This match surley isnt worthy of W.M. Benoit deserve's a proper match with a proper feud. If not that at least put him with a wrestler who can work properly. I want Benoit on the card but this match has just been thrown together.

Well if it makes you feel any better, the heat for this match and feud for this matter was very very hot at smackdown in trenton this last week, i was at the event live, and the crowd absolutely flipped out when benoit came out....I think its a good clash of cultures/eras, with MVP's hip hoppish flamboyany flashy gimmick vs benoits hardcore respectable workman character....Although the match will probably consist of MVP getting his ass whipped all over the ring, and then somehow pulling off a cheap win, it will be good in the long run becuase this may free up benoit for a world title or wwe championship run...benoit is very over right now...and actually i must say that MVP is very over and gets great heat, I like him I think he has great charisma, and if he develops in rings skills, could be a major star someday soon.....

this match isnt going to be a classic, but it is going to be alright. look i think benoit will carry mvp to a decent match and i expect mvp to win and become new us champ. this will lead to benoit moving to raw and going for the wwe championship! i think mvp is not as bad as everyone thinks he is, he has decent mick skills and isnt the worst wrestler ive seen. lets just hope benoit carries mvp to a good match and then after benoit can move on to better things on raw. after mvp wins us title i want him to have a feud with, booker or matt hardy!!!!

i expect benoit to lose and move to raw (like the guy above me said) and then possibly challenge for the wwe title. if the mitb winner is someone from raw, he wont move to raw, instead benoit will just continue his feud with mvp. if he does move to raw, raw could send kenny to smackdown, since he now wrestles on heat and they waste his talent. benoit could challenge for the ic title

Regardless of where Benoit ends up, could you think of a match more unwatchable then this? I don't know about the rest of you but I'm anything BUT impressed with MVP. He gives me no reason to believe he's ready for the US title

I also don't think MVP is worth a US Title Match, even a WrestleMania match! He hasn't proved nothing really. He went bitching to Teddy Long about getting a US Title Match at Mania and he got his wish. How is that a good build up? Benoit shouldn't have to deal with this under-rated crap.

WWE is grooming MVP to be a superstar of the future what better way for him to learn how to work in the ring than to pair him with a tremendous talent like Benoit. Plus with Benoit being as over as he is, there is instant heel heat on MVP, which will bring the crowd into this one. Benoit knows how to get great matches out of people and I'm sure this will be a decent match. It probably won't be more than 10 minutes or so, but I think this will be more than watchable, plus after MVP pulls off some sort of cheap win, it will both further his heat and free up Benoit for bigger and better things without harming how over he is.

I'd really like to see MVP take the title at Mania, he's got so much talent, both on the mic and in the ring, I can see him being a big factor in years to come. Benoit changing brands again? I don't know if i'm down with that, but was his appearance on Raw for the 'Wrestlemania' reversal night a hint that we're gunna be seeing him on Raw alot more... maybe even a push for the WWE Title. I personally don't like Benoit that much, i don't have anything to back that up, it's just one of those things ya know? He's blatantly main event material, and i don't like the fact that he was dropped out of the main event after being a good World champ and think the WWE have been mis-using him recently, he's not been on SmackDown all that much, and using him in the 6 man tag at No Way Out was a mistake, people like to see champions defend their titles, especially at PPVs. MVP for the title!

Like MVP or not he is a good wrestler and is proving himself well in the WWE. He has been through a cage match with Kane, Inferno match, faced B.O.D. and right now his career is great. I see MVP beating Benoit at WrestleMania23 and becoming the new U.S. Champion and then maybe Benoit can move up to better things in the WWE. I think MVP earns it right about now and it may not be a long match but im expecting it to be a good match Benoit is a great technical wrestler and MVP is a rising star and I see a bright future for him in the WWE. If Benoit is gonna lose the title and move to Raw, I would give it to MVP at this point he may not be the best wrestler at the moment but he is good and he doesnt really suck on the mic. Once the match is all done with and if Benoit loses and if he does go to Raw, I'm wondering who he is going to fued with.

The match will probably turn out to be decent as some of you said. However don't count on MVP winning it at Wrestlemania, I don't think Vince would do that to Chris Benoit (his favorite wrestler lol). I think that he will lose it on Raw or on Smackdown a week after, but I would really love him just to drop it to go to Raw, so that there could be a competitive tournament for the US Title, seeing how many mid-carders are on Smackdown.

If Benoit is going to RAW, he ain't taking the United States Title with him. Do you know what I mean? MVP will win. Maybe by roll up or something I dunno.

It's the fact that Benoit loses to a guy that has only won a third of his match's.....no fued.....And it degrades the U.S. Title to tell you the truth......Only one way I see it not and that is if he has a long title run with it...like 8 months to a year.....Benoit's had it a good 6 almost but still....MVP? .....C'mon...lol....I think it's a slap in the face of benoit if they don't give him a title on Raw within the first 6 month's of him arriving unless he challanges at next WM....

