I'm kind of almost beginning to think that they would've held off inducting Mick Foley this year, if they had known from the get go that Bruno and Bob would accept the HOF invites. According to reports, Bruno didn't officially agree until Feb 1, which was at least a few weeks after Foley was first announced.
I think they decided to go with Mick Foley first as a headliner, because they knew he would accept, and he is a big enough draw and name to headline, in case Bob and Bruno had once again turned down the offers. Now, Mick is kind of in a rut, as he's gonna have to take a backseat to Bruno, and really Bob as well. Heck, so is Trish (if there is any female that could've potentially headlined a HOF class, it's Trish).
So yeah, I think Mick was more of a backup to headline in case Bruno and Bob didn't accept. Though I think in the fans' eyes, I think Mick is more the second fiddle (behind Bruno) rather than the third fiddle (behind Bob and Bruno).
And while I don't think WWE need to stop here with inductees, I do feel they need to stop with big name inductees. Which means, I sincerely hope that they don't also induct D-Generation X too. Cause then Mick and Bob will go back and forth between third and fourth fiddle, which would be a major insult to both men. And inducting D-X and Bruno, well that just doesn't seem right at all lol. I don't think Bruno would appreciate being on stage and seeing Triple H and HBK yell "Suck It" to the crowd. Yeah, I actually think the class could be ruined if D-X gets inducted this year as well. I say, save them for next year. Maybe have Macho Man, Jake the Snake, and D-X in one class. That could almost rival this year's if they go that route.
Instead, round out the class (there's usually about 7-8 inductees for the record) with a good mid-carder, a good celebrity (which with Bruno going in, and his long-term complaints about celebrities getting better treatment than the wrestlers, and just being against celebrities' involvement in general could put a hindrance to that), a good tag team and wrap it up.
For the mid carder slot, Bam Bam Bigelow would be my top choice. He's actually more than a mid-carder as he did headline a Wrestlemania, but at the same time he's not bigger than Foley, Backlund, or Bruno, so he would be another great candidate, not only for his credentials, but also because he won't overshadow an already crowded group of "headliner" inductees. And he came from Jersey, which further adds to the theme of this year's inductees (New York-based inductees). Although it seems that Kamala is the most likely choice. That would work too.
As far as tag teams/stables, again hold off on D-Generation X and save that for another year. I think they should go with either the Freebirds or Demolition. To me those are the two biggest snubs amongst tag teams, not counting teams that would have future singles stars.
If you a combo of Bam Bam/Kamala and Demoltion/Freebirds, that would wrap the class up very nicely in my book.
