For years wrestling fans have argued whether the ultimate face of the WWF was Hogan or Austin. Comic book fans can have that same argument, who is the ultimate face of the franchise.

Marvel's Spider-Man?

Or DC's Batman?

But who gives a shit about who is more significant to their company, let's talk about who would kick whose ass!

As these are easily two of the biggest superheroes in all of comicdom and have had multiple movies, TV shows, and video games based on them, it's safe to say that you're all familiar with these two legends, but let's do a brief recap.

Spider-Man

Peter Parker became Spider-Man after receiving odd powers from being bitten by a radioactive spider. He gained super strength, stamina, the ability to leap to extraordinary heights, grip to walls and ceilings, and the ability to sense danger or distress. To supplement these powers, Parker used his superior scientific mind to build a device that allowed him to shoot spiderwebs.

According to Marvel's website, Spider-Man can lift up to 10 tons and is approximately 15 times more agile than the normal human.

Batman

After watching his parents be brutally murdered, Bruce Wayne dedicated his life to avenging his parents. He trained daily, learned martial arts from around the world, and studied at high academia when he was as young as 14 years old.

Batman is at peak physical condition for a human. He can bench press up to 1000 pounds, catch arrows fired at him, and has been compared to Olympic competitors in terms of endurance and agility.

Batman also has a wide array of weapons and gadgets. His costume also double as protective armor that can stop bullets. He also has the ever familiar Batmarang, and of course, the Batmobile.

This is a no holds barred contest. Anything goes, and the fight goes on until the opponent is incapacitated or knocked out.

I'll start us off here before this entire thing gets swarmed by "Batman because he's Batman" responses. It's tough because while Bruce doesn't have any superpowers, he does have all the resources in the world to get it done. Hell, he's been getting it done against supervillains since before Peter's parents got blown up by the Red Skull. So Batman would have his gadgets and no doubt would think of some sort of formula to counter Spidey's Spider-Sense (Bat Anti Spider-Sense Spray?), but that's all been done before (See: Norman Osborn). Batman has a lot of tricks up his sleeve but does he have any that are new or original to Peter Parker? Peter of course has his superpowers and webshooters. The Spider-Sense would come in handy to start with, but you've got to believe that Bruce has a way to neutralise it as said before, so that means it's basic instinct for Peter which is something he's used before. Batman's a tough son of a bitch but so is Aunt May's little man and I've got a feeling that Peter Parker would take this one after a very violent battle.

Ignoring the obvious of who the real face of DC is, Batman would still take this. Why's that? Because he's the goddamn batman! Neh I jest on that one, but he will do. He's got the height and weight advantage, plus he's rather skilled in martial arts. Spidy has the speed advantage and spidy sense but Batmans a cunning summbish. Plus Batman beat Captain America whilst Spidy struggled against Superboy (yeah he won but shhh).

batman's endurance is better than Spidy's and that I believe is what will seperate the two of them.

Spider-Man all the way!

I love both guys but I have to be honest here.

If we're talking about just dropping them in a fight as is then Spidey. He's too quick and too strong for Batman.

If there's planning involved then Batman can beat anyone. He's got a gadget for everything.

Batman's beaten tougher guys, kinda ridiculous at times, but Spidey wins this for me.

Spiderman

Spiderman is clearly going to win this battle. Considering that Spiderman has all his powers and has also a good brain on him. The winner is when someone is incapacitated or knocked out, and well truth be told a few webs around the mighty Batman and this thing is over. Spiderman in the comics has faced several tough foes some who were stronger then Batman, on the flip side Batman has faced tough foes however I think none compare to Spiderman. The only way I see the Batman having a chance is if he fcreates a knock out gas otherwise this thing is over.

I would say that Spiderman is more of a face for his brand than Batman is because he does not share the spotlight with anyone. When I think Marvel I immediately think pf Spiderman, however Superman comes to mind first with DC rather than Batman. The two more or less share the spotlight as the brand's top heroes. Spiderman is easily the top Marvel hero.

Going by who the top face is, it's Spiderman hands down. Marvel built Spiderman as their top seller, and has done so for a long time. But as for DC, well the caped crusader will always play second fiddle to the Man Of Steel.

But in a fight? Batman. I'm figuring when you say this fight is no holds barred and anything goes, you mean this fight can carry on even when the duo aren't exchanging blows. Enter Batman's resourcefulness. Bruce Wayne has more money than God, and because of that I think he could afford better suited equipment to contest Spidey, maybe even hire professional snoops (or even satellite track) to trace Spiderman's whereabouts. This gives you the advantage in any fight, because it also gives you the element of surprise when you drop down on your opponent.

Peter Parker has acrobatics, senses, and web shooters. Bruce Wayne has money. Money will always be the advantage, because with it Batman becomes indestructible.
