Book a realistic one off WCW return PPV

Just Do It

Getting Noticed By Management
Imagine if WWE booked a WCW PPV special for the Network. It would garner a LOT of attention, even if the results were not very good artistically within the parameters of older talent.

Personally, I can't see Goldberg being involved in a nostaligia show. The guy still has MASSIVE value on the main WWE stage for a Wrestlemania return , so I'm leaving him off my show as I don't think it's realistic.

They have the old Nitro set, so that would be used. Commentators: Tony and Tenay.

Sting vs Vader

Scott Steiner vs Booker T

Eric Bischoff promo.

Rey Mysterio vs Juventud Guerrera

Syxx (w/ Scott Hall and Kevin Nash) vs Chris Jericho

DDP vs Lord Steven Regal

A nice little show I think which would produce a fun night of wrestling. THere is zero chance this wouldn't garner more attention than any WWE B PPV in 2016...

It's a good idea, and something I've wished they would do for a very long time. But a real WCW one night only show needs the 4 Horsemen and in particular Ric Flair, Lex Luger, Buff Bagwell, Rick Steiner, among others. And Goldberg should be involved as well. It would take me some time to make a valid card, so I'll come back later for that.

Sting v Goldberg (special referee Ric Flair)

Steiner Brothers v Harlem Heat

Filthy Animals (Konan, Kidman & Mysterio) v Latino World Order (Juventud Guerrera, Psychosis & Chavo Guerraro) Eddie Guerraro Memorial match

Chris Jericho v The Giant (aka Big Show)

NWO (Hall and Nash with Xpac) v Diamond Dallas Page & Buff Bagwell

'Sugar' Shane Helms v Shannon Moore

Lance Storm v Shane Douglas

Raven v Billy Kidman

Scott Steiner w/Rick Steiner vs Booker T w/Stevie Ray - Rematch of the last World title match. Turns into a tag match of Steiner Brothers vs Harlem Heat

Kevin Nash vs The Giant - Enjoyed this feud in '98. Especially the "broken neck" Giant suffered from the Powerbomb. The Giant breaking out of chain cuffs to go after Nash.

Norman Smiley vs Meng - To see the Big Wiggle one more time. This match could maybe feature Finley as well. Smiley was WCW's "Hardcore Legend". I'd involve Terry Funk here for a guest spot, maybe even take a bump. I chose Meng in this match because he's the last Hardcore champ.

Disco Inferno vs Buff Bagwell vs Hugh Morrus- Inferno and Buff were WCW core guys and had zero success after WCW closed it's doors. So it's only fitting to see this here. But who wouldn't want to see Hugh Morrus pull off that moonsault again?

Filthy Animals vs 3 Count - Simply because this only way I could see having Konnan involved.

Sting vs Hogan w/Ric Flair as special referee - Rematch of arguably the biggest rival in WCW.

Chris Jericho vs Dean Malenko - Would love to see them go at it one last time.

Goldberg vs DDP - Only match I could see putting Goldberg in.

WCW Power Plant Battle Royal/Macho Man Memorial Cup - Featuring Cruiserweights, Raven's Flock, Power Plant graduates, David Flair, Vampiro, Ernest Miller, Alex Wright/Berlyn, The Wall, Big Vito, ect

Location would have to be Atlanta.

Scott Steiner vs Booker T vs Jeff Jarrett

*All the remaining members of The 4 Horsemen come into the ring, Ric Flair does a speech*

Goldberg vs The Giant

Team WCW vs Team NWO
Ric Flair, Sting, Rick Steiner & Sid vs Kevin Nash, Syxx, Scott Norton & Buff Bagwell

Rey Mysterio & Billy Kidman vs Shane Helms & Shannon Moore

Disco Inferno vs Chavo Guerrero

Lance Storm vs Chris Jericho

20 Man Battle Royal
Dustin Rhodes, Brian Knobbs, Jerry Saggs, Raven, DDP, Hugh Morrus, Vincent, Stevie Ray, Vader, David Flair, Vampiro, Terry Funk, Jim Duggan, Fit Finlay, Perry Saturn, Big Vito, Crowbar, Hayashi, Wrath, Alex Wright.

