Cody's partner for Goldust

Anyone else see where this is going? This unknown partner he's bringing out next week who will "magnify the magnificence" of Goldust.

It's going to be Cody. In some kind of modern day version OF Goldust. "Hey it worked for Dustin". "Codust" or something along those lines.

Not saying I'm wanting this, but I think that's whats in store

This is ultimately leading up to a heel turn for Cody. You could practically feel the smug, smarmy, slimy, self-satisfaction of a heel oozing from him last night. Whomever this partner is will probably turn out to be some sort of joke or set up in which Cody ultimately turns on his bother, setting up a feud that'll probably culminate at SummerSlam.

As to why he'll turn, I imagine it'll come down to the story of Cody initially doubting himself, believing that he really was the weak link of the team. However, given that Goldust has been on a losing streak with a variety of partners, Cody will come to the realization that, at least in his mind, that Goldust was the problem all along, that he's the weak link in the chain and was dragging him down.

I agree with this. But hey, it might be Sandow in some stupid Goldust getup (lmao).

Which is reminiscent of the role Goldust played years ago when teaming with Booker T, remember? Back then, Dustin was the guy suffering the crisis of confidence Cody is now going through.

In the end, I figure Cody sees his brother's repeated failures in tag team efforts and concludes that he (Cody) is terrific after all, leading him to turn heel and kicking off the family feud that was predicted over a year ago.

I liked Cody better as a face, but he's pretty vanilla in either role, so if they want him as a bad guy again, that's what he'll be.

In the LD last night this was what I thought was going to happen. It would fit all the criteria based on what was said and still allow them to easily get beaten without burying a rookie.

An upcoming NXT superstar is another possibility that nobody here brought up yet. If not, then possibly a Damien Sandow joke will be pulled off.

It will be a handicap match against Rybaxel. Cody will come out just before Goldust's "partner" is announced and say that there isn't one person on this roster that could make Goldust look good. Have him say that he though he was the problem at first, but after stepping back and observing his brother for the past few weeks, he's realised that the real problem was Goldust all along.

Have Rybaxel beat Goldust down only to have Cody come out to finish the job by hitting Cross Rhodes on him and then leaving.

They can have a match at MITB and then their "Wrestlemania Fantasy Match" at SummerSlam.

If they did it this way, what about Battleground? I think they should build it all the way until Summerslam.

Okay. I'm actually gonna be the first one to agree with the OP here.

This is basically exactly how I see it going down. Cody will put himself back in the role of Goldust's partner, but in the form of some new strange over-the-top gimmick that compliments Goldust.

I really could care less about Goldust or a,feud with Cody.Cody is extremely talented and should be in the thick of a IC or US title feud instead of a potential feud with Goldust. I really don't see where this benefits either one in the long run.

That's who I'm going for. My best guess, is Aiden English. If we go back to Goldust's roots, there's a lot of movie references in there, so the perfect addition is someone who loves the stage. You can get some sort of weird 'actors union' kinda thing going.

ANyway the answer is AIDEN ENGLISH!!! Bout time he came up, he's gonna be great
