Choose Your Champions

WWE Title--John Cena, hear me out because I'm not his biggest fan either, but the reality is who else is there? Ryback? Please he can't cut a live promo to save his life, and his wrestling is subpar at best. He doesn't really have any legit momentum to speak of anymore. CM Punk? He just had it for over a year, believe me I love him and enjoy him as champ, but to much of a good thing is a thing for a reason. With those two out of the picture who else you gonna give it to other than Cena? Besides Cena hasn't had it in well over a year, since it was lost in the triple threat match between him punk and ADR at hell in the cell 2011. I'll give him another shot to see if he can do something with it, although I won't hold my breathe.

WHC--Dolph Ziggler keeps it and has a nice long healthy run that solidifies him.

Tag Team Titles--This is tricky, I would LOVE to see The Shield given a freebird type run but then let me ask you one question. Who would take the titles from them? What tag teams are there that can challenge them? Give them the titles they are stuck into a tag team divison that frankly doesn't deserve to be in the same building as The Shield right now. Frankly though there is no one else to give them belts to as Kane and Daniel Bryan have ran their course.

Divas title--AJ Lee, there is no one else on the roster who deserves it more and can do more for that title than her.

Intercontiental & US titles--They don't exist, the WHC is the new IC title.

I've done this thread a couple of times before, but it was long ago. I'll gladly respond though, as it's a fascinating topic. :)

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP - JOHN CENA
None other than WWE's top guy and the face of the federation. No one deserves to hold the top prize in wrestling more than John Cena. I'd give him a longer reign so that a ton of heels will get a chance to work at the main event level with him.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION - DANIEL BRYAN
After Team Hell No's inevitable split, I would like to see Bryan return to the World Heavyweight Championship scene and have a title feud with Punk. I'd have Bryan ultimately win the feud. He'd eventually be dethroned by the next Money In the Bank winner after retaining against a number of different wrestlers this summer.

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP - WADE BARRETT
I have nothing against Barrett holding this belt. His problem has been the lack of decent angles and also a lack of strong title retentions. He could make the belt mean something if given a chance.

UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP - ANTONIO CESARO
Cesaro's reign should not have ended the way it did, I'd have him win the belt back and have a second lengthy reign with it but this time a face should be built up to dethrone him while he has a reign filled with strong title retentions.

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - 3MB
No, you did not read that wrong. 3MB is who I would make the Tag Team Champions. Freebird rule anyone? These guys can still be believable if all 3 are allowed to be champions at once. Sure, The Shield will likely be the next title holders but I'd rather see 3MB get a shot. The Shield would not benefit nearly as much from a run with the giant pennies as 3MB would, as each member of The Shield is destined for greatness already. A run with the giant pennies would benefit 3MB significantly and I'd like to see them succeed despite being turned into such a joke.

DIVAS CHAMPION - AJ
She's the future of the division and I'm surprised they have not made her the champion yet. I'd give her a lengthy reign where she defeats every other girl on the roster. Let her work with Natalya at some point so that we can get a divas feud REALLY worth watching.

WWE Champ
Punk really should get back there now that Rocky has gone back to Hollywood

WWE WHC
Kane or Henry for one last hooraah. Then Drew McIntyre (use the rest of 3MB as interfernce)

IC
Dean Ambrose or Seth Rollins needs the exposure as they are both destined for main events

US
Damien Sandow or Kassius Ohno.

Tags
Prime Time Playas, eventually they have to stop jobbing to allcomers.

Diva
Its gonna be AJ. Would love to see Paige added to this scene.

Challenging you here. WWE's main issue is that it has not made any new stars in forever. How is a part-time Brock going to elevate the status of the WWE Championship while also helping WWE bolster it's already incredibly weak roster in terms of star-power? Is this a fantasy choice that doesn't take into account his limited contract? If reality isn't a factor, why not pick Stone Cold Steve Austin as choice for WWE Champion?

Honestly, I think Brock for WWE Champion is my most realistic pick, save maybe The Shield for tag champions. I'm all for elevating new stars, etc. etc. etc., but I don't think WWE is. At least, not with the WWE title, and not now - hence why John Cena is champion and, before him, The Rock. WWE wants its crown jewel on a megastar, so it can scream at the world and go, "Holy shit, look at this! Look at who's WWE Champion!" Speaking of The Rock, that's where WWE's set a precedent for being alright with the champion rocking up once or twice a month, then disappearing off again. I've no idea what Brock's new contract is. Reading the contradictory reports on it, I don't think anybody else does either. I'd assume it's still limited, as I don't think WWE has the restraint to keep him off every single Raw (though he has been showing up quite often as of late).