*NWO come out and they have a little speech*

*The Nitro Girls Return

*Schiavone, Regal & Tenay commentate

Not a bad idea, i dont see why WWE couldnt turn 1 of there lower rated PPV's into a "WCW 1 night only" PPV, have Goldberg turn up on Raw at the announcement and you have his involvement there sorted. It would probably come with him having a Wrestlemania match too, it would have to only feature WCW stars, maybe WWE will make the exception of Cena, HHH etc but imo they shouldnt.

"WCW 1 Night Only" PPV

Sting VS Hulk Hogan

Cage match
Goldberg VS John Cena

Booker T w/ Stevie Ray VS Bubba Ray w/ D-Von

Submission match
Chris Jericho VS Rey Mysterio VS Chavo Guerrero

Ric Flair VS HHH

Tag Team match
Kevin Nash & Scott Hall VS The Big Show & Syxx

DDP VS Lance Storm

Ernest Miller VS Norman Smiley VS Vampiro VS Billy Kidman

In a dream world I would've been for a WCW PPV. I wouldn't want any type of one night only PPV with WWE's involvement. They'd still find a way to promote their overall brand.

Most of these guys can't realistically go anymore. NO Hogan match (except for an appearance maybe). Also, Goldberg HAS to be a headliner in it. Because he's still in very good shape, and was the best homegrown WCW babyface.
I'm booking best off of matches where both guys pair best together, to have a quality match, not necessarily off of history or anything.

Goldberg vs. Ryback
C'mon, it's a "dream match" of sorts. Even though Ryback isn't, nor ever will be, on the same level as Goldberg. It would garner interest. They pair up well too. Just build up Ryback as a monster heel in the months leading to.

Sting vs. Chris Jericho
To my knowledge they never fought, and do pair up well. This would could be the main event too, interchangeable with Goldberg/Ryback.

Harlem Heat vs. New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E)
A Harlem Heat reunion finally! I don't necessarily want this event to be WCW vs. WWE themed, but I'm having a hard time coming up with old school WCW guys, that can still go, that would make sense or that we'd want to see fight each other.

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Kevin Nash w/Scott Hall & Syxx
I can picture DDP coming out and cutting a promo, then Nash and the Wolfpac (with the NWO red and black and Wolfpac theme song!!) interrupt him. Nash acts like a smart ass and this becomes an impromptu singles match. Would be a pretty limited match-up but an exciting one with two exciting personalities. Hall and Syxx on the outside can provide some more to the match to make up for however limited Nash vs. DDP would be. Perhaps Scott Hall becomes conflicted at a certain point to cheat for Nash and to be fair with DDP, the guy who's been helping him change his life for the better.

Lord Steven Regal vs. Dustin Rhodes
Could be a Dusty Rhodes tribute match. With Regal taking Dustin to the limit and pulling out a surprisingly excellent, hard-hitting, match-up between two well-established veterans.

WCW Legends Battle Royal
For all the guys who probably can't put on a great match but probably can get physical enough for a battle royal or simply don't have any other place on the card; Meng, The Barbarian, Konnan, Scott Steiner (okay, maybe not him because he's freaking nuts!), Steve McMichael, Ricky Steamboat, Scott Norton, Sid Vicious, Jeff Jarrett, Disco Inferno, Lance Storm, Vampiro, Psychosis, La Parka, Juventud Guerrera, Ernest "The Cat" Miller. With the Final Four being Steamboat, Sid, Jarrett, and Steiner. With Steamboat last eliminating Jarrett.

Alex Wright vs. Cesaro
Wright was a good underrated technical wrestler, right? Why not this match then?? Wright is a fitness instructor now and runs his own small wrestling promotion in Germany. So he's still in shape and can still go! He's only 40 yrs old too. I think this can be a sleeper classic match-up.

Hugh Morris vs. Chavo Guerrero jr.
Good undercard filler match, would be great to see these guys again. With Chavo picking up the win in a high-flying contest.

Buff Bagwell vs. Johnny B. Badd
Marc Mero looks to be in great shape, even though he's been retired since 2006. This might be interesting. Bagwell can still go very good, seemingly. So I'd like for him to have a good match on this show, well, as good a match as Bagwell can have. Possibly getting the win by surprise interference by his old teammate Scotty Riggs.

I'd have Eric Bischoff open up the show, and surprise appearances by WCW legends throughout. Tony Schiavone and Mike Tenay on commentary of course and taking place in Atlanta, Georgia.