Just a thought... but could this match be kind of a pretext to Benoit coming to raw?

I'm thinking someone from RAW interferes in this match causing the eventual title switch. Benoit, obviously pissed, moves to raw to take on his new nemesis. I could see this as being some sort of feud with a younger guy in order to get him over to a truly higher level and to give some exposure to Benoit before putting him back in the main even scene.

Maybe Johnny Nitro interferes? or Dykstra?

Can't really think of any other available up and coming heels from RAW that could be the subject of such a food.

But I think that would be a good idea.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I'd love to see Benoit back on RAW to feud with Triple H or HBK for the WWE Championship, althou I don't think MVP should win the title but if it means seeing Benoit back on RAW then it would almost be worth it. Unfortunatly MVP's win at Mania will make Benoit look like a jobber and the US title will lose any prestige it has left.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but im really looking forward to this match. There are a lot of MVP haters out there, but I really do think that MVP can be an amazing superstar. He's got good set of mic skills, not the best, but better than most, and that can improve over time. I think his inring skills are good as well. He has not really had the opportunity to display this skill, I think, mainly because his only main feud has been with Kane, and their main match was an inferno, so your not going to see a good ring match there. Being in a match with Benoit is a recipe for a good match, as Benoit can make anyone look good. I think if they give this match a decent amount of time, say 15 minutes, then you will really see the capabilities of MVP. I've see some flashes of brilliance, its not time to step out on the grandest stage of them all!

MVP did ok, it was the first time we had actualy seen him wrestle in a proper match, with a decent opponent and he came accross well (in part due to benoit) I think this match could have been much better given more time speshly considering it finished 20mins before the finish time. MVP could be a future prospect he's better than a lot of guys on the RAW roster. But talent/been good on the mic doesnt always get you to the top (Helms) kissing Vinces arse does (Cena).

Whoever thinks otherwise, get a set of glasses you must be blind as a bat. MVP was simply put amazing in that match. Showing moves way beyond what everyone believed he had in his reportroire. He was outwrestling benoit for most of that match for god's sake. He was going counter for counter with chris. I was heavily impressed. I liked MVP before but I like him even more now. That match was A+++ for me. I was disappointed in the ending and outcome but the rest was great. And like I said mark MVP down for a face turn, he's already a face in my book now... Give that fin man another title shot please.

^^ Id like to admire your naivety, they were told to work that match in that way. Ill be renting out WM23 when it comes out, Though this may be the dark horse of entire show with the ravings that people are giving this match, This is the start of a feud, this is where having the veteran wrestlers spread over the brands is a good thing, because you can put the younger guys in a feud with them and develop their credibility in a good way even if they lose such as this way, even though MVPs gear made him stay as Power Ranger Im guessing the match made up for it.

If you aren't impressed by quality wrestlers such as mvp or benoit then just go watch some of johnny-no-talent-cena or batista or lashley matches if you want to fall asleep and hit your head on the floor.

MVP is not a good wrestler. Sure he has charisma. And maybe in a few year's he'll be a better wrestler. But currently he's below average. Benoit can carry most people, hence the decent Mania match. I'd be hard pressed to think of another good MVP match. He's been on the main roster for nearly 6 month's and he hasnt done anything memorable yet. If he was a good wrestler surley they wouldnt keep putting him in squash match's against no name jobbers? Facing jobbers is a way to make somebody look dominant but not have them wrestle a proper match.

Actualy MVP is an alright wretler ive seen some of his videos on youtube before he came to WWE when he firstr arrived to see what all the fuss was about, and hes alright better than most of the smackdown roster. I admit though i was disapointed because they booked him into a lot of boring, unmemorable specialty matches against Kane probably because they wanted to think a new move set up for him, and also partly because the wwe writers are idoits. I mean they booked Angle in squash matches with his invitanal, so just because they had him face jobbers doesnt mean hes bad. Give the guy a chance this was basicaly the first proper wrestling match hes had one on one and he did well, Benoit defiantly played a role in making him look alright but he is wayy too overated, yea hes probly 1 of the best technical wrestlers on both rosters, but hes shite at entertaining, and his technical wrestling is getting worse i dont know if its due to age or what but he aint anywhere near where he was at about 4 years ago. And if you want to talk about jobbers benoit is a jobber himself, allowing himself to do the ulimate job to John Cena. MVP is a new guy and im glad they are bringing in fresh faces that actualy know how to wrestle unlike the 3 'champions' we have at the moment

^^you hit it right on the head. MVP will be okay, soon as they eliminate the outfits, he's got mic skills, his ring work is improving. The match with Benoit definitely was better than I expected. He came to play considering it was his first Mania

Read my original post. MVP outwrestled d benoit and out countered him for 75% of that match. That alone should convince you all of his talent in the ring. How many people you seen that did that to benoit and it looked believable? So don't hand me this crap that MVP is just good or okay. If he keeps showing that kind of passion as he did at the pay per view he will definitely be a champion in the near future...
