Best and Worst Three Royal Rumbles Since 2000

Best

2004: From top to bottom, I thought it was the best. Ernest Miller dancing was good for a few laughs and Foley coming out was epic. Benoit was the main focus going into the Rumble but throughout the match, you kind of forgot about him. Big Show, Jericho, and Angle were all viable contenders and it ended with a great elimination.

2000: It was obvious that it was going to come down to Rock and Big Show but they made it interesting unlike in 1999. Kaientai constantly trying to get in the Rumble never fails to amuse me.

2003: I was going back and forth between this one and 2007 but I went with this one. Chris Jericho eliminating HBK and Michaels coming back to set up their WM match. Lesnar dominating and Cena rapping for his whole 90 seconds was hilarious.

Worst

2002: They just should have said that HHH was going to win the Rumble. The last 20 minutes or so was just HHH, Perfect, Angle, and Austin. I thought RVD, Booker, Kane, and Show should have stayed longer because they were possible contenders at the time. Even though I enjoyed Maven eliminating Undertaker, everything else seemed flat.

2009: Orton, Orton, Orton. Need I say more. I honestly can't remember a memorable moment about this Rumble.

2008: Even with Cena returning, I just didn't see anything that impressed me or wowed me. The only two people besides Cena I remember were Mr. Kennedy and Santino. That should tell you a lot.

2004, 2010, 2011. 2004 is by far my favourite and the last two have been some of the best ever.

2002, 2006, 2009. All bad matches. 02 and 09 were obvious in terms of winners and 2006 sucked in general.

I think the middle part of the decade gave us the best rumbles. I’ll agree with 2004 as the best. I also liked 2005. I thought the roster was pretty strong at this time. We saw the emergence of Batista and Cena as the new top stars while still having other big names like Michaels, Angle, Benoit, Guerrero, and Jericho among others. We also saw the feud between HBK and Angle kick off and I remember being really pumped for mania as soon as I saw that. I’ll give 2003 my vote for third.

I hate to say it and hate to disagree with my man Funkay, but I think the last three rumbles were probably the worst. I honestly don’t remember much about 2009 so that’s not a good sign. I think 2010 was probably the worst. I thought some big names got eliminated too early which killed some of the drama. I also hated it that there were only three guys left by the time the last guy came out. There had never been that few remaining before and I think that hurt the match a lot. 2011 was just too long. The increase to 40 was not necessary. WWE could have easily cut out ten guys that didn’t need to be there. This would have been much better with the usual 30.