Given that Flair, Sting etc. weren't with WWE for a while, I'm surprised there hasn't been some sort of reunion show like what Shane Douglas did with ECW talents.

ECW still had a fanbase when they went under. Lack of funds, TV deal, advertisement and Spike TV's wanting WWE more than them is what took them under. Plus they had a roster of guys that seemingly only Paul Heyman could properly use to his advantage. Any of those guys that jumped ship to WCW or WWE failed towards the end. Which is why a ECW reunion is more favorable.

WCW went under because of total lack of interest from the fans and AOL/Time Warner. WCW failed to start building up stars until it was too late and people got tired of the NWO angle and aging guys like Flair and Hogan still competing in the main event. People just lost interest and many jumped to WCW to secure a big contract and work less dates. How many people do you hear chanting "WCW" at events? WCW was filled with talent that left WWE or ECW and they failed to produce many homegrown talents with Goldberg and DDP arguably being their biggest two.

Imagine this; RVD, Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, Sabu, Shane Douglas, Dudleyz Dudleyz, etc. You can build a reunion show for ECW off those guys and have a pretty successful show.

Imagine the cost of securing the likes of Hogan, Flair, Nash, Jericho, Hall, Mysterio, Steiners, Booker T, DDP for a WCW reunion. Wouldn't be cheap now would it? Outside of WWE, who could fund that type of reunion?

Your best bet is to just enjoy the Crocket/WCW material that we have on the Network and hope to catch these guys at an autograph signing or Indy show.

Given that Flair, Sting etc. weren't with WWE for a while, I'm surprised there hasn't been some sort of reunion show like what Shane Douglas did with ECW talents.

I'm not surprised in the slightest. ECW was a promotion where the workers actually cared enough about the promotion. They put ECW above their families at times. They worked for no money or very little to help the company out. No one in WCW did that. WCW was all about themselves. Long as the worker was making the dollar they didn't care about the promotion.

Seeing the ECW guys cry and say goodbye at ONS was fitting and not phoney. The only guys at a WCW reunion that would have that entitlement are Sting and Flair. Anyone else like Hall, Hogan, Nash, Goldberg etc getting emotional would suck and make me laugh at their falseness.

ECW was mostly a brotherhood where even when workers left they still loved the promotion. When people left WCW they couldn't get away fast enough.

That's why a WCW show would never work even if some magic powers made all ex WCW wrestlers alive and in their prime again.

Yeah, but look what that got virtually all of the ECW guys: little more than a body full of scar tissue and memories. Passion is a great thing, don't get me wrong, but a lot of these guys were idiotic putting themselves through the physical hell that was ECW for virtually nothing. All most of them have left are memories and bodies full of scar tissue.

As to the topic, a WCW reunion show just doesn't seem at all feasible and a lot of the ideas I've read don't seem the least bit realistic.

In Scott Steiner's case, he has issues with the McMahon family that are unlikely to be resolved. I don't know if Steiner's just done too many steroids or if he's just naturally immature, but he has the emotional maturity of a hot headed 16 year old boy and would be a powder keg waiting to go off.

WWE would be unlikely to put Sting in another match as his neck injury is said to be pretty serious. Given his age, there's a good possibility he may never fully recover from it to the point where WWE would feel comfortable putting him in the ring again.

Ric Flair wouldn't be cleared to wrestle, which is a good thing, seeing as how the last few times he wrestled in TNA resulted in him getting hurt.

Hulk Hogan will not be wrestling in WWE again due to medical reasons and, let's face it, he won't be brought back anytime soon as WWE would face backlash due to the phone conversation containing Hogan's racist remarks earlier this year.

Goldberg would be unlikely to appear as he also has issues with the McMahons and he'd want an outrageous sum of money to do it. Plus, even though he looks to be in great physical shape, the man hasn't wrestled in well over a decade so there's no telling what sort of ring shape he might be in.

Jeff Jarrett is busy trying to get GFW going and, rightly so, it's where all his energy is focused. He might consider it if he was allowed to plug GFW, but that's almost certainly not gonna happen as WWE does as little as possible to give any sort of publicity to rival wrestling organizations.