But yes, we can file Brock Lesnar as WWE Champion under 'Something I'd Quite Like To See And Something Which Doesn't Seem Entirely Unrealistic'.

In a fantasy world where Vince has inexplicably abdicated and put a 21-year-old Briton with no relevant qualifications in charge, I'd probably go for... Daniel Bryan. Or Steve Austin. One of the two.

WWE Champion: John Cena...as a heel. I think he should pull a Chris Jericho type heel turn from WCW. Have him go back to his "Hustle, Loyalty, Respect" mantra only act the complete opposite. Cheat to win, throw tantrums and yell at fans, be shady, but "maintain he's a hero." He could even use a different set of 5 moves. I think it'd be strangely polarizing and fresh.

World Heavyweight Champion:Dolph Ziggler is the right choice still. I like him as champion and it's his time to shine.

Intercontinental Champion:Cody Rhodes hasn't gotten much love here. He and Orton put on a fantastic match last week. Cody is still one of the best in the ring, but he could use another IC title run to give him a little jumpstart toward the main event again.

US Champion:Damien Sandow. Isn't it time this guy gets some gold? He's great on the mic, he backs it up in the ring, and yet, he gets relegated to doing a talk show on Smackdown (possibly). He could be the next star.

Tag Team Titles:The Shield would be the obvious choice here. Using the Freebird rule, let them all 3 hold the title and choose who defends it.

I'm not commenting on the Diva's title.

WWE Strap - Randy Orton. I don't care what anybody says, Orton is the best heel WWE's had for years and CM Punk is second. Lesnar is one dimensional, but in a good way. Still not the guy I'd put the strap on. Putting Orton back into the WWE title picture will remind people that he's still a legit threat and would revitalize his stature in the company as well as the prestige of the title. WWE could also use this to revive the Orton & Cena feud.

World Strap - Big E Langston. Here's the scenario. Dolph Ziggler's concussion is reported to be worse than expected, but rather than forfeit the title, Booker T allows Big E Langston to defend the belt in place of Ziggler for the next defense. Big E retains the belt, and then celebrates with it. The feeling of raising the World title is good to him, but he knows it's not technically his. Ziggler comes back to full health on the next Smackdown and claims that nobody can take his title away, and that's when Langston drops Ziggler and turns face. At Money in the Bank, Ziggler defends against Langston and loses the title. Now I realize people might be saying "He's too green" and shit like that, and to that I say fuck off. This is about capitalizing on a hot topic at the best possible time. And this would be the best possible time.

IC Strap - Santino. I have no problem with a comedy character holding a title. The latter half of Mankind's legacy was a comedy character and he managed to win title after title with that character, so who cares? What matters is that Santino is entertaining and has a great following. I would even use this reign as a foreshadowing to push Santino into the World title picture.

US Strap - Christian. He's been gone, and the WWE fans will need to know he can still go. So you turn him heel, and have him call out Jericho. I could think of no better feud to legitimize this strap.

Tag Straps - Mysterio & Sin Cara, or as I call them, MystiCara. They're coming off an injury soon and could easily fill in with a feud against the Shield.

Divas Strap - Naomi. Nobody else is worthy that's on the main roster. I would, however, call up Audrey Marie to have her feud with Naomi and get her acquainted with the fans.

--

NXT Strap - Kassius Ohno. Despite knowing he can be a champion in the indies, I'd still need to know that he can handle the pressure of being a champion under MY watch. So before calling him to the big picture, I'd use this to test the waters.

NXT Tag Straps - Young Bucks. Yes, despite what Booker says, I would go out of my way to bring them to NXT. Even if I don't call them to the main roster, I'd be confident enough in them that they would bring some legitimacy to the developmental system.

NXT Women's - Aksana. She really needs the help.

WWE Champion; Cm Punk- I liked his title reign in 2012/2013 and was sad to see it end, don`t get me wrong I don`t want to see him hold it for as long this time but I do think he deserves to hold it for a lengthy period of time.

