Agreed to an extent. Just as Orton did with trips tonight. But then again. Edge IS The Ultimate Oppertunist.

I dunno if that counts as a "clean" win. After all, Shane got taken out by a chair shot, and then Batista and Trips had a little miscommunication, leading to Batista getting taken out by the ring post, Trips being distracted, and Orton taking advantage. It's certainly a controversial win for Orton.

I wonder who Edge is going to drop the belt to next month. Jeff Hardy is the only Face maineventer on Smackdown I can think of right now, besides Undertaker (but he's too busy having random matches with Shelton).

I expect Punk to come out this week and cut a promo on how he respects Cena, and all that shit and how he didn't respect the way Edge won the title, and blah blah blah, then he tell us that at JD, in his home town, he's cashing in his MITB title shot and taking the title from Edge

....and it'll end in a DQ, and go on for a few months.

Oh it was definitely better than Mania, because the final match was great. Only truly bad part was Santino. Other than that, I was pleased.

Is Judgment Day really in Chicago this year? Cuz if so, then Punk is DEFINITELY winning the title.

OR WWE can let Edge beat Punk clean. That way the internet nerds are forced to shut up about both WWE being too predictable AND for never letting heels win clean. Yaaaaay.

I actually sort of enjoyed the Santino segment. We all KNEW it wasn't gonna be Emmy-winning comedy, we KNEW it was gonna be goofy and screwy. I just sat back and allowed myself to laugh.

And it was STILL better than the Miss Wrestlemania Battle Royal.

Actually this...

will most likely be what happens, this way Punk wins the match in front of his hometown fans, but Edge keeps the title, and they are able to carry the feud on as Wes said, wouldn't be surprised to see these two end the feud with a TLC match, likely at NOX

Edge has always been a mediocore wrestler, overrated for his gimmick and mic skills (which he got part way through 2005). He needs others to get him over and his booking is so stale I'm surprised nobody notices it.

Fuck this Edge guy. Big Show should be the motherfucking world champion right now.

I thought so but didn't know if it counted as Jericho and Rey were involved in Cena's elimination. Still an impressive looking loss for Cena.

Edge still sucks though. :)

As no one has seemed to mention, the main issue I had with the finish was Cena stands up before ten from a damn conchairto on the fucking stage after a war when he couldn't do that after no match and on the mat Monday? No.

Depends. If it was Edge's usual weak, overrated midcarder offense, I say Cena should have gotten up at one.

Oh for fuck sake dude, Edge is not overrated, if you think Edge is stale than you may be the blindest wrestling fan ever, Edge is easily one on the most talented guys in the company today, got off it already

Not a chance. A lot of net fans love their heels, but the man has been riding this opprotunisty thing in stale fashion for over three years. And don't say it's just a heel thing. Jericho, Big Show... heck, even Orton... Many others are booked better than Edge.

How is he not overrated? He's been given great match time in the last year in main events on PPVs, yet he rarely knows how to fill the time for the first two thirds of his matches. His offense is a few weak looking midcardish neckbreakers and a poorly executed running hug. Unless he has a better wrestler or a gimmick hiding his flaws, he's average or below in every way.

Not to mention that he's a creation of circumstance. He didn't get main event level heat until the thing with Lita. He wouldn't be here today if he didn't steal Matt's girl and Matt didn't get fired over it.

The great Bret Hart is a four time champion. Cena is a five time champion. Michaels is a four time champion. Taker is a six time champion. What Edge gets nine reigns for, I know not. And yet people are still blind for the most part when it comes to Edge.

Seriously, fuck this guy. Good thing he was working with a superior pro wrestler in a gimmick match, otherwise tonight might have exposed him again.

The first half of the show was terrible, the crowd was smarky and didn't get into anything but the second half of this was excellent. Nice to see HHH eat a finisher and get pinned, that will go a long way in silencing (deserved) criticism from the past.

I hated how they worked the Hardyz match with the mic, horrible. Match was decent enough.

Edge vs Cena was excellent as well.

I was really surprised with the 6man not sucking ring-wise. It was pretty solid throughout.

so im watching the replay and such....and y'know, for all the dicking around with the table they did, no one ever actually got smashed through it

Wow, I was there, was the crowd really that dead on tv? Didn't sound that bad there, the show did start late because of Audio problems. The place did go apeshit when Christian won the title, whether it looked that way or not. We were really into that match.
