Bellator Season 6

Nome is where your heart is
Bellator Fighting Championships returns this Friday, on my birthday no less, with a big card featuring not only the Featherweight Championship being defended, but also the quarterfinals of the Featherweight tournament. The undercard will also feature some semi-big names, such as Travis Wiuff, Sean McCorkle and Shamar Bailey. Here's the card.

Bellator LX
Main Card
  • Featherweight Championship Bout: Joe Warren vs. Pat Curran
  • Featherweight Quarterfinal Bout: Marlon Sandro vs. Roberto Vargas
  • Featherweight Quarterfinal Bout: Ronnie Mann vs. Mike Corey
  • Featherweight Quarterfinal Bout: Alexandre Bezerra vs. Genair da Silva
  • Featherweight Quarterfinal Bout: Daniel Straus vs. Jeremy Spoon
Local Feature Fights
  • Bantamweight Bout: Cory Galloway vs. Jake Nauracy
  • Catchweight Bout (215): Travis Wiuff vs. Anthony Gomez
  • Featherweight Bout: Lance Surma vs. Eric Oria
  • Catchweight Bout (280): Sean McCorkle vs. Richard White
  • Catchweight Bout (165): Shamar Bailey vs. Jash Shockley
  • Featherweight Bout: Kenny Foster vs. Bobby Reardanz
The main card alone should be worth watching since it features several very talented fighters in an exciting division. Joe Warren is coming off of a loss, and now looks to defend his championship against the heavy handed Pat Curran. In addition, Marlon Sandro, who is considered one of the very best Featherweights, will be back in action and looks to avenge his disaster of a 2011 run at the tournament crown. Should be a great way to start of season 6 of Bellator.

Bellator LXI
Main Card
  • Middleweight Tournament Bout: Maiquel Falcao vs. Norman Paraisy
  • Middleweight Tournament Bout: Vitor Vianna vs. Brian Rogers
  • Middleweight Tournament Bout: Vyacheslav Vasilevsky vs. Victor O'Donnell
  • Middleweight Tournament Bout: Giva Santana vs. Bruno Santos
Preliminary Card (Spike.com)
  • Catchweight (165) Bout: Brent Taylor vs. Josh Quayhagen
  • Middleweight Bout: Trey Houston vs. Jeremiah Riggs
  • Welterweight Bout: Derrick Krantz vs. Eric Scallan
  • Catchweight (140) Bout: Jeremy Myers vs. Jason Sampson
The Middleweight tournament kicks off tonight and it is stacked with Brazilian fighters. Four of the eight competitors are from Brazil which should be an interesting story to follow. The biggest name in the draw is Maiquel Falcao, the one time UFC veteran who beat Gerald Harris in a snoozefest. Falcao is a heavy handed vet of the sport who could easily run away with this thing and give Hector Lombard a hell of a test. But then again who knows what these no names will bring to the tourny. Brian Rogers, Vasilevsky, and Giva Santana are all very promising fighters, especially the latter two. Should be a fun ride.