World Heavyweight Champion; Dolph Ziggler- I love Ziggler as World Champion at the moment and I think it is good that they have let a young, new fresh superstar have a run with a major Championship for a change.

WWE Tag Team Champion; Team Hell No- A lot of People will disagree and say that Team hell No have gone as far as they can and have become boring, But I think they are just hitting there stride in there feud with The Shield.

IC Champion; Chris Jericho- There is two answers here, First I would like Chris Jericho to defeat Wade Barrett and win the IC Championship, Then a month or so Later drop it to Fandango and let the young star rise even higher.

United States Champion: Antonio Cesaro- I would like for Antonio to win back the Championship and have another lengthy reign with it.

Divas Champion- Don`t really care.

WWE CHAMPION Heel John Cena Everyone new that the Rock was going to drop the belt to Cena a Wrestlemania, But having Cena do it and turn Heel at the same time would have been much better then having Cena win clean. Cena's character has become boring over the last few years, But having Cena have a championship reign as a heel could have been very intresting and could have lead to some fantastic feuds and ultimately the return of a Face CM Punk.

WORLD CHAMPION Randy Orton While WWE continue to punish orton for his last Wellness violation, The WWE fans continue to cheer for the Viper and pop hard everytime his music hits. The World title scene has become a bit of a joke over the last few years, But having Orton as champion would really help get the title back where it should be.

IC CHAMPION Danial Bryan Bryan has become one of the biggest things going in the WWE as part of team Hell No and while the team of Kane and Bryan continue to entertain me, I think its about time Bryan got a push as a single competiter again and with WWE being reluctant to really do anything with the title for the last few years Bryan could very well be the guy to revive the division.

US CHAMPION Seth rollins The Shield have taken the WWE by storm since there Debut, But to get them to the next level they are really going to need to start winning titles and while Dean Ambrose is by far the best talker in the group. Rollins seems to be the more complete package of the three and would be very convincing as the US Champion.

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS The Shield As I just said, the Sheid need to start winning titles and having Ambrose and Reigns winning the Tag Titles would go along way to helping elevate the Stable to new highs in the WWE.

WWE Tag Team Championship Tyler Black & John Moxley (i hate the WWE name changes)

Hate to break it to you, those aren't their real names either TB/SR/Colby Lopez and JM/DA/Johnathan Good..

but I digress..

WWE Title: John Cena, I'm a little bored with him now but he went almost 2 full years without the title. No one else to fill this title

WHC: Dolph Ziggler and its about damn time.

US Title: Dean Ambrose. Anyone notice the momentary glance he gave the US belt on Monday?

IC Title: Damien Sandow. I love his gimmick and would love to see him cut loose and make up all smarter.

Tag Titles: Rollins and Reigns. Just works out they are pushing Ambrose as the singles guy. Also that name, Rollins and Reigns, has a nice ring to it.

Divas: Naomi. So has the best matched consistently right now on TV (Nattie isn't working on tv very often)

World Heavyweight Champion: Dolph Ziggler. If it were up to me, Ziggler would hold the WHC indefinitely until...

WWE Title: Dolph Ziggler. He should eventually be the guy to unify the titles

Intercontinental Champion: Daniel Bryan. The IC belt needs to be brought back to its pre-Attitude Era level of prestige. Bryan is the right guy to do that.

United States Champion: Alex Riley. It's already been established that the U.S. Belt is a low tier belt now, so giving it to someone like one of the Shield or giving it back to Cesaro would be a step down for them. Give the belt to someone for whom it would be a step up. Riley is popular with the fans despite doing nothing for a year and a half. He's improved leaps and bounds in the ring, and all it takes is just one match with the right opponent to rebuild his credibility. Give the U.S. belt to Fandango and have him and Riley feud over it for a while before Riley finally wins the belt at Summerslam.

Tag Team Championship: Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. I think Ambrose and Rollins would work best as the tag team since they have similar backgrounds and have already established a tag team finisher. Reigns would be better off as the outside enforcer running interference or as a singles guy feuding with someone like Sheamus, but not going after titles.

Heres my take:

WWE Champion: CM Punk.
I know that his first reign didnt do great ratings but id argue that it had more to do with his competition than cm punk. i want my chap to be the most interesting man on the show, someone who people tune in too see, like people did with stone cold, and rock, and hbk with dx. cm punk doesnt have to be attitude era, but at the very least hes unpredictable and charismatic. cena sells merch and is a nice guy but he's just not that interesting enough to draw people to a show, at least IMO.
Plus with heyman as a manager, punk could be that heel who gets real heat and has the smarks cheering him- think early now- cool heels- but still hated.- which brings me to his partner in crime and my next champion...