Hall & Nash may or may not be medically cleared. Nash's knees are in bad shape, he's in his 50s and while Hall may be sober, he's definitely not in any degree of ring shape and I've no idea if he has any sort of nagging injuries or medical conditions that'd keep him on the shelf.

Rey Mysterio could probably be convinced to show up, provided he also gets a big enough payday.

Buff Bagwell was in a serious car accident back in 2012 that resulted in severe injuries and he suffered the crash due to having a seizure. He's made a recovery, as he's been wrestling on the indie scene, but there's no telling if he'd pass WWE's medical tests. Also, if I'm not mistaken, WWE may want to avoid any sort of embarrassment as, if I remember correctly, Buff was working for a male escort service at some point within the past few years.

DDP is a possibility, though I don't know how much interest he'd have in doing it.

As for guys like Alex Wright, wherever the hell he is, Juventud Guerrera, Fit Finlay, Disco Inferno, Van Hammer, Steve McMichael, Scott Norton and various other second stringers, nobody's gonna give a damn except the hardest of hardcore WCW nostalgiaholics. Guys from the earlier days of WCW like the Rock n Roll Express, Brad Armstrong, Mike Rotunda and various others are either too old and/or wouldn't be recognized by many fans.

As far as a realistic card goes, I could see something like this:

Booker T vs. Ron Simmons
Big Van Vader vs. Sid Vicious
Lord Steven Regal vs. Squire Dave Taylor
Chris Jericho vs. Syxx
"Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright vs. Disco Inferno
Billy Kidman vs. Juventud Guerrera

Mine was more of a fantasy card than realistic. Majority of the main eventers either are too old or physically unable to compete or would demand too much money. Moments like Sting vs Triple H at WM is as close to a WCW reunion as it gets. Even though Sting spent the better part of the late 90s battling Hogan and NWO black and white.

In 2016 this is a TERRIBLE IDEA.....anyone that fans would consider main event talent other than MAYBE Vader are so old or injured they cant compete. And quite honestly, a few of them are dead!

In 2005 or 2006 this wouldn't have been so bad because just about every major name you could think of from 1990 on was still around and in good enough shape to compete. Maybe you couldn't have gotten any of The Four Horsemen (other than Flair) or Dusty Rhodes but there were a lot of major names who could still go in the ring.....

* Ultimate Rivalry - Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage - Steel Cage/No DQ

* King of WCW Match: Ric Flair (w/ Arn Anderson) vs Sting (w/ Lex Luger) with Dusty Rhodes as Special Guest Ref

* WCW vs NWO - Goldberg & DDP vs Kevin Nash & Scott Hall (w/ Eric Bischoff) - Elimination Tag Match w/ Randy Anderson as Ref

* Hardcore Rules: Cactus Jack vs Vader

* WCW vs NWO - Cruiserweight Edition - Rey Misterio Jr vs Syxx

* "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner vs The Giant

* Booker T vs Chris Jericho - Best of 3 Falls

* Forgotten Super Stars Battle Royal - Buff Bagwell, Johnny B Badd, Steven Regal, VK Wallstreet, Eric Watts, Tom Zenk, Ron Simmons, Sid Justice, Chavo Guerrero, Meng, Bobby Eaton, Great Mutah, Barry Whyndam, Konan, The Rock & Roll Express

I left out Benoit & Eddie Guerrero is this is pretty close to the time they died. No Steve Austin due to his back injury forced retirement, no Brian Pillman (dead), Luger & Arn Anderson are not used as wrestlers due to their respective health issues at this time, Rick Rude I believe was dead by this time (and retired due to injury regardless), many other stars were just too old by 2005-06 to be considered able to compete (Dusty Rhodes, Tully Blanchard, etc)

6.) Sting vs. Chris Jericho

5.) Goldberg vs. Ryback

4.) AJ Styles vs. Rey Mysterio

3.) Syxx vs. Booker T

2.) Kevin Nash vs. Big Show

1.) Lance Storm vs. Chavo Guerrero

It can still be a decent event in 2016 but if Goldberg is going to wrestle again he needs to wrestle Ryback.

Too make it more realistic if Sting is for sure not wrestling again Y2Js match would have to be demoted to a midcard match with Disco Inferno which Y2J is pretty much a midcarder 4 life these days. Still it doesn't seem like a bad event. Although this event wouldn't have anywhere near the passion that the One Night Stand events did as no one in WCW gave a fuck during it's final years. This would just be a extra something to give the subscribers to watch. More live wrestling events on the network would be great for value.

