Which would you prefer? The outcome is obvious. Most of you are used to the Cage, so it's the same as TNA having 6 sides. What you're used to is what's best. There's nothing wrong with that. But both have their merits. In regards to the Octagon, you'll never get a spectacular fall out of a cage, nor will you ever see the sight of lots of Japanese men trying to keep people in the Octagon. In regards to the ring, it can be very stop start when it comes to fights, and some fights end too quickly when somebody is backed in a corner with nowhere to go.

Which do you prefer?

I have been watching both caged and ring matches for a long time and i absolutely hate ring matches. I wouldn't mind it that much for the simple fact that when you get under ropes or to close you have to get up move to the center and start over. That completely messes up the momentum and sometimes even saves someones ass.

It's odd, on TV I like watching the cage matches more for some reason. However, if I actually attended a MMA event (which I've never have), I'm pretty certain I would prefer a ring over a cage in that instance simply because I'm positive I would be able to see a lot more action if they were in a ring instead of a cage.

But I think you're right though Jake. I guess I prefer the cage over ring on TV just because that's what I'm use to. I have a shit load of UFC DVDs, with only a couple of Pride ones, and I've just always liked the cage aspect more. It's what I'm more use to when watching MMA. I bet if they started putting boxing in cages I would hate it just because I'm not use to it. Change, most of the time, is not for the better when it comes to shit you already enjoy.
