The person I think deserves a mention and I'm surprised he hasn't been mentioned already is.....Shawn Michaels (The Rock is my favorite wrestler of all time for note, in case any bias or anything appears to be in my post).
Firstly lets take his 'wrestling' ability. Shawn was and still is one of the greatest ever to graze this planet. Personally I could watch him wrestling all day long. From the first Raw to the current Raw he is still putting on consistently brilliant matches. To be honest, I can never remember a Shawn Michaels match where I have went.....that sucked. Because whether he was wrestling Bret Hart or Hulk Hogan. He brought such an outstanding element to the table that it had to be good. I'm going to quote Chris Jericho when he said "Hulk Hogans greatest ever match was against Shawn Michaels but that was because Shawn Michaels made him look good". I'm sure we all remember that Summerslam match. Michaels was outstanding. Why Hogan couldn't be man enough to pass on the torch as such is beyond me.
Also Mr Wrestlemania has to have a shout for greatest of all time surely. For me Wrestlemania 24 featured the 2 greatest of all time in the same match.
Shawn Michaels and woooooooo Ric Flair
On to microphone ability now and I think my favorite guy of all time The Rock wins it, with Chris Jericho second but that aside, my argument for Shawn Michaels. Shawn Michaels has had some unbelievable promos. You can tell how much he studied Ric Flair as a kid. Some of his stuff with Bret Hart, part of Degeneration X, Austin featuring Mic Tyson and of course who remembers his impression of Hulk on Larry King? Amazing, whether it be humorous or serious, hes outstanding at it.
As an all round money making machine. I think its safe to say that Shawn Michaels has made that company tens of millions of dollars if not more in his tenure with the WWE. Shawn Michaels was selling out WWE arenas when WCW where kicking Raws ass in the ratings. Triple H was quoted as saying "Thanks to Shawn we where winning the war on the street". When WCW could barely get 5000 for a TV Taping. WWE was getting tens of thousands. This was ofcourse when he was WWF Champion and back in the 90's people gave a rats ass who the champion was. They where always the main event.
Lastly, Shawn Michaels loyalty! Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Randy Savage, Lex Luger amongst others all chased money......Shawn Michaels loved(S) wrestling. He could have jumped ship but his heart was in the business and not in his bank balance. You look at the likes of Hogan who USE this business as away of filling their pockets, there not in it for the fans otherwise we would have seen more dream matches of there years. Hogan versus Austin comes to mind. Hogan was quoted as saying no, then someone asked him, if Vince offered you $10million dollars, he said its definently worth thinking about....how much do Hulkamaniacs really mean to him......not as much as $10million anyways. I know this sounds like a dig at Hogan and honestly it isn't. Hogan put the business on the map but Christopher Columbus put America on the map when he discovered it. Doesn't mean he is regarded as the best navigator of all time(sorry I know its a bad example but I hope you see my point).
I know guys like Austin, The Rock amongst others are rightfully up there but I think those guys conquered a generation. An unbelievable era in wrestling history, however, I feel for money made, in ring ability, charisma, mic ability, loyalty and all round watchability that Shawn Michaels should be regarded as a possible candidate as the greatest of all time!
In my view....MICHAELS is > than
