I have to go with Edge.
Edge/Cena has probably been one of if not the best feuds in the last 5 years. They made each other what they are today. You can't tell me that Undertaker, JBL, Kurt Angle, or even Eddie Gurrero made Cena the guy he is today. They sure did help a lot, but to me it's always going to be Edge who really put Cena on the map. And it was Cena who put Edge on the map. Their first major encounter(s) in 2006 was definitely the feud of the year. They have put on some of the best matches I've ever seen and probably will ever see. So yeah I pick Edge. Hands down.

I think John Cena's greatest adversary has been the crowd they've been going at it for a very long time now

Or himself im thinking, he went from ruthless aggression, to a eminem wannabe wrestler/rapper, than homeless power ranger wearing orange, green, purple cenation, i guess this is the gimmick he is gonna stay with "HOT MUSTARD SANDWICH"

But back on topic ill say edge, his last man standing match was wicked, only cuz big show chokeslammed him thru that giant bulb that was wicked!!!!!!!

This ones easy, Edge was Cena's greatest adversary hands down with Orton in second.

I liked both feuds but Edge and Cena's characters complimented each other PERFECTLY and it helped fuel the best rivalry Cena ever had.

From Edge stealing the title with MITB, to feuding with him that summer I felt Edge was the only true threat to John Cena all the way through the rivalry. Not only that both guys put on some pretty solid performances with each other both on the mic and in the ring like their TLC match at Unforgiven '06. Also at the time, Edge was easily the top heel with Cena being the top face and it also gave us some solid moments like the Edge and Lita sex celebration.

Orton and Cena had some great moments and matches as well but when I think of Cena's greatest Adversary Edge is the first that comes to mind.

I'm a little sad that Triple H and Shawn Michaels are not possible options. The time Tripe H and Cena have spent feuding is not very long, but they have had multiple WrestleMania title matches, and Triple H's status as a future Hall of Famer makes him at least a worthy adversary. Also, remember when Shawn Michaels and John Cena fought for 60 minutes on Raw? That in itself, regardless of their other matches, should put him on the list.

I guess it really doesn't matter though, as I would still have gone with Edge. Their feud went on FOREVER, but was never boring for me. They had Last Man Standing, TLC, Cage, and Street Fight matches. They always came up with new reasons to hate each other, and Cena throwing Edge into the Boston harbor will always be a classic moment in Raw history. The two of them were just pure magic together, and I dare say Edge was always able to pull good matches out of John Cena. Their feud not only cemented Edge as one of the best heels in wrestling history, but it made John Cena as the face of the WWE.

Orton without a doubt has been the greatest competition that Cena has had in his storied career. Not only have the had the best feuds(even though it lasted for ages) but they were the most competitive, they brought out the best in each other and are two of the biggest names in the WWE. John Cena said about Randy Orton in his interview for the Top 50 Superstars of All Time that Randy Orton is the best man that he has ever been in the ring with, nobody is as precise or smooth as he is. I think that sums it up and answers it for itself, they feel it's each of their best feuds and their great matches back it up.
Lets not forget that this thread is not just about who he had the greatest feud with but who was his greatest threat, and with Randy and John being so evenly matched it without a doubt goes to Orton.
