Corre - heels or tweeners?

First off, my apologies if someone has covered this before. I'm pretty sure it hasn't but aways better to cover my rear just in case. That being said...

Would you guys consider the Corre a heel stable or a group of tweeners? Also, does the term "group of tweeners" sound a little gay-ish? Oh, sorry. Getting off topic.

Certainly, Wade Barrett is still playing up the bad-guy role but considering a.) how he was forced out of Nexus, b.) owned up to his actions while leader of Nexus and c.) apologized to John Cena... it certainly seems like they're going a little Wolfpack-ish, don't you think?

Let's just say the 19 year old in me was hoping the Corre would have beaten the Nexus on Monday.

What say you cats and kittens?

It all depends on whether or not they were responsible for beating up Teddy Long. If they did it, they are heels. If not, they are tweeners. I think the idea is that we aren't supposed to be sure of their intentions just yet.

If they're responsible for beating up Teddy Long, they're faces in my book.

BA DUM BUMP!

But yeah, I had forgotten about that. I also had to think of what the announce team had said during the Edge beatdown - Edge attacked them first.

It's nice that they aren't a direct Nexus clone. Not having a bonafide leader for them is something different than usual. It helps to show the dictatorship that is the new Nexus.

I dont even think WWE has the slightest clue with what the want to do with Corre. Whatever happens with the Teddy thing will probally tell you, plus the fact that not too long from now Undertakers gonna show up so I guess they are the heels.

They're going to be heels. There is nothing good about Wade Barrett or what he does. Last week they got involved in the Edge-Justin Gabriel match, and they pledged their allegiance to Vickie Guerrero, the most hated person in all of the WWE.

We have barely gotten a chance to know The Corre and they are already off to a bad start if fan outreach is something they are interested in. They are heels through and through.

this same question has been bothering me for a while now!!

right now, theyre tweeners for sure! i mean thats what its playing out like to the fans, whether wwe writers want it or not... althou id love to see them as a face faction and feud with new nexus, and still be a inter-promotional feud, cena could be the 5th man the corre lacks and it would probly boost smackdown ratings having punk, nexus and cena show up every friday (or at least every other).. this obviously will never happen but it be nice!

truth be told theyll probably be heels to set up the taker vs barrett match thats rumored for mania.

I think they should be heel. Barrett is a natural heel. plus they took out Edge and the Big show who are two of the top faces on Smackdown(next to mysterio and taker) plus, like already mentioned they kind of helped Vickie who is extremely hated by the WWE Universe.

Though i do like that Barrett is considering himself the leader of the group and its not all about him anymore like it was in Nexus. It was nice to Gabriel vs Edge. hopefully we see slater and Jackson get some matches to. With Nexus it was mostly Barrett wrestling with the exception of when Slater and Gabriel were tag champs

I see it in a two-tier kind of situation.

First, while on Smackdown, I think they will be strictly heels. They've still been doing the beatdowns and not above taking shortcuts (Gabriel victory). I see them doing the sly, devious heel thing and acting innocent when in fact they are devilishly manipulating and underhanded. Plus, with the rumor for now being that Taker wants Barrett as his opponent for Mania, we'll have to have a heel Corre. I see it as heel enough to be heel, but just "cool" enough to sit on the outskirts of tweener-dome.

Secondly, I have a "however". When facing the new Nexus, I can see them being the tweener/face faction. Punk's new Nexus team is just outright, down and dirty heel and I see the Corre, especially being newer and their direction not quite solidified yet, getting more of the cheers in their meetings. It's going to be one of those situations that people say "Wait, aren't they heels? Oh, who cares, we hate Nexus" and just cheer them because they don't want Punk's team to win.

No, they are still full out heels. They attacked Edge on SD!, and they maybe attacked the GM. The only reason they got some cheers on Raw is because they were going up against CM Punk, who has major heat right now.

I'd have to say, if the writers have them feuding with the new nexus at mania they will be faces as I believe the heat CM Punk is garnering as this weird cult-like leader is gonna make the new nexus the heels in that story...if we have Barrett vs Taker at mania then they will definitely be heels. In conclusion, they are the perfect tweeners lol!

You know, this is a great thread. This is a perfect, "Mirror Has Two Faces" kinda scenario. Yet on RAW these main former Nexus members were persecuted and reviled as heinous people for what they did (mind you more of the anti-Cena crowd LOVED them though.) In the end, they say absolute power corrupts absolutely. As Wade said in his SD interview, he got the taste of the high life and got that tunnel vision. However, when it came to CM Punk's rules, and the 'Initiation Ceremony,' Gabriel and Slater were considered faces for not wanting to be a part of Punk's version of Nexus. So at that point everyone liked that.

A few days later, on SD, Wade fights Big Show, and Gabriel and Slater come out to his defense. Then people hate them again. Then Big Zeke comes out, after he'd been gone a while and doing some justice after he'd been decimating McIntyre before he took hiatus, and you think he was gonna help the Big Show, no, he helps Barret and Co. Then more disgust. But, after the explanation of how Barrett came to grips with what he realized he did wrong on RAW with the Nexus, he realized that it was something he could not do again, and realized he was in the wrong for. He described this new regime, and that it was an equal faction, and no leader, it was a brotherhood of equality. Even on RAW this past Monday, Barrett made an apology to Cena, genuine or not, chances are, if he was still in charge of Nexus, wouldn't have happened.

Teddy Long comes out (SD 1/21/11), the guys could've threatened them like old days, but they stood and listened. I know the Teddy unconcious thing is supposed to make them look like that bad ones. If you look at it, this will probably be something to be used to have them be the suspects because they were the most opportune ones because of past history. They really didn't have THAT much to gain just yet from Teddy being out. They still could've made an impact with or without Teddy's choice. I really think this brand switch will be a more morality play for them. At this point they are straddling the fine line, and are tweeners as much as that word annoys me. But even to this day some of the greatest wrestlers have been that same word. That's my honest opinion.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've been trying to watch them with an open mind and a lot of their actions and promos don't come across as full-blown heel. Like on Monday with the Nexus and Cena thing, I don't recall them really doing anything heelish. Even when Cena was refereeing their match, I almost felt sympathy for them when Cena tried to screw them over. (Afterwards I went around joking that Cena had turned heel.)

Either way, I'm glad they're going in a different direction with them and not just making a clone of Nexus.

Heels on Smackdown, Tweeners on Raw. They are obviously the big heel faction on Smackdown right now feuding with Edge and likely attacking Teddy Long and aligning themselves with Dolph Ziggler and Vickie. They are also feuding with Nexus on Raw with is the biggest heel group in all the WWE. This is the first time I've ever really seen something like this where a superstar/group is a different type of character on each show. I could easily see them getting pops and boos on Raw but on Smackdown, these guys will be booed mercilessly especially being somewhat aligned with Vickie. I like what WWE is doing with guys. It gives them the potential to use these superstars in either role and it works great. So, I guess I would say more heels than tweeners, but I don't see tweeners getting boos anywhere. It's a really odd but new thing they are doing. I'm looking forward to where WWE is going with this group.

it depends on what they do right now their faces in my book even if they beat up long. does it even matter orton and cena are considered faces but some people hate them. corre is probally on that fine line