There was a thread like this a couple of years ago, that I posted a long reply to. I've tried quoting my original post but as it's in the archives now I didn't seem to be able to, so I've put it in italics below. Most of my opinions are still the same, but obviously the deaths of Piper/Dusty and the blacklisting of Hogan mean it couldn't be exactly the same card.

I still think it would make for an enjoyable show, though.

I would have liked to have seen a WCW reunion "One Night Stand" idea about 10 years ago, in about 2004/5. The problem with doing one now is that WCW's top stars were almost all veterans when the promotion ended- Flair, Sting, Nash, Luger etc and are a hell of lot older now, and many are retired/semi-retired. They could still appear as special guests, but most wouldn't be able to compete in the ring.

I think there is just enough talent to make this work, but it would have to be done very soon, rather than waiting any longer.

If WWE were really serious about doing this, here is a list of performers I could see them contacting:

Kevin Nash- still wrestles occasionally on the indies- would probably come back for 1 match
"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan - Back with WWE, could dress in the black/white one more time
Goldberg- WCW's last great star, may not be interested but WWE would love to get him
Sting-We all know the story with Sting, and if he does sign a WWE deal, this could be one of his rare appearances.
Ric Flair- Would almost certainly appear, probably as a manager or as guest host
Chris Jericho- On good terms with WWE and would be open to return.
Rey Mysterio- Still in WWE and could add the "Jr" back to his name for the night
Big Show-Still in WWE and could be renamed "The Giant" again
Booker T- Still contracted to WWE and could get back in the ring for 1 night
Paul Heyman-Still in WWE and could be renamed "Paul E Dangerously" for 1 night
Steve Austin- Contracted on a WWE legends deal
DDP- Contracted to WWE on a legends deal and still makes the odd indie appearance
Sean Waltman-Contracted to WWE on a legends deal and still wrestles on the indies- could be renamed "Syxx" for the night.
Bret "Hitman" Hart-Contracted to WWE on a legends deal, often appears on TV.
Sid Vicious-Appeared in WWE last year- could wrestle a short match
Vader- appeared in WWE last year- still wrestles on the indies.
Scott Steiner- Still active on the indies
William Regal-Still in WWE, could be renamed "Steven Regal" for the night.
Scott Hall-Healthy again and could manage Nash/Waltman
Norman Smiley- Works in WWE developmental- could appear and do the "big wiggle"
Mick Foley- Still contracted to WWE and could be renamed "Cactus Jack" for the night
Bill DeMott-Works in WWE developmental- could be renamed "Hugh Morrus" for the night
Dusty Rhodes-contracted to a WWE legends deal, could manage his son.
Goldust- Still with WWE, could be renamed "Dustin Rhodes" for the night.
Harley Race-Contracted to WWE legends deal- could manage someone.
Stacy Keibler-Rumoured to be open to a one-off return to WWE.
Ron Simmons-Contracted to a WWE legends deal, could manage someone.
Torrie Wilson- Would almost certainly be offered a 1 night return

There are plenty of other wrestlers that could appear who are still active/semi-active:

Juventud Guerrera
Pcicosis
Terry Funk
Lance Storm
La Parka
Stevie Richards
Perry Saturn
Buff Bagwell
Stevie Ray
Ultimo Dragon
Shane Helms
Vampiro
Raven
Billy Kidman (I think he may still be with WWE in some role)
Shannon Moore

This is the card I would like to see if the PPV happened.

Sting w/ Ric Flair vs Chris Jericho w/Bret Hart

Kevin Nash & Sean Waltman w/Scott Hall & Hollywood Hogan vs The Steiners

Goldberg in a gauntlet match v all of 3-Count, then a final challenger comes out, giving us:
Goldberg vs Diamond Dallas Page

The Giant w/the nWo vs Booker T w/Stevie Ray & Sharmell

Dustin Rhodes & Cody Rhodes w/ Dusty Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio Jr & Chavo Guerrero Jr

Juventud Guerrera vs Pcicosis vs Ultimo Dragon

Lance Storm vs Steven Regal

15 man Battle Royal featuring:
Sid Vicious, Vader, Fit Finlay, Norman Smiley, Raven, Jim Duggan, Crowbar, Perry Saturn, Stevie Richards, Terry Funk, Buff Bagwell, Ron Simmons, Scorpio, Chuck Palumbo, Vampiro, Billy Kidman

A WCW version of Piper's Pit featuring Stunning Steve Austin & Paul E Dangerously

Eric Bischoff would introduce the show and be the "Host"

"Mean" Gene Okerlund and David Penzer would share announcing duties

Tony Schiavone and Paul E Dangerously would be the commentators

"Little Naitch" Charles Robinson and Nick Patrick would referee.

