Braun Strowman Out For Up To 6 Months

The Life Of Pablo Ren

I know my name/avi/sig don't match.
From Pro Wrestling Sheet:

Braun Strowman is scheduled to be out of action following tonight’s Raw taping to undergo a minor procedure to fix some issues with his elbow.

Sources tell us Strowman will be gone four to eight weeks due to the undisclosed injury/surgery, causing creative to re-tool plans for Extreme Rules and Great Balls of Fire.

Braun’s character on TV is supposedly suffering from a torn rotator cuff — even though he’s been wrestling Roman Reigns in street fights on the UK/European tour — and his injury angle was furthered at the TV taping tonight to officially give him time to get fixed up.

Strowman came out in a sling to wrestle Kalisto, but Reigns quickly interrupted. The segment ended with Roman hitting Braun’s arm with a steel chair on the steps.
This does maybe explain WWE saying Braun had a torn rotator cuff? Even though that is still a far more serious injury than what's being reported here. In any event it will be interesting to see how WWE goes from here as it seems like Braun was a huge part of future plans.

Oh man this is a big one and it's a good thing it's not too long a period. Braun is getting some serious steam, and don't get me wrong, he isn't going to lose it by him being gone a little while, but poor Raw. Strowman has to be one of the most consistent parts of the show, even if it is against Kalisto in a dumpster match. Nevertheless, the show goes on. I suppose it's a good thing Brock won't be at Extreme Rules, if Braun is the next challenger that is. Perhaps this is an opportunity to see, when Braun returns, what the reaction is, so WWE can truly gauge the potential he has.

Well, maybe next time he shouldnt be lifting around 10000 pounds ambulance car.

Joking of course, sucks for him a lot. He was due to get over Reigns(if plan was to get him to Brock cant see any other way) and getting at least title match with Brock. Guess they could just postpone that a bit, but now they maybe scrap that and give that shot at Rollins or maybe Balor. Shame because he was in the middle of his monster push. Reigns got him just to get to Taker at Mania and now again he had his momentum taken by injury.

Well this is a spoiler...

It sucks as they probably will need to rush Roman back and put him in another storyline. That would screw this feud and Roman's injury angle up. Otherwise they will have two top guys out on a 3 hour show. They cannot afford something like that.

Damn.

Most Interesting aspect of Raw is gone for 1-2 months. Braun Strowman has been the most entertaining and interesting out of the whole Raw and now I'm going to miss him a lot.

I wonder if this injury will affect his push directly or indirectly. I don't think that Braun Strowman will defeat Brock Lesnar now. Even before this injury, the chances were low and I don't have any hope left now.

Still, wishing a healthy and fast recovery to Braun Strowman. He's the real champion who was actually carrying Raw. Unlike the paper champion who's sitting at home and enjoying doing nothing for the fans.

Not necessarily a bad thing. He's facing Lesnar and losing. If he misses Grateley Balls of Fire plans can change and he gets his shot further down the line, thus increasing his chances of dethroning Lesnar.

Strowman's elbow issue is something that could be a combination of things. It may be a combination of the years of extremely heavy weightlifting and all the various strange training Strowman has done as part of being in Strongman competitions. That, coupled with the wear & tear of pro wrestling, could easily be the cause of whatever these issues with his elbow are.

But yeah, it sucks for Strowman and this will definitely impact things for a bit. It's possible that Strowman vs. Lesnar won't happen until later, possibly for SummerSlam, but that might make it all the more interesting. I don't see them having Lesnar just decimate and dominate Strowman, he's been built up too much for that and it'd be such an absolutely MASSIVE waste of the time, energy and effort that's been put into the build of Strowman for him to simply be fed to Lesnar. I never thought he'd win, but I do believe he'll give Lesnar a competitive match. If Lesnar vs. Strowman doesn't happen at GBOF, then it'll probably be Seth Rollins or Finn Balor.

I think Strowman vs Reigns is gonna be one of the most memorable feuds of this era. These small things are gonna be the highlights of their career. After 10 years when we'll look back, we'll see this feud as the highlight of the bygone era.

That said, I don't think this is leading to some big loss. It may affect the programming momentarily but WWE will get over this and so will Reigns and Strowman.

Remember when Austin was injured, but continued his feud with Vince?
Think, creative team, think...
Make it a competition between Roman and Braun on Raw - how many jobbers they can beat at the same time, make them a team to take on "an army" on Extreme Rules, make backstage brawls...continue the feud God damn it, find a way!

Here is my idea, with Strowman out for now, creative could put Roman vs Brock easily, all they have to do is have Roman come out and cut a promo about how he shelved Strowman and this is his yard prompting Brock to come out and state since he is the Champ this is his yard, match sets up for PPV!

