Capitol Punishment Buyrate - Up From Fatal Fourway

klunderbunker

Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House
- The WWE Capitol Punishment PPV reportedly did 200,000 buys. That would be up from the 2010 Fatal Four Way PPV, which was dropped for Capitol Punishment. That show did 143,000 buys.

Good news, especially for what I thought was a weak show.

Good amount there for a show that i thought wouldn't break 150K. But remember this is the early buyrate so it could change like OTL did. MITB PPV buys will be very interesting.

Cena-Truth got good build and was a breath of fresh air as Miz-Cena got stale ages ago. Couple that with the Christian heel turn giving some life to the SmackDown title match and Miz-Riley for the first time and it should surprise nobody that this was an improvement.

That's a pretty decent number considering how little build went into the show and how forgettable of a show it looked like on paper. Glad to see people weren't driven off by the thought of R-Truth in the main event.

Can't wait to see the numbers for Money in the Bank. I'm guessing it'll probably break into the 500,000 range, which would be a great number for a non Wrestlemania/Summerslam PPV.

As optimistic as I am when it comes to WWE, I doubt it'll go that much further over 300,000 tops. Most people are going to have raided a stream and got the show for free, which the UK did anyway.

Wow, that's quite the optimistic expectation.

Fingers and toes crossed.

Hey if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. It's just a guess on my part, but I really believe with all of the renewed interest that this Punk angle has caused that more people probably bought that show. Not only for the Punk/Cena match, but for the Money in the Bank matches as well, as everyone loves ladder matches. I honestly think it will have done pretty damn well, definitely above Capitol Punishment's numbers. Maybe 500,000 is being a bit too optimistic, but shit I'm just making an educated guess, no biggie if I'm wrong.

No really, I hope you're right. If that's the case, we'll never see the end of Punk and the budding Reality Era.

I'm surprised by that number. My guess is that the buys came from Christian vs. Orton and Miz vs. A-Ri, NOT R-Truth vs. Cena.

OK I made a topic about why the Wrestling Observer was calling the buyrate "horrible" and I couldn't figure out why so I emailed them, and apparently the buyrate for North America was only 83,000 which is the 4th lowest ever for a WWE PPV.

I have no idea why my topic was deleted BTW. I didn't get any message telling me of any infraction, the rules on these boards are absolutely mind boggling.
