Bound For Glory: Jeff Jarrett v. Kurt Angle

Although not confirmed, it looks like instead of the match most people predicted, and the match TNA have hinted at. Jarrett vs. Angle. It looks like we'll be getting Angle vs. Foley instead.

I for one think this is great. Jarrett is a big TNA name, not a big wrestling name. He has his fans. But he doesn't have nowhere near as many as Foley. Even if Foley is totally out of shape and nearly 10 years after he stopped wrestling full time. This is after all, ''TNA's biggest show of the year'', so for that show they need the biggest matches possible. Of which Angle/Foley is one.

I like Jarrett. But I certainly think he's overpushed. He's a part time world champion, like Big Show. But never a full time champion. And the way TNA is today, he really isn't one fo the big stars.

I'm gonna be disagreeing with you here on this note. Mick Foley against Kurt Angle is a mismatch made in hell. I'm sure Foley will get pops, and I'm sure Angle will do his best in carrying Foley in a match the way Jarrett and Angle likely couldn't.

I think if a weapon is to be seen around ringside, and Angle gets hit by it, by Foley, that'll be enough to make the fans in the iMPACT! zone (or I guess it'll be Chicago) to go crazy. Whereas a mat wrestling contest between Jarrett and Angle would be great to see, but likely pack no punch to most as far as 'exciting' would go.

I still fail to see how you lead up monthes of building an Angle/Jarrett showdown, only to bring in a guy that'll roughly be with the company for what.. a couple weeks? Then he'll return to the W.W.E. to refeud with Ric Flair, or Terry Funk, or Undertaker or Edge?!

So how is Kurt Angle winning (much less losing) helping T.N.A.? How is pushing Mick Foley for a limited basis, outside of his fans, helping T.N.A.? Sure.. as you said, Foley has a ton of fans.. but Foley isn't any type of support or backbone for T.N.A.. which means, the SAME fans would show up to watch the event.. if Foley were to be apart of it in some interaction with say.. Abyss?

In my opinion, I'm still holding out hope that Angle v. Foley is an iMPACT! taping build-up to Bound For Glory, in which Jarrett v. Angle DOES happen. But if Angle v. Foley happens, I can only wish for T.N.A. to do what it does best.. and gimmick it up, because the only thing that's sold Foley throughout the years.. has been violence.

Most Foley matches are miss matches. Nobody is supposed to have good matches with the fat hobo looking guy. But they do. Gimmick or not. Foley will do just as much for Angle as Angle will for him.

While I think that a weapon match would be needed to make it truly great. I don't think that should effect the fans. They'll pop anyway. It is Foley vs. Angle after all. A brand new match. A dream match to some.

Whereas a mat wrestling contest between Jarrett and Angle would be great to see, but likely pack no punch to most as far as 'exciting' would go.

Are fans really happy to see Jarrett back? 2 years ago people were happy he left. Now he's come back it could well be because it's been a while since they've seen him. In a few weeks he'll probably be on most fans shit list.

I still fail to see how you lead up monthes of building an Angle/Jarrett showdown, only to bring in a guy that'll roughly be with the company for what.. a couple weeks?

If it's a couple of weeks, which I don't think it is, then isn't it better to have it now? If he's leaving it's a missed oppertunity.

Then he'll return to the W.W.E. to refeud with Ric Flair, or Terry Funk, or Undertaker or Edge?!

Don't count on it.

So how is Kurt Angle winning (much less losing) helping T.N.A.?

It'll sell. You can say Jarrett/Angle is. It might, but I doubt it. Jarrett didn't before, so why now? But Foley/Angle is a match that could get a few buys. The quality of the match shouldn't come into it from TNA's perspective. By the time the match happens, TNA has the fans money.

How is pushing Mick Foley for a limited basis, outside of his fans, helping T.N.A.?

He's Mick Foley. Bigger than Christian Cage, Booker T, Samoa Joe and possibly even Kurt Angle.

Sure.. as you said, Foley has a ton of fans.. but Foley isn't any type of support or backbone for T.N.A.. which means, the SAME fans would show up to watch the event.. if Foley were to be apart of it in some interaction with say.. Abyss?

But Bound For Glory is supposed to be the big show. And the big show needs a big match. So they may as well take advantage of him while he's new.

If it's a weapon match then it's [possible it'll turn out even better than Foley/Edge. After all, Angle will do ANYTHING.

Officially confirmed on iMPACT! tonight, Kurt Angle v. Jeff Jarrett at Bound For Glory. I can't believe it, T.N.A. finally did something right. Let's just hope they don't end up cancelling the match, or finding a way to screw it up.

My guess is Mick Foley will end up the Special Referee in either this match, or the Samoa Joe/Sting contest. Either way, he'll ref - not wrestle. And that's about the best thing Mick Foley could do in a situation like this.

I am thrilled as could be that Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle are going to meet up, and having it on this p.p.v. is going to be the best thing that ever happened to T.N.A. in my opinion.

A lot of people don't give Jarrett the type of credit he deserves, but to be honest, I think this match is going to show everyone just how good Jarrett really is. (short of him having major ring-rust) I could also see Jarrett losing, kinda in a symbolic way of "passing the torch".

Mick Foley, if involved, will likely be the outcome in this match. I really can't say I wanna see Foley against Angle, and to be honest I don't like the thought of Foley turning on Jarrett and feuding against him either. Who knows on that part.

Well it's the match they've been looking to make for a while. I think they could have done it better. I would have prefered it if Angle had been champion and they were looking for somebody to stop him. Bring in Jarrett and have him stop him, even if it was only for a couple of weeks.

But I really don't think this should lead to another big push for Jarrett. He should get a Cage push. Solid, up there. But past the point where they should have him carry the company. TNA has moved on without Jarrett.

He's bring as hell. And I've never seen him as a main event wrestler. But he's a great wrestler and he could do a lot for some of the mid card wrestlers.

Well, last night it's been confirmed that Foley will be special referee for the match. So far the build up for the match has been pretty decent. My guess is this match will be better than Sting vs. Joe.