There would be cameo appearances, interviews and skits with Harley Race, Ricky Steamboat, Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko and others.

MAIN EVENT
Goldberg vs Chris Jericho

Jeff Jarrett vs Booker T

Sting vs great muta

3 count vs the Steiners

Vampiro vs Ray mysterio

20 MAN BATTLE ROYAL

Steven Regal, Sid, crowbar, Raven, DDP, Lance Storm, Jim Duggan, Dustin Rhodes, Johnny the bull, Disco Inferno, Meng, Barbarian, big Vito, knobs, Saggs, konnan, psicosis, Juventud Guerrera, Glacier, Scott norton.

Buff Bagwell vs Mark Jindrak

Vader vs Chavo Guerrero

At this stage, it's almost impossible to do... but I'll give it a go, but most matches will be a WCW vs WWE format...not all, but most...

Opening Match

Alex Wright vs Tyler Breeze

A good solid opener, Wright was at the Performance Centre when Breeze was, so they'd be familiar with each other. Personally I go with Berlyn gimmick over "Dancing" Alex... Alex picks up the win.

Cruiserweight Celebration Match (6 Way)

Rey Mysterio vs Billy Kidman vs The Brian Kendrick vs Juventud Guerrera vs Kalisto vs Tajiri - Special Guest Referee: Dean Malenko

So many of the better cruisers would be too old to make this work now... but these could make it work.... Who gets the win is difficult, head says Rey but heard gives it to Kidman, harking back to his big upset with Hogan.

6 Man Tag Match

The NWO (Nash, Hall & Waltman) vs Team DDP (Diamond Dallas Page, Jake "The Snake" & Mick Foley)

A good old fashioned 6 man tag - with the twist that Hall turns on the NWO to help "pay Dallas back"...

Goldberg vs Batista

Forget Ryback - this needs to sell, and Batista is a big name these days in the real world... who wins, well I'd give it to Dave as I HATE Goldberg, but it probably wouldn't be best for business.

Ric Flair vs Daniel Bryan

Both men can wrestle one more time... and it'd be a low impact, technical match. I'd say go 30 minute Iron Man but not sure Naitch could get close to that now so will go with a 2 out of 3 falls... and Bryan gets the win.

Holla Holla Tag Team Match Playa

Harlem Heat vs The New Day

Teddy is a surprise and comes out to make one more tag team match... he and Woods have some banter on the outside before he manages to distract Big E enough to take the loss to Booker.

Dustin Rhodes vs Lord Steven Regal

Classic WCW match-up which Regal wins.

Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal Match - Sting vs Seth Rollins

Their rematch.... Sting clearly loved wrestling Seth and there'd be no question on a WCW show that Sting would win...

Battle Royale

The Taskmaster, Booty Man, Johnny B. Badd, Bobby Eaton, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham, Prince Iukea, Ron Simmons, Honky Tonk Man, David Flair, David Arquette, Buff Bagwell, Too Cold Scorpio, The Patriot (probably not Del Wilkes), Saturn, Masa Chono, Meng, Disco Inferno, Tex Slazenger, Shanghai Pierce.... Winner is Meng...

Rick Martel & Fit Finlay vs Sheamus & Alberto Del Rio

Classic old school team with an excuse to see Martel one more time... goes to a double countout with Finlay and Sheamus brawling.

Vader vs Kevin Owens

Most natural modern match-up, although I doubt Vader could go now... Owens gets the win.

Lance Storm vs Sami Zayn

Zayn picks up the win in a clinic...

Main Event

Hollywood Hogan & Chris Jericho vs Steve Austin, Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose

Hogan and Jericho would be an interesting dynamic as a heel team, while Austin has a reason to hate WCW... he and Ambrose would have some good chemistry and Reigns is there to do the Superman thing.... but yep, there's a 3rd man...

