Bands/Artists who you like literally all albums by?

Getting Noticed By Management
I just sort of thought of this whole sort of concept......

The idea came up because recently I've been getting into Testament and they have apparently a total of 9 albums. But I only seem to really like about 4 of them. So then I had sort of for a second thought to myself "Its not like you have to like all of a bands albums to consider yourself a fan" , which is true I think

The below spoiler you can click if you wish to read me rambling about instances in which I love various bands but not everything they've done

I mean for instance I've been a big fan of Metallica for several years , I consider them the best band in the world but even so I don't own or like and don't plan to ever own Load/Reload/St.Anger

Or theres like AFI , who I got into like 10 years ago , but I don't really care for anything they made before "The art of drowning" album

Then theres a couple of instances like with Trivium , or Avenged Sevenfold who I'm a big fan of but even then... I absolutley don't like those bands debut CDs

Few more instances like Arch Enemy and In Flames where I love their more recent music , but I just am not feeling it at all with their oldest music

Then theres like , Machine Head who in their current state I love but somewhere in the middle of their overall career they turned into a mediocre nu-metal band so I don't listen to any of that era of their music

Then theres Linkin park who started strong as hell but by the time they got to a 3rd record they lost their minds and became vastly less-good

I could list examples all day probably , but I should probably stop now

Most of the instances I can think of where I do approve of 100% of a bands CDs seem to be bands that are new and therefore only have like 1 to 3 CDs and have not had the time to screw up yet.

It seems like its just the way it is that if a band is around long enough that they are ALL bound to screw up sometime and make an album , or album(s) that many fans may not like

However there is 1 band I thought of , Children of Bodom is now up to a total of 7 albums and I don't object to any of them.

TLDR?/Main Point : So in the world of music , even the bands you are a huge fan of do you actually love all of their albums? Also does anyone really think one must blindly approve of 100% of a bands music to be considered a real fan?

The Beatles. My favourite band ever. They never made a bad album. Even the worse one (which for me is the White Album) is still a better album than many bands could ever hope to make. The White Album is full of pretension and the flow of it sometimes feels a bit off. But there's enough quality on there for me to consider it a great album. The Beatles' albums are so fantastic that I genuinely can't pick a favourite. They all offer something different.

Arctic Monkeys are another band who haven't made a bad album. Well almost. I say almost because I despise their first one, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. It's very boring, one-dimensional guitar music for the most part. The only redeeming feature of it is Alex Turner's inspired lyrics. However, the next two albums (it will be three if the preview song of their impending album is anything to go by) are incredible. They contain beautiful arrangements and the lyrics are improving album by album. The third, Humbug, is one of my favourite albums ever. My hatred for WPSIATWIN is encouraged by the fact that stupid people like it.

Band that I love ever album from? That honor would have to go to my all time favorite band Our Lady Peace. I tend to come down on artists that don't make a change in sound, the ones that typically release an album that sounds a lot like their previous albums and stick to that formula. If that's the type of music they want to play then that's cool but I like bands who try and make an effort to change their sound and evolve, even if it's only a time time experiment. This day and age, there are far too many bands who sound all alike and far to often I feel like I'm just listening to the same band over and over.

Enter Our Lady Peace, what I love about them is that every album has a unique theme and ranges in different sounds. Every album brings something to the table, its as if the band try's to reinvent themselves with every release. Musically, everybody plays their part equally and it is noticeable. Lyrically, Maida covers a bridge of topics and can go very in depth and will often provoke some deep thought out of the listener. With every album they release, I never know what to expect. Even if it turns out to be the complete opposite of what I really was expecting, it manages to exceed any expectation I did have. The reason why I love this band is because they are all about the passion and the soul they breathe life into their music and it becomes apparent throughout all their albums and is one of the many reasons why I will follow them until the day they stop making music.

there is a couple bands that i have every album that they have leleased.

Hank Williams III - he has released 2 completely different styles of country music, but i have them all. He started with traditional country sound, much like his grand father, and has evolved into a cult following of fans, which is much more like a metal band following. (listen to "Long Hauls and Close Calls - Hellbilly Version if you have never heard him)

Hinder - they have three studio albums out now, and i have bought them all three as soon as they came out, with their latest album being far and away their best album yet.

3 Doors Down - got addicted to them as soon as i heard Kryptonite on the radio and bought all the cd's when they came out... even though Away from the Sun is absolutely Horrible and Seventeen Days isn't much better, but their first and fourth cd out thus far are great in my opinion... and i will be buying their 5th when it comes out soon.

Oasis are my favourite band, which is well known on the forums. I like every album they have done, and will quite happily play any of them from start to finish without skipping a track.

