And if it was WWE pointing to those great matches, and highlighting how awesome they were, you'd have the same problem with it, right?

If after that TLC match last night it cut backstage to Matt Striker and he said 'Yeah, not bad. But look how much better THIS match was....' and cut to a clip of the TLC WM 17 match, I imagine a lot of people would complain. Timing is all it is. If it happened earlier or much later it's no issue, but after watching the match, having nothing to say but basically 'mine was better'. Yeah, I think that's a bit shitty.

I'll take last night's match in a second. The original TLC matches were fun spotfests. Last night's was a personal war. They're completely different animals, and I know which I prefer.

A shame Bully is too self-involved to appreciate that. Creating personal investment in the action is part of what makes Bully's current run so great. He should know a good thing when he sees it.

Are there more tweets than are here? If not WTF is the matter with you people. New gen fans have too big a chip on their shoulder. CM Punk tweets way more self-involved things every other week.* Where did Bully say anything negative about whatever match we are talking about?

*I assume

Yes, Punk's a bitch. Yes, fans on the internet tend to be defensive. No, Ray didn't out-and-out say it was a bad match. No, I refuse to go any further down the rabbit hole with you, shattered.

I agree 100%.

What also helped Sunday's match was that there was nothing hanging over the ring to go up and grab. You had to win by pinfall or submission. Too many times in those TLC matches or in MITB the psychology gets thrown out the window because of the fact you have to climb the ladder and grab something to win. It's like whenever someone does a huge spot, you can't help but think to yourself, "Why doesn't he just go up there and grab the belts instead of leaping off the ladder to hit someone, injuring himself more than the guy he hit?" And when they do attempt go grab the belts, it's completely apparent what's going to happen next.

Perfect example last night of why the match worked better because there was nothing at stake hanging over the ring was how The Shield was able to isolate their opponents throughout the match. They would have never been able to do something like that if they had to climb the ladder to grab a belt or contract or whatever, because every time they would have a second to themselves, they would have to climb the damn ladder and try to retrieve whatever was up there. But last night, they were able to stand guard when they had the upper hand and it worked beautifully.

I don't care what anyone says that TLC match was crazy, it was intense and it was AWESOME. It deserves to be up there as one of the best TLC matches in history next to TLC 1, 2, and Edge/Flair.
