Gone. For. Good.
F4WOnline.com is reporting there are plans for Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens to have a ‘champion vs champion’ feud in December.

While nothing is confirmed at this point, one could speculate this would lead to a match at the RAW brand PPV that month, which is Roadblock. Roman Reigns himself did hint at this during last week’s RAW Talk post-show, saying he’s the guy that could succeed as a dual champion in WWE, and he could be the guy to beat Kevin Owens and he’s looking to add another title.
So assuming that the above speculation becomes reality;

Would you want to see this Champion Vs. Champion encounter?Why/Why not?

I won't want to see this happen. Reason being, Roman Reigns doesn't need to be in the main event again this soon. Let him get strong first in midcard. I would rather choose Owens Vs. Jericho than this.

If WWE really wants to do it and also make Reigns win the ultimate title, a heel turn could be the only logical option to execute it.

Regardless of who is involved, I love seeing Champion vs. Champion feuds. It’s my favorite type of feud in Professional Sports Wrestling Entertainment. The more gold I see on TV, the better it is for me. I would love to see:
Universal Champion vs. World Champion
Raw Women’s Champion vs. Smackdown Women’s Chmapion
Intercontinental Champion vs. United States Champion
Raw Tag Team Champions vs. Smackdown Tag Team Champions

Now, this specific feud between Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns, well it’s not on the top of my list, but it is still on my list. As far as singles matches go, on the top of my list would be Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles. Next would be Dolph Ziggler vs. Roman Reigns. Third would be this Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns feud, tied with and AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler feud. It should be interesting to see if the WWE will give one of these Champions two Championship Title Belts.

Now imagine a Brian Kendrick (or TJ Perkins) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (or Samoa Joe) feud!!

I am all okay for a Champion Vs. Champion feud but this has some implications.

Roman Reigns didn't connect with the audience while even being in main event scene for a long time. I really couldn't get behind him while he was easily getting over all odds by himself. Now that I am starting to enjoy Reigns even still as a face, WWE wants to hotshot him right back into main event scene which I think isn't right for anyone involved be it Reigns himself. I would like to see him build organically for the Universal Championship picture.

It's not that I believe that he doesn't deserve to be in main event picture. He does have the talent but needs the right booking. This guy has already headlined two consecutive Wrestlemanias and WWE should just hold on the big push for some time. Keep him in midcard but keep him strong. Let him build support for him from the audience so that the boos die as soon as possible.

I can't really say that I'm all that thrilled about this idea because I have the feeling that it results in Roman Reigns "making history" as the first dual United States and Universal Champion. Reigns is doing a good job as United States Champion, I think it's a spot that he's genuinely qualified for and I honestly hope that Vince has finally gotten it through his head that fans are not going to embrace Roman Reigns the way he wants them to. He's wanted fans to embrace Reigns as this superhero badass and it just hasn't happened, partially because so many simply don't want another John Cena type dominating for the next decade and partially because so many feel that there are just flat out much better pro wrestlers on the roster deserving the push.

They can put on entertaining matches, we've seen it out of them in the past. That isn't the problem; what is the problem is that there are a lot of fans who don't welcome the prospect of Roman Reigns winning his 4th World Championship at the expense of Kevin Owens. I'm not saying that to piss off Reigns fans, I'm not saying it to put Reigns down or anything like that; it's simply how it is when you look at it from a neutral perspective.

Reigns being in the main event makes perfect sense.
Kevin Owens won the universal championship due to Triple H interfering and screwing over Rollins AND REIGNS.
Reigns was put in a match against Kevin Owens and if he won he would've been inserted into the feud/match between Owens and Rollins. He lost that match due to interference from Rollins and Rusev.
Now that he has settled his feud with Rusev, it only makes sense that he would want to be given his championship opportunity that he was screwed out of twice.

I am not a huge fan of Owens and doubt that his and Reigns feud will go any better than the one he just had with Rollins, but I have enjoyed Owens/Reigns previous matches together so I am looking forward to this potential champion vs champion match/feud.

