Colin Delaney receiving a push?

Well Colin Delaney is deffinately an interesting wrestler and storyline. I mean, if he wasn't being squashed like.....a squash ball, had a tan, bigger build, and could wrestle (he might be able to, maybe we can't see it cause he is a squash) then I suppose he could be something better. Truth is, colin is the ultimate underdog of storylines..... except this underdog doesn't tend to win his matches.

Colin is only a petty storyline, I dont believe he will ever become anything decent, sadly because of his size.

i'm pretty sure colin's won a match now rite? wasn't a tag match with dreamer? neways i'm rdy 4 this guys push. he seems pretty talented considering his tag title match. i'm also rdy 4 this guy 2 git an entrance theme and the ecw contract.

I stand corrected. Delaney and Dreamer did beat Miz and Morrison on the 02/26 ECW, so technically he has won a match. However, I was referring to a singles win. On this week’s show in a backstage segment, even Dreamer said something to the effect “Sure Colin hasn’t won a match yet.”

They will need him in the 24 man battle royal, they need to fill those spaces and he's definitely eligible seeing as he's far more popular than most other available choices.

We all know now that he didn’t make the cut. I thought he could have been used for comedic purpose if nothing else, maybe to get Khali over the top rope. It’s a moot point now because the 24-man Battle Royal isn’t on the televised Mania card anyway.:disappointed:

So, who do they decide to push? The skinny kid who looks like he'll die on impact from one more stiff shot.

I have nothing against Colin Delaney, seriously I like it because sadly I'm probably about his size. It makes me feel good to think I'm actually a bit bigger built to be honest. But the sad fact is, "I" know "I'LL" never (likely) be a Professional Wrestler for the W.W.E. that could do anything more than be squashed on Friday Night's by the Big Show. So with that said, what does Colin bring to the table? Absolutely nothing.

Why is he being pushed? For what purpose does this serve? For what reason is it being thought after? Is it punishment for all the actual talented Superstars like Benjamin, Burke and Morrison? I'd assume so. This push is saddening. And the truly horrible part is, I can't wait to see who he actually defeats to win this contract.

I think you’ve hinted at the reason he’s being pushed. His whole gimmick is that he’s this young unknown skinny local kid that more than anything wants to be a WWE Superstar. I think they are trying to send a message to the kids that if you have heart and determination then you can make your dream come true one day. Why Colin in particular? From what I gather, Colin was in the right place at the right time. The guy they originally picked was “too big”. So I guess if Khali is used and pushed for his size, then it’s the same thing with Delaney but in reverse. Plus if nothing else, it gives Dreamer something to do now.:)

I vote the Undertaker.. seriously. He needs to go over someone who'd honestly kill him in real life, its the only way to make people understand how completely out of their f*cking minds they truly are.
I can see where you’re coming from with that logic, but the day Colin Delaney pins the Undertaker is the day pro wrestling dies IMHO. That would require the ultimate suspension of reality. I see him getting his first win against someone like Palumbo (who lost to Noble multiple times) or Noble (who lost to Hornswoggle multiple times). Colin going over either of those guys would be more believable.

The angle w/ colin reminds me exactly of the Mikey Whipwreck angle... where a skinny nobody ends up getting a win after weeks of non-offensive moves... and instead of Cactus Jack its Tommy Dreamer...

I wouldn't be suprised if Dreamer and Colin win the tag titles... or Colin win some sort title by a quick school boy pin...

Remember Mikey Whipwreck was ECW World Heavyweight Champion in 1995

I think this angle was GOLDEN, but WWE has a more legitimate feel to it than ECW did (and I loved the Dub), I jsut don't think anyone's buying that a non-contracted wrestler would be around for this long, give him A win then let him resume jobbing duties, cos he's damn good at it!!! Or hell give him and Tommy the belts, anything to bring back some prestige to the titles.

I think they need to hurry up and give him a win already. This angle had become stale over a month ago, and any momentum and excitement on him finally sneaking out a victory has gone. If they want to capitalize on this whole story and take it to the next level, he needs a victory fast or no one will care anymore.

Compare what happened to 123 kid and barry horowitz. Both had similar storylines. 123 kid was given a surprise victory and they ran with it. later, they tried the same thing with horowitz, but he had been jobbing for so long, when he finally won a match it just didn't have the same momentum or interest.

Well, now that Colin Delaney has won his ECW Contract, I can see them giving him a little bit of a mini-push. The guy has a little bit of talent, but we don't get to see much offense from him, because he's a huge underdog. I think eventually he'll go into obscurity and never be seen on TV again, but for now they'll give him a push to make him a new generation Mikey Whipwreck.

They ''push'' wrestlers like that for a while, get bored and release them. I don't see the point. Why not just have him as a jobber with a name. No need to put him on the website. Just have him on TV each week, or when they need him, and have him lose. Everybody remembers The Brooklyn Brawler & Barry Horowitz anyway. With a physique like that it's not like anybody will ever truly get behind him anyway. He's a novelty character, and like Hornswoggle he'll only have a limited shelf life.

Well, it seems that Mr. Delaney's "push" has given him two consecutive losses, one right after the other. And while at that, Armando Estrada is finally wrestling. Colin kind of reminds of Zach Gowen back when he was in WWE. The underdog gimmick is unoriginal and boring.

I hope he does not get a push. There are already too many Midcards in the WWE. It doesn't make sense to mee that they waste time on these people, just for them to disappear in a few months. Push Morrison, Benjamin, Kingston, Punk on ECW, not some skinny white boy with little talent and no mic skills. Its an hour long show, and they waste too much on him. How unbelievable was it when he had that choppy win over Armando? was that believable? Armando its ripped (Almost too much for a GM). I sure wouldn't believe he would lose. Get rid of him and start making ECW enjoyable.

Colin Delaney gives yet another dynamic to the old "loveable" loser gimmick. They tried it with Stevie Richards, but he got hurt in the middle of the push. Now they are going have Colin squashed week in and week out and then he will pull off a couple of big wins down the road. Nothing amazing, just bigs one out of nowhere. If this guy ever gets the chance to show a finisher, then it will be a miracle.

Constantly nit-picking aren't you, colin can wrestle he is great and maybe WWE is actually taking notice and bringing in different styles in contrast to the usual WWE buff,tough-way as we can see in Morrison, Punk, Kingston and a few other guys.
They offer styles unique to their own like Morrison has very innovative offence whiles still able to milk the crowd, Punk is a great character(not used well in WWE to what he can be), Kofi comes under his own style..hes amazingly cheery in the ring and gives it all in his matches with his mix of kicks and flips.

Colin has his own style, he's very smart and good in Tag team wrestling. :)
also, i shall say that people are complaining about his size but wrestling is about skill and if he can out skill someone like Kane and sneak him for a pin then thats smart wrestling.
It still comes back down to, if you cant wrestle as good as him dont complain...would you rather watch Colin/Estrada or more CENA and big clutz' who fumble.
