Edge and Triple H are probably the two most decorated world heavyweight champions ever since the title came to WWE. Both men have won the big gold belt five times, and have had some pretty memorable feuds while being champion along the way. Lets take a look at both men as world heavyweight champion.

Triple H- The Game was the first world heavyweight champion, when the title was brought into WWE. He was awarded the title by Bischoff, after Brock Lesnar(he was undisputed champion at the time) became exclusive to Samckdown. Triple H's best feud while WHC was probably with Shawn Michaels. These two put on some pretty damn good matches, and the way Triple H turned on Shawn was just classic. It made their feud that much better. During his Evolution days, Triple H was the monster heel again. Eventually, he would lose the title to Batista at Wrestlemania 21, and hasn't been WHC since.

Notable Wrestlers He Feuded With: HBK, Rob Van Damn, Kane, Goldberg, Scott Steiner, Booker T, Kevin Nash, Chris Benoit, Randy Orton

Edge- Back in 2004 and 2005, Edge would be was thrown into the WHC picture sometimes, but he never won the title. That didn't happen for the first time until 2007. Edge beat Mr Kennedy for his MITB briefcase(Kennedy was actually injured before this match happened) and cashed it in on an episode of Smackdown shortly there after. Edge won the title from Taker after a steel cage match with Batista, and after the Deadman was beat down by Mark Henry. He would then go on to feud with Kane and Batista before having to give up the belt due to a legitimate torn pectoral muscle. Later down the line, at this year's Extreme Rules PPv, Edge would lose the title to Jeff Hardy in a ladder match. This was last time he was WHC.....so far.

Notable Wrestlers He Feuded With: Batista, The Undertaker, Kane, Jeff Hardy,Big Show, John Cena, Rey Mysterio

Both men were different during their time as world heavyweight champion. Edge of course was the ultimate opportunist. Taking advantage of every opportunity, and stopping at nothing to be the best is a gimmick he plays to perfection. Triple H on the other hand, was the dominate heel champion. With the help of Evolution, and a sledgehammer every now and then, he would be the "man" who nobody could stop.

So who do you think was a better world heavyweight champion? Triple H or Edge? I know a lot of people might say WWE used Edge as a fall back guy as far as being world champion goes, but I enjoyed most of his title reigns. The ultimate oppoputrunst gimmick is something fresh, and gave us something new for a heel champion. I'm a huge Triple H mark, but some of his feuds as WHC just were not that good. His feud with Goldberg had an epic feel to it, but the matches between them really weren't that good. Then there's his feud with Steiner. The matches from Royal Rumble 2003 and No Way Out were horrible.

This is something else I'm really torn on, but I'm going to have to go with Triple H. Simply because his feud with HBK was epic. It was one of those feuds that made you remember he was WHC, and it help define one of his many reigns. Edge on the other hand, never really had that feud that had that "I'm the man" feel to it. His feud with Taker was trying to go there, but it never really got there if you ask me.

So who's your pick? Triple H or Edge? Thoughts

So who's your pick? Triple H or Edge? Thoughts

First of all, good thread.

Hmmm.... it's not as easy of a pick as one might think. Triple H was more dominant, but Edge had more entertaining reigns. I think I'm actually going to go with Edge because his reigns as World Champion in 2007-2008 helped Smackdown become the "A" show. Before Edge cashed in on Taker in 07, Smackdown was viewed by many as the "B" show and not near Raw in quality. Edge had such entertaining title reigns because he played his "ultimate opportunist" character to a tee by retaining by taking advantage of the right opportunities to sneak in a win. Every time he came out (especially when champion) he put on some really entertaining moments. Triple H may have been a lot more dominant with some epic feuds, but I think Edge was the better champion because he was more entertaining and his reigns helped make Smackdown a better show.

I've got to go with The Game. Triple H was dominant, and you can't forget his reign with Evolution. Triple H was a Raw guy for most of his title reigns as WHC if I remember right which might have something to do with Raw being viewed as the "A" show and Smack down the "B" show for so long. The way Triple H put over Batista as well was pretty memorable, I mean seriously 3 HIAC's that is insane, and they were good matches. The Booker T feud was good too, I'll never forget their match at WM19. His feud with HBK as mentioned was a classic. The feud with Kevin Nash was huge. So was his feud with Randy Orton, and with Jericho, and with Goldberg. Those were all huge, and Triple H was the man through it all. His dominance was entertaining. He put on some great matches as WHC, and was a better heel I think than Edge.

It's Triple H, and it's not even close. More dominant title reigns = more memorable title reigns. As good as Edge is, he's not a long term champion, but he is the best transitional champion. A guy they can throw the title on when they need to freshen up a bit. Triple H has always been more of a long term guy, he might not be a huge draw, but he's better than Edge is. Triple H has made every title he held with the exception of No Mercy 2007 mean something. Edge has just kept the belt warm for someone else.