World Heavyweight Champion: Brock Lesnar.
To me, this belt just belongs on Brock. he is literally the heavywieght champion. this championship makes a power stable. and with this, id have brock on every tv show, he can carry smack down with one or two paul heyman powered segments a week, he barely would have to wrestle. having brock on smack down is not a hard schedule. brock works mondays for raw, and tuesday to tape smackdown. no house shows, its not necessary because you have cena and punk working those. im pretty sure Brock can work 2 days and week and WWE can pay him. plus it immediatley gives the faces on smackdown in the WHC title picture more credibilty. I mean seriously, does randy orton look better if he is played up as an equal to brock lesnar... or dolph ziggler. come on, its the HEAVYWEIGHT title. its meant for a BEAST, the beast, Brock Lesnar. Now we have a Heyman run power stable gettign heat heat heat and good ratings, getting all your faces over in the process of the chase for the title. but dont worry, im not burying ziggler becuase he gets....

The Intercontinental Title: Dolph Ziggler.

Remember when the IC title was respected and associated with great talent like HBK, The Rock, Stone cold, and jericho? dolph to me should follow in those guys footsteps. dolph and his fueds with swagger and del rio should be played out over a mid card title. those guys should have a long personal feud over this title. dolph and his stable can still pick up the gold, but only

Womens Title/Divas: AJ Lee
I guess she can wrestle at least ok. i mainly gave her this title because i think that face she makes while holding dolphs WHC title is soooooo great. just so coveting and maniacal- shes one of the better actors on the show. and probably smart too. but before i give her too much praise, this title is really only to set up and angle were Big E is the odd man out, with no chick and no title, a third wheel, which eventually will be played out to get the crowd behind him in a slow burn face turn. i view Big E as a ahmed Johnson type look, and I hope he does well because i want to see some successful black superstars.

Tag Team Titles: Team Rhodes Scholars
No brainer. Rhodes is a great worker with a great look. hes not the best on the mic, but that doesnt matter because idol stevens 2.0, Damien Sandow, the grandiloquent pedant is gold on the boom stick. his randy orton theme song parody was the first time I've actually laughed hard at something on raw in a very long time. hes a phenomal talker. these guys should take the belts off team hell no, and have a fued with them. team hell no can elevate these guys, both Kane and DB are main event level talent, they can put Team rhode scholars over in a team v team battle, some sorta gimmick match, then go on to the main event. putting rhodes and sandow over would hurt kane and db at all, but it would make Rhodes Scholars looks strong, and have a good charismatic entertaining heel team as a foundation to build the tag division and give the belts prestige.

US Title: Shield (Freebird Rules)
I really dont much care for this title, its been so devalued, it take too long to salvage it in this thread. so by putting it on the shield, and giving them a freebird reign, it may not gain prestige, but at least it will be interesting. the sheild play mind games with their opponents, changing up the lineups. they smash the title over peoples heads alot because thats awesome. power people on it too. basically it gets all dented up like the MITB briefcase, its basically a weapon. eventaully a face came come over a try to 'reclaim the title' for the WWE Universe... and get power bombed by the shield:lmao:
or win it. either way a freebird reign would be something different, and its 100x better than zach ryder winning it or kofi kingston. jesus christ they only defend it on superstars. i would rather watch a dog lick it balls than watch superstars.

so there. a solid lineup, and i would watch both those shows every week with the right storylines. i cant say that about the current lineup of champions.

im a paul heyman guy

My champs:

WWE Champion - CM Punk

Not to beat a dead horse, but he should've never dropped the title to The Rock at the Rumble. Having him walk into Mania on a 500+ day streak as champ and take on Undertaker's undefeated streak would've made the match 100 times more interesting and the outcome equally less predictable. I'd also be ok with Lesnar (if he was full-time) as champ.

World Champion - Dolph Ziggler

Not broken, so don't fix it. The way he cashed in was absolutely perfect. I think he should be feuding with Daniel Bryan soon though, and I won't be disappointed if he wins although I think Dolph deserves a long reign.

