Congratulations America, You dun FUCKED IT UP!

The Cold War has lasted forever, in that it never ended. The war we're engaged in now involves economic interests, and because of it we're forcing a proxy war in Syria between rebels -- who are backed by ISIS and the US -- and those loyal to Assad. Russia won't just launch a nuclear weapon because we took a bigger piece of the world economy's pie, but they'll most certainly flex their arsenal if we continue to encroach on nations like Syria.

The Cold War lasting so long is due to neither side being dumb enough to fight the other. It is a lose-lose for both sides. Flexing their force against the US would be a very bad decision and not one the UN nor NATO would like.

Hillary wants Assad out, Donald wants ISIS out. Donald's plan has the least amount of chance of escalating into a world war.

I'm really confused by why you think Hillary wouldn't have done anything about ISIS. Trump's plan is him saying I know more than the generals and lets commit crimes that violate international law (seizing oil fields). What a great plan. We want Assad out because he attacked his own people with (I think) chemical weapons. We know removing him won't really solve much but he needs to go. They are creating a humanitarian crisis. We want to stop that. Putting our troops in would not be smart (cost, lives, time). Backing rebels is smart even though the outcome might not be what we want.

ISIS is a lot of things, mainly they're a group of wealthy men who were foolishly allowed to congregate while being detained at Camp Bucca back in 2009, but they're also a group that is galvanized by their hatred toward the Sykes-Picot Agreement, and beyond that they're a fun way to justify dropping bombs anywhere in the middle east.

The last thing the old guard wants to do is erase a convenient scapegoat like ISIS from existence. I think that Donald wants to engage in the futile task of beating ISIS, and I think that Hillary wants to engage in the nefarious act of manipulating ISIS to justify destabilizing foreign economies. I'd rather have a noble idiot than a deceptive warhawk.

Okay wow. This is truly ridiculous. Show me proof. Show me anything that says Hillary just wants to play with ISIS.

Oh good grief; if lying really offends you, then I'd be shocked if you voted for anybody.

Politifact (a very good source) made a nice comparison chart of the things Trump and Hillary have said. Trump has a huge number of lies and pants on fire (their rating system, if you're not familiar with them) while having very few truths. Hillary has a huge number of truths and mostly true while having few lies. I'd post it but I'm on mobile so you can find it yourself.

I'm not an idiot. Politicians lie. Trump lied a shit ton while Hillary lied a little bit. That's a big difference.

If you were truly interested in Donald Trump's health care plan, you could spend ten minutes reading it off of his website. Albeit; it's not the most detailed explanation of how to provide nation wide healthcare, and it'll likely run into the same problems that the ACA ran into in terms of premium rates. A few key things I noticed are the ability to fully deduct insurance premiums from one's taxes, the ability to accrue a health savings account that can be passed on to future generations, the ability of insurers to compete on a national scale and incentives for states that expose Medicaid fraud.

Healthcare is really complicated and Trump still does not have a clear plan on it. What he does have is bad.

Across state competition for insurers sounds great. It's not. Insurers have to tailor their plans for each state (sometimes they have to specifically plan it per county) and a lot of companies already operate in multiple states. It is hard, even for giant health insurance companies, to enter a state they are not already in. It requires a ton of money, time and negotiating with hospitals to operate in a new state. So an insurance company in Texas would not be able to all of a sudden offer coverage in Ohio.

There is a danger that goes with this as well. An insurance company might just offer a bare minimum package in another state which will attract young, healthy people. This will allow those companies to avoid making specific plans. This will cause two things. Existing coverage in states will be priced lower and cover less. The current health plans will soar in price due to sick people and less coverage. Ultimately this will cost a ton.

The savings account already exists.

His other plans are assuming he is going to follow Paul Ryan's plan. Which would be bad.

Donald Trump is a moron, that much I can't deny. He wants to "save" the coal industry, which is a really fucking stupid thing to say. Even members of the oil industry who lobby against legislation to reduce pollution acknowledge that coal is an obsolete form of energy production.

A silver lining to the dark coal smog cloud that is Donald Trump is that he is willing to negotiate policy with anybody who has his ear, and he tends to lean toward whatever option will enhance his image. It doesn't matter if what's being suggested is the complete opposite of what he had proudly boasted previously, he's cool with you as long as you're not screwing with decisions based on his real estate investments.

If Donald is shown the writing on the wall in terms of how deep our nation will go into debt if his tax breaks are passed, I think he'll relent and change his policy in spite of the risk of looking like he made a bad call. Am I grasping at straws here? Yes, but I'm a demented optimist.

Demented optimist and idiot. Very fine line between those.

The Paris agreement is weird, from what I could research it's apparently the smallest step that could possibly be taken among a group of nations that would otherwise have no incentive to stop polluting the atmosphere. It's an extremely small step because there really are no penalties embedded in the agreement for nations that renege on their promises. If a nation really wants to impose sanctions on us for not signing on, then that'll only embolden populists.

There are no current punishments because it is purposely ambitious. It also is following a long line of agreements and protocols that have been adopted. Those policies have been followed. I'm in a class where we have talked a lot about it. To someone from the outside, it makes no sense. If you actually learn about, you'll get it. They are thinking of adding punishments to force Trump to follow it. They also are thinking of adding something that lets the US states choose instead of Donald unilaterally saying no.

Getting international deals done is really hard. That's another reason no punishments were tacked on.

The US provides aide to developing countries so they can go green. They need help because growing nations need a lot of power. This is a small part of the overall budget so eliminating it won't help anyone. We are the world leader in climate change. We help lead these talks and agreements. That ends now.

We've already signed it. We cannot leave it for at least 4 years.

I believe in my heart of hearts that Donald will eventually admit that climate change is real, I believe that his tweet that suggested that China created climate change as a hoax was just him being facetious.

Well except the head of his EPA administration said climate change is bullshit. Trump is 70. He isn't changing his tune anytime soon.

Hey Moon Knight, I don't mind the red rep but I'm not exactly sure what you meant.

Are you saying Hillary is the only one who said she would use nukes (which I already explained what that really meant)? If so, you're wrong.

Trump has said he would not rule out nuclear weapons. http://time.com/4437089/donald-trump-nuclear-weapons-nukes/

Trump also said he wants more countries to have nuclear weapons (and then lied about it). http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...-trump-wrongly-tweets-he-never-said-more-cou/

Looking this up took like 2 seconds. Try it sometime.
