favorite, and why?
Just as I'm a sucker for a good cover song, I'm also a sucker for people crossing genres and trying something new. One "unusual duet" that caught my ear was Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire. I've always been a fan of Clarkson's, but when she took her album and added in one of country music's most well-known voices, it really changed the mood of a lot of her songs.
I was also a big fan of the U2 and Green Day collaboration, even if it did only last for one song. The song was perfect for what had happened in New Orleans, and the crowd reaction when the Saints returned home to that song was outrageous.