IC Champion - Damien Sandow

I thought when Barrett lost to Miz at Mania, it would open the door for another midcard heel to step into the IC Title picture and propel Barrett to bigger and better things. But then they put the strap back on Barrett just 24 hours later and he's stuck in the same rut as he was before. I would love to see Sandow be at the top of the midcard scene as I really like his character and think he's a good worker. He should be rewarded for it.

US Champion - Antonio Cesaro

I'm still trying to figure out what the point was of having him lose to Kofi. I was baffled to see him lose in a match that had ZERO build to someone he had NO feud with on a RANDOM Raw. Give some importance to the title by building the feud, putting the match on ppv, and maybe this belt wouldn't be so damn useless.

Divas Champion - AJ Lee

She' the only Diva that's over in the entire company. Easy choice. Why she hasn't had a match with her former friend and tag partner Kaitlyn is beyond me. Her and Dolph as the power couple of WWE is a no-brainer, imo.

Tag Team Champions - Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns

Hell No has had a long, decent run with the titles. But, it's time to put Daniel Bryan back into the World Title picture and he makes perfect sense to be the one feuding with Ziggler. I don't know if The Shield should implement the "Freebird rule" and have interchangeable members defend the titles, because I think Ambrose is the breakout star of this group and should go for a singles title. The Shield as tag champs should and most likely will happen at Extreme Rules. The only problem is after their feud with Hell No fizzles out, who do you have them feud with over the belts? My best guess is Orton & Sheamus.

Alright, I'll bite.

WWE: Mark Henry. Yes, I said it. He's the best heel in the WWE right now. Until they give Ryback a mouthpiece or start taping all of his promos, he won't cut it (at least for me). I say let him challenge Cena after Extreme Rules because, simply, Ryback lost to Henry, why shouldn't he have a shot? Henry could bowl over Cena and they could feud for a few months until Punk comes back.

World Heavyweight:
I'm still good with Ziggler, I'm just concerned with who he's facing.

Intercontinental:
Antonio Cesaro. I'm ok with Barrett being the champ, but I think he needs to move up. Cesaro needs the push from creative. He consistently impresses me each and every week, win or lose.

United States:
If I had my way, they would merge this title with the I.C. title. I love that they use the U.S. title, but there are way too many mid-card titles at the moment with such a thin roster.

Tag Team:
The Shield. We need a new Freebird rules team. The Shield can run roughshod over everyone with the belts, bring some credibility back to them and hopefully inspire some more/better teams to come along.

I, for one, feel it’s time to unify and consolidate the top 4 Championships. I don’t care if they unify the WWE and World Titles together and unify the Intercontinental and United States Titles together. I don’t care if they unify the WWE and Intercontinental Titles together and unify the World and United States Titles together. I might have a tiny issue if they unify the WWE and United States Titles together and unify the World and Intercontinental Titles together, but that’s just a personal preference.

Unified WWE World Tag Team Champions – The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns)
It’s time to believe in the Shield. It’s time to give the Shield a Championship in the WWE and after that, it’s time to hand the Shield their first defeat. The idea of the Shield being undefeated as a team against former and current Champions of the WWE is getting out of hand, in my opinion. Give them the ball and see how far they can take it and see how much they can score. Give these SuperStars Championships already. Rollins and Reigns should be first with the Tag Team Titles…

United-Continental Champion – Dean Ambrose
…which leaves their all but confirmed / unofficial leader. Ambrose has done a magnificent job on the mic. He’s finishing move, which I like to call the TDD, for obvious reasons, looks almost as believable as Jake the Snake’s DDT. He reminds me General Zod, and I mean that in an extremely complimentary way. It’s time to see what these guys can do with the Leather and Gold.

Undisputed WWE World Champion – John Cena
I believe Cena should be running the show. I think he should start and end Raw and Smackdown, week in and week out, serious or funny, drama or comedy, yellow shirt or blue shirt, “Hustle Loyalty Respect” or “You Can’t See Me” side plates (not both, but that’s just a personal preference), tagging with or go against Dolph Ziggler, proving over and over again to the WWE Universe that he is the number one guy and the number one Champion in the company. He’s not only the number one Face in the WWE, he is the Face of the WWE. Sorry, but that Heel turn idea both past, and since it hasn’t happened yet, should wait a while longer, at least until this generation of kids are teenagers. The longer the wait, the bigger the impact…maybe he should instead do it on Impact in the far future.