Wwe could go two ways with this:
Roadblock:
Kevin Owens vs Roman Reigns in a champion vs champion match for both championship. (Owens wins, but Jericho ends up being the one to defend the u.s championship in future bouts, while Owens defends the universal championship.)
or
Roadblock:
They only have one champion defend his championship(Owens). Jericho and Rollins can get involved in the match allowing the defending champion to retain. The next night Foley makes a Fatal four way match between them at the Royal Rumble.

I'm not crazy about it but Owens does need to move on from Rollins for the time being and there aren't many options on who he can face right now. I assume the Jericho face turn will come sooner than later because Raw is lacking in genuinely over main-event faces but it has some legs on it yet. I'd rather see Owens/Reigns now and get it out of the way. I like Reigns holding the US title though.

This would not be an interesting feud and Reigns needs time out of the main event scene. Regardless, they don't have another choice.

Owens vs Zayn is stale. Rollins just got his match. Balor is injured. Goldberg is not an option. Who else is there?

Well no one, so I can see why they're going with this. Again I don't like it, but there's no other option.

I can see why they're booking this match, but that doesn't mean I want to see it.

Well, who cares really. I don't mind it and I don't think Reigns will win this feud if it happens. I also like the idea of doing that now and leaving Y2J vs Owens for Wrestlemania.

HOPEFULLY, that's what they're planning right? They do remember that Y2J is leaving at some point. If Y2J leaves and we never get Owens vs Y2J until WM, I'll be pissed. So I hope Owens vs Reigns is happening because they're keeping Y2J vs Owens for Mania.

The only thing that bothers me is that this means that Reigns won't be defending the belt at least until late December..... But he and Rollins are RAW's only two babyfaces so..

They really lack the fantasy to build something better so what can we do, that's the best choice for now.

They really had to make a new world championship didn't they.

The last time and only time a champion vs. champion match was any good and worth a damn, outside of an unification scenario, was Warrior vs. Hogan in the Ultimate Challenge. Why?

Both men were the biggest faces in the company. Both held the biggest titles in the company. They were booked as equals.

Universal Champion vs. US Champion in 2016, represented by Owens vs. Reigns isn't worth a damn. Owens is being booked as a cowardly heel who can't win without Jericho and Reigns couldn't be the biggest face of the company if the entire locker room of both shows turned heel, including the women, janitor and James Ellsworth.

It'll be booked as either Owens losing to Reigns or Owens beating Reigns with Jericho's help. There's no prestige or mystique to it like Hogan/Warrior, it'll suck like Cena/Booker/Show did way back.

The best champion vs. champion scenario I could have thought of was Balor vs. Styles if Balor didn't go down with injury and remained a dominant champion, defending against Owens, Jericho, and Reigns while Styles defeated Cena, Ambrose, and then both as he did. Then you'd have a fresh, never before seen champion vs. champion scenario with two dominant champions.

This is a bad idea for multiple reasons. First of all, I don't want Roman Reigns anywhere NEAR the Universal Championship. His main event push was so incredibly forced that it would be really tough to enjoy sitting through another equally forced push. Let the guy hold the US Championship for a while and rebuild his fanbase. I don't even dislike the guy himself, I dislike that WWE tried to force him on everyone as the next big thing. The fans don't want that. Secondly, it is bad for the titles. There are plenty of other guys who could challenge the champions instead of using this feud as a way to sneak Reigns back into the main event. If Reigns needed a challenger why not put Zayn against him? That would be an awesome US Championship feud! That would be infinitely better than Zayn being stuck with Strowman. As for Owens, why not give Rusev a chance? They only need one major feud before the Rumble. Rusev VS Owens would buy them some time before Finn is able to return. The promos between Owens and Jericho toward Rusev and Lana would surely be hilarious and the match might not be bad either. Reigns VS Owens for both titles is a really stupid idea.
