Batista: Color Analyst in Training?

I'll be damned if I haven't been blown away by what Batista's performances at the booth over the last couple weeks. Dude seems to have a knack for being a cool operator at the table. Did you see his chemistry with Matt Striker this week when Striker was prattling on about Dave being a changed man? He just stared Striker down. I haven't seen a game of cat and mouse that good between commentators since JBL was talking down Michael Cole on a weekly basis. But Batista outshone JBL this week because he conveyed just as much (and maybe more) far more efficiently than the ranting and raving of JBL could.

In my opinion, Batista should become a permanent fixture in the booth when he's ready to hang his boots up. WWE needs more heel commentators who can get their point across in unique, insightful, and efficient ways, and who the audience is invested in. I think Batista is a perfect candidate for such a job. Lord knows he's better at the desk than both Cole and Lawler are these days.

Which current WWE wrestlers do you think could have a future as a color commentator?

I have a hard time believing Batista's career will last much longer, because he is injured a lot, and his body is much to big to be performing at the rate he does for so long. So maybe if he does pull a Randy Savage and sits down for the action for a while, resting his body, then it might be a good idea. Except there is a difference. Savage was a great character, Batista isn't on the mic. Out of current superstars that could be good in the booth, that are not comedic characters, well I see Triple H. He can talk, he knows what to say, and he is a big part of the company. I just feel people will attack his position in the booth, blaming it on his sexual domination of the boss's daughter.

I have yet to see this weeks Smackdown but i would have to pick Hurricane Helms for the position.Back when he was doing the interviews on ECW before he redebuted and started wrestling again i loved it.He just has that feel about him that he can get so into it.I would love to see Helms on the ECW announce table with Matt Striker they would make a fantastic combo.

Since Batista usually doesn't utter a word whenever he is invited down for commentary, I'd probably prefer him be the Analyst as opposed to Jerry Lawler, these days.

But as we know "Batista is a Man of few words". I love how they always say that. Great excuse for Batista to say nothing.
