Throughout the history of professional sports, there have been many that have tried their hand at multiple sports. Which two do you think are the best, and why?
I believe that there's no doubt Bo Jackson is #1. He was at the top of the sports world, in both baseball and football. He excelled in both, and could have been a Hall Of Famer if he devoted all of his efforts into either one. He was marketable, and he played with heart and determination. He was a great athlete, and a better role model. Everyone knows Bo as "that guy that played two sports".
My second choice, and perhaps one that may be a little lesser known, is Deion Sanders. A lot of people forget that he was a marginally successful outfielder for the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, and others. His speed was obviously his strongest weapon, but he wasn't bad in the outfield either. The only downfall to his baseball abilities, was his lack of plate discipline. Once on the bases however, he was a threat. We all know about his accomplishments in the NFL though. He was quick, and could cover almost any receiver that lined up across from him. We may see his name in Canton before long.
