OK, OK, OK. A modern-day BT? Right after WrestleMania? How cliche, GCB! What are you thinking?
Well, I'm thinking that I try this out and see what I think. I've got no long term plan. I've got two weeks of shows to write before Extreme Rules. I'll write them, post them, I'll even write Extreme Rules. And then ... I'll make some decisions. If I know me - and let's face it, I should - this will do one of two things. It'll fizzle out like so many aborted BT's I've done, did. Or I'll capture my imagination like I did with one other BT and I'll find myself coming up with ideas for TV and PPV while I'm sat having a sh ... dumpski. Truth is that I like the modern day WWE right now, there's so much talent. And so many potential storylines. What do you do with Brock Lesnar now that the Streak has been broken? Hell, what do you do with Undertaker? What about the CM Punk situation? How do you build Bryan even further without him becoming the second coming of Cena? How do you write Cena without making him heel? {I've done that once, it didn't really work for me} How do you break up the Shield? Do you break up the Shield? So, sorry Notorious lad, GCB is wading in with a modern day BT.
Now, a challenge for you all: for too long, my show was top of the charts around here. I'm not being arrogant, the numbers spoke for themselves. 20+ pages, multiple PPV's, 50000 (nearly) views. There were some worthy challenges, guys that inspired me to improve my own show but they fizzled out (Prophet, JAM) or took too long (Peep, Theo) ... There were some promising new stars of the BT section but they couldn't find consistency. There were some, let's be honest, god-awful efforts - I'm looking at you, Choxy. BT used to be great but now it is dead. Come build it with me. Challenge me. Inspire me. Beat me.