Obviously, I have my favourites, with their first 4 releases (Definitely Maybe, (What's The Story?) Morning Glory, Be Here Now, The Masterplan) being my favourites. Their later releases do not quite hit the heights of their earlier stuff, but they are all still solid albums. I also love both their live albums, and the greatest hits and singles collections are obviously brilliant too.

I think its very rare to find a band that you like literally 98% of song by. I have found that with Oasis, and for that reason I believe that they will probably always be my favourite band.

I have all the albums for many other bands including Godsmack, Guns N Roses, Alice In Chains, Audioslave, The Verve and loads of others, but there is always 1 album that I am always a bit iffy over. With Oasis that has not happened. They are all brilliant.

Two bands have been able to gain this respect out of me:

Tool:
Undertow
Aenima
Lateralus
10,000 Days

Even the EP's Opiate and Salival were amazing. This band, to me, are incapable of creating bad music. They speak through words, and instruments, things that make you think, shape images, and everything a band SHOULD do

And secondly

Marilyn Manson:
Portrait of the american family
Smells like Children
Antichrist Superstar
Mechanical Animals
Holywood
Golden Age of Grotesque
Eat me, Drink me,
High end of low

I take Manson, the band, and the man himself, to be far more than a ''Shock'' image, and not a trendy Fad, the band with every release reinvent themselves and their sound. A trait that is very hard for a band to do with as many releases as they have.

The White Stripes take this honor for me. Started with their self-titled debut and never looked back. Icky Thump was kinda weak as I look back but still not a bad album at all. It just appears weak because everything else they did was out of this world.

Actually looking into my collection I would also have to go with Cream. They were only around for 4 years and made 4 albums. All of them great. They started with the heavy rock helping pioneer "metal" and by the end they had evolved into a band still making great songs (I'm So Glad, Badge) but also anchoring the album with very whimsical songs (Anyone for Tennis, Doing that Scrapyard Thing).

There are only two bands that I enjoy every single release within their entire discography. Those bands are Linkin Park and Def Leppard. There is not a single cd by either band that I dislike. I personally don't think you have to like everything that a band releases to be a "real" fan of them because there's always going to be a song you don't like. If you liked everything no matter what they did, then you run the risk of taking your fandom too seriously. It's ok to not like a song or two, they are still a band you enjoy following and listening to music of.

ohh this is hard because it seems like every artist makes an album that people hate. but if i would have to pick some they would be

Mushroomhead
Korn
Disturbed
Five Finger Death Punch
Behemoth

I cant think of anymore but i believe there are a couple

I have a few bands that hold this honor. lol

The Beatles. Im not mr beatlemania or anything, but i do love them. they are not like my all time favorite band, but everyone of their albums is golden, and i can never get sick listening to them.

Nirvana- not fair sense there is only three, but they are all great imo

mumford and sons- only has one album, and i like it. lol

Slipknot- I love everyone of their albums, and listen to them on an almost daily basis. joey jordison is the best drummer out there today imo. (maybe second to neil peart of rush)

lamb of god- i am a huge fan of these guys, and i think that their albums are only getting better

id add more band, but if you include their early stuff, even if it was under a different name, they wouldnt make the cut.

Rx Bandits. Those guys can do no wrong, sadly this summer is their last tour. Bastards.

Here's a sampler of their delightful sounds, from the album "Mandala" [AKA: Isn't Steve Choi Amazing!?]

That was from their most recent album, the Bandits have never rested on their laurels, however, as every album they've made has been an evolution of their music, for comparison, here's a track from their third album, back when they were just starting to move away from there Ska roots...

As you can see they've come along way. I might also add that they are by far the best live act I have ever seen, they're tight as fuck and they like to link tracks with really interesting jams. If you've never really heard anything by these guys then check 'em out RIGHT NOW.

Marilyn Manson. Every album he has put out tells a different story. Antichrist Superstar is one of the most complex concept albums known to man. Every album he has put out has an anthem, and with those anthems he pretty much revived heavy metal in the 90's, and gave it a new shock too it.

3 studio albums, but Unplugged in New York and Muddy Banks of the Wishkha ought be included, and sadly Muddy Banks is just awful. I believe Courtney Love didn't want it released which is something I agree with! Love me some Nirvana though :D

For me, Explosions in the Sky and City & Colour have this honour.

EitS have matured and crafted their sound so much from their first album which gave a great indication of what they were capable of, with each subsequent album getting better and better.

Actually after consulting my collection, I'm gonna throw in Alexisonfire and Rage Against The Machine too.

Other than like her compilation albums, I've collected all of Britney Spears albums... What? She's like really good at being the best. That's why she's stayed relevant for years. I seriously couldn't picture my itunes or ipod without britney on there... From debut to her latest album, there's always something about her that I love.

