Big Show vs Mark Henry: Best Big Man Feud?

Pay Per Ghost

What they f*ck happened in the thread section here
Now these two behemoths put on another great match Survivor Series. The highlight being that top rope elbow and that 'Randy Savage' chant, hmmm sweet!

But where does this rank with other big man feuds? One that comes in my mind is the first Kane vs Undertaker feud. Now that was a great feud but maybe the matches weren't all that captivating. The last feud they had was a little more entertaining ring work wise, but Show and Henry are tearing it up.

So discuss gentlemen.

I respect them both but lets not overlook the "BORRRRRING!!!" chants that broke out during the match.

As good as their story-fued is, I don't think that any match with Mark Henry is all that great. But I'm a fan of his ability to sell the attitude in his character without having to do much. Big Show I respect because he really had to work through a very long tenure of being hated and made fun of by AE fans before getting the crowd behind him years later.

But the matches between these two guys are not that entertaining. I respect them to death but just trying to be honest.

Not a chance. Big Show VS Mark Henry wouldn't even make the top 100 best big man feuds list, let alone be at the top because it has honestly been an incredibly boring feud and the only reason it has been tolerable has been for Big Show. The ring breaking was a nice spot and it recreated the Lesnar/Show incident rather well. That's been the only good thing that has come out of this feud though. Mark Henry is a joke and should not be World Champion. Big Show never wins world title feuds. A better candidate for best big man feud would be Kane VS Taker, a feud spanning several years that Henry/Show will never be able to touch in terms of entertainment value.

I dont think its been a very good feud to be honest. Both guys are so slow and pretty poor in the ring. They've had a few spots that were ok but I am not impressed by rigging the ring to collapse. The best big man feud that comes to mind is the initial Kane vs Undertaker feud. Both were solid in the ring along with Paul Bearer around to do some talking and a great story behind the feud.

I dont really count undertaker and kane as a big man feud since the undertaker is so athletic he really doesnt work like a henry or a big show. Nonetheless, this feud has been good. These two have worked with what they have and gave 2 pretty good matches at vengeance and survivor series. But lets be honest, they have not been that impressive.

Definitely not, outside of the ring breaking in their match and Big Show's promo when he returned from injury it hasn't been all that interesting. Big Show is the main reason that their feud has been bearable, he's making it exciting and interesting but he's been in better. Ive enjoyed many big man battles in the past like Big Show and Bobby Lashley in ECW, Kane vs Undertaker and many more. But the one that takes the cake is Undertaker vs Kane. This is one of the longer running and feuds that re emerged several times and has biggest in importance and magnitude, even including a title. Henry vs Show isn't a bad feud but it's nothing to get excited about next to great past feuds like these.

Mark henry is pathetic he jobbed for years and then all of a sudden i'm suppose to take him seriously as a world champion.. He got pinned by santino and hornswoggle he sunk that low in yhe pecking order.. Only justice this fued has is i love watching big show knock henry out

it's been a pretty decent feud and it looks like TLC will cap it off (finally) I'd love to see Big Show come out on top and get one final reign as champ

The last two PPV matches that they put on were in my eyes Thoroughly Entertaining!!

My only problem is that Big Show is just a bit dull during his ProMo's and spends too much time repeating himself and playing Face to the crowd.
I love Mark Henry and what he is doing....but Big Show is sucking the life out of the Feud...I think they threw Bryan in there earlier than intended because of this.

Its not even close to being the best big man feud. IMO the feud has been pretty boring. It started off good with Big Show's promo when he first returned, and they had a solid match at Vengeance. But its been pretty much downhill since Vengeance. Big Show doesn't really seem mad anymore, he is too busy playing to the crowd. Henry has not done anything to add more fuel to the fire. Henry promo where he was playing up his leg injury was horrible.

The last couple of weeks it seems Henry is in a feud with Daniel Bryan more than he is with Big Show.

Taker/Kane and Taker/Lesnar are examples of two great big man feuds. Big Show and Henry are not even coming close.

To be honest I have no interest in the Show-Henry matches, I think thats why Daniel Bryan has become so heavily involved.

I'm tuning in to see what Bryan does each week, especially in relation to his MITB.

I think that Henry, has been the best "big guy" champion since Brock Lesnar but.

If you want best big man fueds that's easy:

Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker
Brock Lesnar vs Big Show
Undertaker vs Kane

I'd also make note, that the most underrated big guy ever was Umaga. He should have been a world champion.

It's been a better feud than anyone expected it to be. The reason for that, in my opinion, is the manner in which both men have portrayed their characters. They have both behaved like vicious big men who can really hurt you a lot. A lot of the time Big Show has been portrayed as a goofy big man and Mark Henry, due to his position on the card, has just not been considered threatening enough. All that has changed with this feud.

I would also like to give them credit for the matches they have had with each other. They haven't been borng at all and have consisted of some great nearfalls. They have worked on the multiple finishers theory which has worked for them because people rarely kick out of their finishers. I like how Big Show has used the elbow drop as well. That is a move that Show hasn't used ever but him using that to take Henry down shows how much the championship means to him. Plus it's rather cool to see a giant like him fly through the air.

Best big man feud ever? No, that cannot be true. Taker/ Kane, Taker/ Lesnar, Big Show/ Lesnar, Hogan/ Andre, Diesel/ Taker have all been much better feuds. There have been more I guess. But I would say that this has been one of the best big man feuds in recent times. It seems a bit better though because it was completely unexpected.

People on here are ******s. The "boooring" chants are just because the NYC crowd is kinda douchy. Any other city and you don't get that. Not only that, but like the 2 pros they are, they picked up the pace and played to the crowd.

yes, this is one of the best big men feuds of all time. It's logical, both guys wrestle to their size. Then of course they also have the stunts. They do a great job at making things like a bodyslam seem like a big deal, then the huge things like the barricade spot, the superduperplex, the elbow, etc all seem like HUUUUGE happenings.

If you don't like this feud, that's fine, most of you like 100 spots a minute and no story. however, if you know anything at all about pro wrestling, you have to appreciate the storytelling and effort into these matches. A bump for a 400 pound guy hurts worse than a bump for a 200 pound guy, it's physics. These two have beating the shit out of each other for your enjoyment and have done a damn good job on the storytelling (in ring and out) side of things as well.

One of the best big man feuds I can remember. The promos have been outstanding. The matches aren't classics, but as far as big man vs. big man they don't get all that much better. This program works because you care about who wins and loses, rather than how awesome the match is. I want to see if Big Show beats Mark Henry, or if Henry keeps his monster reign going. Big Show is a well-established threat, going up against the unstoppable champ. It's a very well told story, based on a personal issue as well as a professional one. Well done, WWE.
