I came across this story this morning. Chris Masters gave an interview recently in which he questions Cesaro's ability to genuinely body slam Big Show. In the interview on The Roman Show, Masters stated:
"I'm pretty sure Big Show jumped for him. Not to take anything away from Cesaro, he looks like a talented worker who can probably bring his down a little bit and build his body up, but that's just my opinion. If he slammed the Big Show, I can probably press, the Big Show."
I just typed in "Cesaro Slamming Big Show" on YouTube and the first video it brought up was a 21 second or so clip showing the last bit of the battle royal. After watching it, I honestly don't see any indication that Big Show jumped in any way. As he was coming towards Cesaro after being shoved against the ropes, it's possible that there was a little extra momentum made it a bit easier, but it looked pretty legit.
It's sort of a misconception that you have to have a super jacked physique in order to have a lot of physical strength. Guys who have a Herculean physique like Chris Masters don't automatically have Herculean level strength to go with the look. Not to suggest that Masters isn't a strong guy, but having the chiseled look of a bodybuilder doesn't necessarily mean that you can bench press 500 pounds. Georg Hackenschmidt was all of 5'9.5" 205pounds in 1898 when he set the, then, world record for the bench press at 361 pounds; a record that stood for roughly 18 years. When JBL says that Cesaro has "God given" strength, there could be some truth to it. There are some people who're naturally very strong even if they don't lift weights all that much. For example, a man named Dennis Rogers is considered, pound for pound, the strongest man in the world. He has been on various shows like Oprah Winfrey, David letterman, etc. displaying great feats of strength. He's all of 5'6" 168 pounds but can bend steel bars, steel tools, rip phone books in half, etc. His muscles can generate in excess of 1,000 pounds of force, more than someone several times his size. Various medical tests show that he's somehow able to tap into muscle acceleration and more muscle fibers than most other people, granting him much greater physical strength than someone with larger muscles.