---

And I don't have all her albums, but damn well close enough... I've been a very firm fan of Mariah Carey. In my opinion, she's the seriously the queen of R&B. Beyonce is terrible IMO, and always comes with the same shit... Mariah changes it up and her videos for her singles go together like crazy.

Sure, Mariah's recent stuff, IMO isn't as good as her older albums but it's still really great.

Off the top of my head; J. Cole.

He hasn't released an album yet but it's gonna be selling like hot cakes when it does.

I have all 3 of his mixtapes and not only do I like every mixtape, I like every song!

I'm not the kind of guy to go out and buy albums. I'll listen to all the songs online then download the ones I like. Usually if I get a mixtape I do the same thing. I'll usually end up deleting half the songs coz I don't like them. But J. Cole is a different story.

Any time a member of the Wu-tang clan releases something i go to the store and get it. The clan has been my favorite group for years and it's only right to show them love. Also anything that Damian Marley puts out is a must buy for me, he is so honest in his music it's insane.

I'm definitely going with my favorite artist of all time, Mike Tramp (lead vocalist of former 80's hair band, White Lion).

While I loved the White Lion material back in the day (I purchased/downloaded every one of their albums) as well as the Freak of Nature material, I believe he has been at his very best solo. Mike has not released an album that I don't love, with my favorite album of his being "Recovering The Wasted Years."

For anyone that hasn't listened to Mike Tramp or any of his bands, definitely do so. You just might like him!

Definately Alter Bridge. One of the most realistic bands in the world. Not cocky, over-Confident or triea to start fashion statements. I Had the pleasure of meeting them in 2008 and they were awesome. We had a half an hour discussion about the fact that Alien vs Predator Requiem was awful, Myles Kennedy (Lead Singer) Offered me pizza and it was just plain awesome. Im seeing them again for the 4th time in Birmingham, England. I seriously cannot wait =)

311 and Incubus. I love every album by these two bands and they are all on heavy rotation.

Incubus for me are an unusual band in every album they release is better then the previous one.

Linkin Park - It's not only his albums his every freaking jiggle they have.
They are the only band that everybody can love, Metal fans loves them, Pop fans loves them

I think that Linkin Park is losing steam recently, but fuck, they are pure genius.

Have you heard their latest stuff? Haha don't want to be a dick but in my opinion it's all fucking balls.

For me:

Nirvana - I own everything and I'll listen to any of it at any time.

Frank Turner - I don't know if he's made any impact in the States and he hasn't even made that much in the UK but I love every album without a shadow of a doubt.

I can't think of anything else at the moment, it's a good question actually. There's loads of bands I love like Metallica, Slayer, Motley Crue, Guns and Roses but some of their albums are just shit. There's loads of bands who only have one or two albums but I don't see the point in including them.

I'd have to go with Def Leppard also. I collected all of their album except the most recent one because of money issues. I listened to their older stuff and actually found it really good. My other band would have to be Breaking Benjamins. I've listened to all their albums and every song on said albums and I haven't even found a song I don't like. Even their slow songs, like "Rain", are really good. I'd almost say Gorillaz but I haven't heard all their albums I don't think. It's weird with them. I listed them as an artist I like on my Pandora so they've been playing them alot and some songs I start not liking but see that it's them and for some reason the song all of sudden doesn't become that bad. Weird huh? This is probably one of my favorite Breaking Benjamins song followed by Evil Angel.

Lamb of God-Including their burn the periset stuff which is heavy and straight up brutal. Every album is damn near awesome and they are amazing live.

Slipknot-Including Mate Feed Kill Repeat, on of my top favorite bands and even if All Hope Is Gone let me down it is still amazing music wise.

All That Remain-Again, I love their older heavier music and I even like their change of pace with their latest album.

Trivium Embers to Inferno took a while to grow on me since the quality sucks but every song is really good and every album from their just got better and better even the Crusade is badass thrash metal!!! In Waves is a great step from Shogun, man I just love every Album.

Tool-They never dissapoint and they are fucking phenomanal and are extremly talented, and Im still waiting for their new album to come out!!!

I'd say breaking Benjamin because there is at least one awesome song in each album they have. Plus The covers look awesome and unique at the same time. I first discovered them a year ago and already have listened to many of their songs. Awesome!

The first band to come to mind would be Rush. Spanning over 35 years and approximately 25 albums (counting greatest hits compilations), there's not a weak album amongst them. Saw them live once and it was an absolutely incredible experience. Moving Pictures is clearly their best album, with Hold Your Fire, Moving Pictures, Signals, and of course their original untitled album being fantastic as well.

Can't argue with Def Leppard either, and I would throw AC/DC out there for consideration as well.
