Bates Motel

For some reason A&E.com refuses to let watch the last ten minutes but from what I've seen the pilot is worth giving the rest of the season a try.

So we are half way through the series and for me, Bates Motel continues to impress. I'm loving the show and I can't wait to see where things are heading tonight.

Everyone else still on board?

Ive come to appreciate it, yes. I think the "sheriff's department is holing up sex slaves" is an unneccessary development, because do they really need to make everyone on the show a bad person? There's enough crazy in Vera Farmiga(Norma) to last the entire show.

But Max Theriot(Dylan) has really been a saving grace for me. He's been that 'middle ground' pulling at Norman, seeming reasonable about Norma, but still not enough to break Norman's allegiance to his mother. If he lasts the season, I'll be shocked, but he was a welcome addition the second he strutted in and said "Hi Norma."

He's got an arrogance that makes him unlikeable, but he seems to generally care about Norman. But I think his disdain for Norma will be his ultimate downfall by season's end. And I can't say enough about Vera Farmiga as Norma. She's brilliant in the role, and it's such a huge departure from anything she's ever done before.

It's not a great show, but it's a guilty pleasure, clustermuck.

My question is, which main character dies next? Deputy Shelby? Dylan? Bradley, as I'm wondering if Norman's 'sexual encounter' with her was real, or a dream, and she rebuffs him, which perhaps starts his murderous ways?

My money is on Dylan.

I do still like the show. It's just going so slow for me at this point. But at the same time I can't wait to watch the recording during the week.

I like Dylan as well. He really seemed like an asshole at first, but lately he seems pretty cool and the only family member who cares for Norman in a nondisturbing way. If he does die this season, I'm sure it might have to do with him trying to move Norman to his apartment. I guess we'll see. I really hope he doesn't though, as he's one of the few normal people around that damn town.

And yes, Vera Farmiga has done a great job so far. They've done a great job at making you resent her for what she does to Norman.

Still loving the show.

Dylan has turned into the most likable character and even though he does some bad things its nice to see him trying his best to do right by his brother.

Both Norman and Norma have done fantastic in their roles and every time I see them together its quite unnerving which is the point. I hope Dylan doesn't die soon but yeah he's fucked.
