I was sure that Shelton Benjamin was gonna be the one to beat Christian, so he could become the face of the show. But he didn't, and I'm not sure why.

If they are gonna drop the ECW name, then maybe they need a really well known name to keep things going, which would make sense. But still, who will be the one to dethrone Captain Charisma? There aren't to many threats, hes beaten Benjamin and Regal, Koslov is just blah, and Zeke looks like hes turning face, And Ryder is nowhere near ready. So who will it be?

I think it leaves 2 choices. Benjamin gets a rematch and takes it, which would make sense because he should get a chance to grab the ball and run with it. Hes getting older, its now or never.

Or the more likely....Vance Archer. I know everybodies kinda on him, but they are building him to be a destructive force on ECW, and he is the most believable threat I guess. The ECW champ has been a face since April, so I'm assuming a heel reign is coming. This guy could win, then battle with SB or Zeke or Tatsu down the road. I think this may be the one more Likely to happen. I think he would be the 1st guy to make his name in TNA to become champ. I don't include WWE'ers who left, got big and came back. Thoughts?

I like the idea of Vance Archer being the next logicial choice however the only creditable person that he has beaten is Tommy Dreamer once. IMO he has a few more people he will need to take down before he gets that shot to take Christian's ECW championship away from him. As for who is next I feel that Christian & Shelton did steal the show at TLc so I think that the logicial move would be for Christian & Shelton to go one more time in a straight up one on one match (AKA no ladders) to really see if Shelton is ready to take the Reigns as ECW Champion. I have loved watching Shelton since he debuted, and a ECW championship reign would finaly give him the creditability that he needs to make for that Main Event push.

The only people I can see beating Christian for the belt is either Shelton Benjamin or Zack Ryder. I know he's had some matches with Ryder before, but I think WWE was just testing the waters with those matches. They might throw him back into the title picture sooner or later because since then WWE has put him with Rosa and Ryder still gets a good amount of TV time.

Let's not count out Shelton after one loss just yet. We've still got a long while before the Rumble, so plenty can happen between now and then. Benjamin is Shelton's rival now,and there will be more matches between the two.

With ECW facing the possibility of closing up shop, they may want Christian to just take the belt to the end, and then go on to his push on whatever show he lands on. Or, their waiting for someone to step up and take it. Shelton has gotten better in ECW, but he's certainly not staking claim to be the best on the brand.

Zach Ryder wasn't horrible during his push, and looks to have a program with Dreamer coming, so maybe they let him build himself back up, and then work on a title chase. Ryder and Christian have faced off plenty of times, and since they know how to work, I don't see the harm in letting them get a title feud, and then eventually put Ryder over with an ECW title reign.

Agreed. That's pretty much the theory I had come up with. Depending on what happens to ECW, they might end that belt with Christian still holding it. If that happens then when he gets moved to Raw or Smackdown he can move into the main event and say something along the lines of "I never lost my title, I should get a title shot". It would be a perfect reason to give him a main event push because it would make sense, plus he is really over.

I wouldnt mind seeing Yoshi Tatsu being the new ECW Champion.

They have an Irish WWE Champion, a Scottish Intercontinental Champion. Why not a Japanese ECW Champion?

But in my professional opinion, I see no one ready to step up and claim ECW Championship. I hear William Regal and Zack Ryder's name being thrown down. Goldust could be another, or maybe Tommy Dreamer will capture the ECW Championship and retire with it. But I see a former ECW Champion winning it from Christian maybe Kane or Matt Hardy.

Well seeing as how Chavo Guerrero, Mark Henry, Matt Hardy, and Tommy Dreamer(all guys I never thought Vince would let hold a title), I wouldn't leave anyone out of the question. Depending on how long ECW actually sticks around, I could see Christian sticking with it till the end. If it actually does stick for more than say 6 months, I'd say Zach Ryder will probably end up getting it, if Shelton doesn't win it first.

My personal preference would be Shelton Benjamin, I think it would probably end up being the high point of his career, and could make him a part of history.

I dont know who could take it they may just, let Christian keep the title if ECW folds, but they are having a tournament on ECW to see who will face christian. at the rumble, so we may see some one take it off him.

But of course this is the WWE, so who knows what they will have face christan and beat him, if they ever do have Christain lose. if they dont and ECW closes he will go to raw, or sd and prob be in the main event and run wioth he never lost his world title.IMO

Well, with this tournament, it looks like they're getting a new contender for the match at the Rumble, which means ECW isn't folding just yet. As the weeks go by, we'll see all the people in the tourney, but judging by what we've seen I'm assuming the contender will be Ezekiel Jackson. I'd eventually like to see Shelton Benjamin get the title, as he's really stepped up his game the past few weeks. I wouldn't be averse to a Goldust or Hurricane reign, either.

I am starting to believe that Christian will hold the title until the Draft.

At which time he will change brands and they will announce the title to be vacant. At this point, with the new faces on ECW a new champion will emerge...

This makes some sense as the plan seems to be that Christian should be a believable ME instantly on SmackDown or Raw. This won't be achieved if he is beaten a few weeks before the draft by anyone currently on the roaster or any of the past champions that might come from the ECW Homecoming Tournament.

Since he appears to be defending his title at the Rumble, the rumour of having him win the Royal Rumble, seems unlikely.

Id like to see William Regal get it and repush him like his kotr win.
Let him run with that title and then move him up to smackdown (I think he wold get over better there) then add him into your main event scene. Yeah he has been around awhile but is still a hell of a worker and diserves a run after all he has put in

Could be William Regal. I have thought for a while now that Regal is the least utilized talent in the business. Christian and Regal, for me, form the best heel-face title feud in the business today. So I hope it's Regal.

I would like to see Regal as champ. He has the wrestling ability and mic skills to deserve a title run. I would also like to see Goldust as champ but that's less likely. However I don't see the titles changing hands and if ECW is indeed going to be shut down then Christian should just keep the title for the rest of ECW's run.