CM PUNK...

What better way to screw WWE over than have Punk show up for WCW?

1) Lance Storm vs. Alex Wright

2) Four Way Dance
Billy Kidman vs. Juventud Guerrera vs. Psychosis vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr.

3) Dusty Rhodes Tribute
Lord Steven Regal vs. Dustin Rhodes

Segment: Disco Inferno comes out and cuts a promo, talking about being left off the card and how he deserves to be on the card, only to be interrupted by 3 Count, who also air their grievances about being left off the card. Disco doesn't take kindly to being interrupted and cuts them off, asking them "who the hell do they think they are?". Eventually it leads to them arguing about whose music is better: Pop or Disco. They challenge each other to a Danceoff and after both Disco and 3 Count dance and ask the audience to vote on who was better, The Four Horsemen's music hits. Ric, Arn, Tully and Windham (no way Vince uses Ole) walk out and take out the 4 dancing fools before they call out Mean Gene Okerlund to the ring, so they can cut a promo for this Four Horsemen reunion.

4) Texas Tornado Street Fight
Harlem Heat vs. The Nasty Boys

5) Sid Vicious vs. Vader

6) Battle Royal
Meng, Fit Finlay, Ernest Miller, Glacier, Animal, Vampiro, Raven, Perry Saturn, Norman Smiley, Jim Duggan, Crowbar, Stevie Richards, Terry Funk, Buff Bagwell, Ron Simmons, Scorpio, The Harris Brothers, The Mamalukes, The Jung Dragons, and other WCW alumni.

7) Eddy Guerrero Tribute - Special Guest Referee: Dean Malenko
Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio Jr.

8) NWO (The Giant and Syxx) (w/ Scott Hall and Kevin Nash) vs. The Steiner Brothers

Segment: Eric Bischoff comes out and talks about the show and WCW being nothing without him. Mick Foley interrupts and gets into a worked-shoot with Bischoff, discussing their hatred for each other, Cactus' time in WCW, and the night Schiavone announced Foley's WWF Title win and how it backfired on WCW. Bischoff then calls out The Natural Born Killaz and they beat up Foley, only for Stone Cold Steve Austin's music to hit and both Foley & Austin take out the entire NBK, then apply Mr. Socko and hit a Stunner on Bischoff.

9) Diamond Dallas Page vs. Bill Goldberg

Segment: After the main event, the NWO run in and attack both DDP and Goldberg. Lex Luger runs in for the save but gets beat down too until the lights go out then come back on and Sting is standing in the middle of the ring with his Baseball Bat and along with DDP, Goldberg and Luger, clears the ring of the NWO. The Four Horsemen come out and join Sting, Goldberg, DDP & Luger in the ring and embrace with hugs, celebrating WCW, to close the show as the NWO watch from the outside, retreating to the back.

Who from WCW could still go? Most of the names are either too old, or dead. I don't think you could get a full show out of Big Show, DDP, Goldberg, Jericho, Shannon Moore (maybe?), Shane Helms (maybe?), Booker T, Jeff Jarrett, Dustin Rhodes...Do you stretch, and add Mark Calaway? Paul Heyman could talk his ass off, and I don't think he could sell that show.

The best bet for a WCW tribute show would be one match of something like DDP v Goldberg, and then the rest is matches that pay homage to the original product. Put together a badass War Games, let a solid set of cruiserweights open, add in a bullshit hardcore match, have the Outsiders show up for a promo...But you can't do it the way they did for ECW, using the original roster.

Some of these PPVs would be legitimately the worst show in history. There are a lot more of WCW's latter day stars that are in the cemetary than there are regularly wrestling. You could probably have like Mysterio against Jericho, maybe a Goldberg vs Big Show or something, maybe a battle royal for some of the other guys, but the WCW roster was old in the 90s, it's absolutely ancient now.

One Night Stand was 5 years after ECW went under, WCW folded 15 years ago and most of their main eventers were in their 40s back then.

I think a better option would be to have a Team WCW at Survivor Series vs some younger heels - something like Mysterio, Jericho, Goldberg, Sting and Booker T - so you could have Jericho and Mysterio do the lion's share of the work.