As for who wins, I would have Roman win over Brock, Roman has lots of heat right now with the crowd so putting the title on him would add to it because the crowd wants to see Roman beat, so have Roman beat Brock!
Now with Roman having the title him facing Strowman would make the match that much more, have Strowman destroy Roman taking his title and causing him to miss some time, prompting Strowman to come on Raw stating he is unstoppable prompting Brock to come out and state since he never got his rematch and Roman is no longer champ Brock vs Strowman sets up!

As for who wins, Brock is part time and we never see him or the title, WWE is building Strowman up to be this unstoppable monster, why not have Brock put Strowman over to help build up this unstoppable monster character.

After that, WWE can book Strowman as unstoppable for a while!

Dang this sucks. Strowman has been one of the most entertaining wrestlers on Raw, so he will be missed.

He's probably going to miss Great Balls of Fire (I feel ******ed typing that out), but Rollins, Balor, or maybe even Reigns can take his place.

In the long run, this probably won't hurt him too much. He'll be back entertaining as ever and hopefully get a competitive match with Lesnar.

He may get over Roman in a couple of battles, but no way do i see Vince letting him win the war.
He could face Brock as well regardless, but we all know Vince is setting up Roman vs Brock down the road with Roman going over. Unfortunately
I would much rather see Balor, or even Rollins take it.

Hmm, how about triple threat Braun vs Lesnar vs Reigns - Reigns pins Brock after Braun's finisher to win the title, so both of them protected and can continue their war on a new level?

Update from WWE.com:

Braun Strowman underwent surgery following the attack by Roman Reigns last Monday on Raw, WWE.com can now confirm.

Immediately after the assault on Strowman’s injured shoulder and elbow by the former WWE Champion, The Monster Among Men left Raw in an ambulance and was able to get back to the United States for an evaluation this past Wednesday. Following the medical consultation, Strowman underwent surgery on Thursday in Birmingham, Ala. with Dr. Jeffrey Dugas. During the procedure, it was revealed, among his other injuries, that Strowman’s elbow had been shattered, and he is expected to miss up to six months of action as a result.

Check back with WWE.com and tune in to Raw tonight at 8/7 C on USA Network for more on this developing situation.
6 months is a HUGE blow for both WWE and Strowman. He will certainly be missed. Maybe WWE is trying to exaggerate the injury so Strowman can come back in 1-2 months and look like a monster? It's possible but doubtful.

If strowman is truly out for 6 months like wwe.com as reported, that's a really huge lost for Raw that truly need main eventers especially heels because they really don't have anybody on that roster that's at the level Strowman was right now.

Maybe this will be a chance for somebody like Samoa Joe, who lost a lot of steam since his debut in february, to try and get over as this unstoppable monster. Maybe get Miz over as a top heel. I don't know what they could do long terms to replace him.

That also leave a huge void in the universal picture mostly for the same reason that all the guys that lesnar could face would need to pretty much get a rocket attach to them in the next few months to be able to gain momentum and look believable in a match with lesnar.

If he's out for 6 months as the reports say, my guess is that the doctors were able to tell that whatever problems he was having with his arm were much more serious than they'd thought. Sometimes, X-rays or MIRs don't tell the whole story and they have to get you on the table and opened up to really see how bad things are. It's lousy when someone's out that long, but it's all the worse when that someone's doing a good job and is in the midst of a major push. We've seen it with Rollins, Bryan and Balor over the past several years and now it's gotten Strowman.

It's possible this could be a blessing in disguise, depending on whether or not Vince is willing to tinker with his master plan regarding Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar for WrestleMania next year.

Is there anything to go on besides what reads as a kayfabe report released by the company's official website that helps to further the already hyperbolic account of the injury that was reported during the TV broadcasts?

Until anything else comes out, I'm taking this "update" with a whole truck full of salt.

While still skeptical, based on the first hour of RAW it seems WWE's going in a definite new direction. IF Braun was supposed to face Brock in July and the prognosis was still 1-2 months, I doubt they would've done a such drastic 180 as quick as they did. They most likely would hold it off for a few weeks to see how Braun was healing and then go from there. They could still be exaggerating the injury but I feel confident he'll be sidelined at least through July.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer, the 6 month timeline is indeed a work and comes about as a result of WWE changing plans with Strowman. Meltzer states that the idea is for Strowman to face Lesnar at SummerSlam while someone else takes on Lesnar in July at GBOF, with said opponent likely being either Seth Rollins or Finn Balor, and that Strowman is expected to return to action in July.

So IF Meltzer's report is legit, Lesnar vs. Strowman just became a much bigger deal as it'll go down at SummerSlam. The odds of Strowman actually capturing the title have probably gone up as SummerSlam is the 2nd biggest show of the year, though I think Strowman would still be the underdog.

Yeah I really doubt Strowman will be out 6 months. It's possibly but highly unlikely.

Also I would love to see Strowman vs. Lesnar for the title at SummerSlam. Should be a great match, as long as it's not a squash.
