Best Kicker/Punter Duo In NFL History

NSL

Life's A Bitch, And Then You Mosh
Why? Because there's nothing else going on around here. And, I feel like shamelessly plugging my team again.

Last season, the New York Giants had both their kicker, and punter, go to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl. So, I think that Jeff Feagles and John Carney would be the greatest K/P duo in NFL history. Carney is the oldest player in the NFL, and Feagles is either the 2nd or 3rd oldest, and they still put up the best numbers for their positions, and played the best.

Jason Elam and Tom Rouen in the 90's was outstanding. Rouen was a first team all-pro at one point, and Elam was considered the best kicker in the game. They won two Super Bowls together.

No offense, but I'm not even sure if the Giants' combo is even the best in the division (Dallas, with McBriar and Folk). Carney wasn't very clutch at all either. I think they put together an impressive string of events of their age, but I wouldn't go further than that.

What about the Oakland Raiders' current special teams setup? I think the Raiders are often forgotten about, yet in this particular discussion I personally think they're worth mentioning (although I'm not a fan of them). They have have Sebastian Janikowski as their kicker, a guy who lead the league in touchbacks overall. That's quite impressive. And then they the always-reliable Shane Lechler as their punter, arguably the best punter in the game today (and one of the best of all-time). Hell, this guy punted the ball 85 yards one time back when he was in high school. Damn.

I would give the nod to this O.R. pair.

Lechler will go down as one of the all-time greats if he stays in Oakland, and punts 10 times a game.

Janikowski however, misses just as many big kicks as he hits. He's not clutch, and can be a headcase on the sideline. While I'd take him over just about anyone if I needed a 60 yarder to win the Super Bowl, I don't want him for a 35 yarder to beat a rival.

I don't wanna come off as bragging. Ah what the hell am I saying. The best kicker/punter duo goes to my team the Dallas Cowboys. Why? Simple. Folk is one of the best kickers in the league & whenever he gets a chance at performing a clutch kick to either win the game or tie the game, he always delivers. Now McBriar if healthy can kick the ball pretty damn far & always gives our opponent to start way back into their own terriotry. He's also been to the Pro Bowl in the past & when he comes back for the season opener. I think he will be a force to be reckon with.

The Cowboys change kickers every year. He'll be gone soon, it's a curse.

The best combo in the league is Rob Bironas and Craig Hentrich. Hentrich averages 43 a punt and Bironas has the biggest leg in the league. He hit a 60 yarder to beat Indianapolis in a game Tennessee needed to make the play offs in 2007.
