Could Randy's character progress tonight?

Could this be an indication that there will be some sort of interaction between Punk/Orton/Austin?
We all know in a way that Randy's 'viper' gimmick stems from Steve Austin's 'texas rattle snake' gimmick. You can identify this by his mannerisms, the similar finisher, and by the way he uses his mind in the ring.

What I'm saying is do you think in some sort of way Randy's character will further tonight? Maybe he adopts some new trunks and a black vest. Or maybe Steve Austin will finally pass down the ass-kicking, etc. down to a new star who will get the same reaction and could possibly be better at it that SCSA?

No. Why would they want Orton to don Austin's clothes and start to act like him? And Orton will never be as good as Austin. So. . . no.

Dress and act like Austin? No. Create a new branch to the Viper gimmick? PLEASE! I think using a Stone Cold promo to progress Randy's character would do wonders. I know Orton has lost steam, and what better way to light him back up than mix him in some work with what some believe is the inspiration behind Orton's gimmick. I feel that any work between these two would be nothing but progress. If you add in CM Punk, it's a sure fire win for somebody's character. It may be Punk, it may be Orton, but either way, it's gonna happen.

It's more likely that Orton will cut the same type of promo, have the same type of match, and try to punt somebody (either Otunga or Ryan) in the skull. Nobody will see it coming, I'm sure... I don't see Orton's character making any sort of change leading up to Wrestlemania. I feel like the WWE's method has always been "if it aint broke don't fix it. And if it is broke, it's probably Matt Striker's fault".

How is Orton's "Viper" gimmick anywhere close to Austin's "Rattlesnake" gimmick?

Firstly, you say his mannerisms. When did Austin ever lay on the mat, pounding his fists, or "stalk" his opponent while sliding around on the mat on his belly?

Secondly, you mention similar finishers. There is a big difference between the RKO and the Stone Cold Stunner. Also, its not like Orton adopted this finisher when he became the Viper, he has always used it.

Lastly, you mention the way they use their mind in the ring. All this means is they are scripted to look smart. They have a term for those who take charge in the ring, they are called "Ring Generals" they decide how the match flows. Triple H, HBK, Hart, Rock, Taker..etc..have all been called Ring Generals, does that mean they could pull of a "Rattlesnake" gimmick too? No.

As for you saying that Orton may have new attire that is a take off of Austin's attire, that would just be stupid. Orton may be able to play the part of the Viper, stalking his opponent, striking with the RKO out of nowhere, but that has nothing to do with him being like Austin.

Austin's gimmick was more of a rebel, "I do what I want, when I want to", "F*** authority" gimmick.

Two totally different gimmicks, two totally different people doing them.

Why do people keep saying Ortons gimmick is direct from Stone Cold... The two could not be further apart in any way shape or form!! Orton is Orton, if he is like anyone then its likely to be Jake the Snake Roberts with the mind games, but thats it! Anyway, can't see Austin getting involved, although any storyline he does get involved with, sorry if he does... Then they will get a major rub! Without doubt.
