- Word going around TNA is that one-half of the TNA Knockout Tag Team Champions Awesome Kong gave notice to the company on Tuesday night. Kong was involved in the reported altercation with Bubba the Love Sponge earlier this week.

It should be noted that talents give notice to TNA often and most of the time they're talked into staying. No word yet on what the future will hold for Awesome Kong in TNA.

I sure hope not, because this woman is an absolutely phenomenal talent. I just can not believe that TNA would let Kong go over an incident like this.

And shame on her, though, for being a baby over this incident. She actually put her hands on and attacked someone backstage. And she doesn't expect there to be consequences?

I like Kong and all, and nor do I want to see her leave, but there needs to be some sort of sit down talk with her and she needs to understand she just can't go around attacking people backstage, and not expect there to be some consequences, like being sent home over it.

Do you want Kong to leave or do you think TNA should try to talk her out of it, and why? What do you think of her handing in her notice?

She is one of the best knockouts they have and she’s currently one of my favorite women’s wrestler. Overall, she’s a phenomenal wrestlers like you mentioned Sid so I really don’t want to see her go. Lord knows WWE’s wouldn’t hire her so I probably wouldn’t see her wrestler much which would be a shame.

Also, I do agree with you on everything else you said. Although I feel that Bubba got what he deserved, it does not mean that it was right for Kong to just go and attack someone. She’s not above the law and there are consequences for everything she does whether they are good or bad, so hopefully she has learned her lesson and decides to stay.

We don't know the whole story at all, and the quitting may have nothing to do with it. I'm mad I can't find it, but I read somewhere that Kong either has family in Haiti or has been very helpful in trying to get donations and what not. Perhaps the altercation had to do with Bubba's comments on Haiti? Anyway, my point is we don't know the whole story so we shouldn't be calling her a baby for not dealing with consequences, because as far as I've read there weren't any anyway for attacking him (other than being sent home, which isn't really anything).

TNA should definitely convince her to stay, and if they have to choose between Kong or Bubba the Love Sponge, I would pick Kong. It's like the Angle/Jarrett situation, Angle was going to walk after Jarrett stuck it to his wife, but TNA compromised and recognized Angle as more valuable, and Jarrett was taken off TV for a while. Bubba just started, but perhaps something similar could be in order to keep Kong around.

Personally, I don't care much for Kong. She was a walking gimmick to me, like Yokozuna or any other "big man" in wrestling history. Eventually, their size becomes boring because you know who they can (and will) squash in a match, and the same David v. Goliath approach is taken to beat them. It's repetitive and quite boring, IMO.

Kong has run her course in TNA as it is anyway, and her leaving opens up a big spot for someone like ODB to become the dominant heel female wrestler in the company, or for lesser heels to step up. Alyssa Flash, anyone?

I don't want Kong to leave because she is one of if not the best Knockout TNA has right now and I love watching her perform. Nonetheless, she was completely in the wrong for what she did and I don't care if she was offended by what Bubba said. She attacked him and acted unprofessional in a professional event. I can tell she feels strongly about the situation in Haiti and I wonder if she regrets doing what she did. I believe Hogan wants to be far away connected to this as possible so I can see them trying to talk Kong into staying.

Agree with the both of ya. Do not want her to leave, but she needs to know that there are gonna be consequences for what she did. Not that I dont want to find a video of it and watch it over and over and over but still, she should not have done that. Hoping that Alissa and other friends of hers can talk her into staying.

For those asking she did attack him over his comments about the Haiti situation where he said "Fuck Haiti when our own country is in shambles."

I'm with you, man. Attacking someone when you're not physically provoked is uncalled for, especially in a working environment. If, in fact, this whole incident was unscripted, Kong should face some sort of repercussions.
Notwithstanding, she is the best female talent in wrestling today. If she were to leave TNA, I can't see WWE picking her up. They prefer their female wrestlers to look like anorexic babydolls.
Kong reminds me a lot like Vader, only she's a chick. It would be a complete travesty if they'd let her go all because of Bubba the Love Sponge -- a Hogan lackey.
It would be even more appalling to know that TNA keeps someone like Lacey Von Erich around if they let Kong walk.

Iy would like to hear more about htis incident in General

you have a top female wrestler in the promotion, and current titleholder "attack" bubba the love sponge over some contreversial comments. He is hogans "buddy" brought in by hogan and has got himself into quite a bit of trouble in his first few weeks there, opening his mouth making many public comments and bringing some bad publicity to TNA.

Then it comes out it was a possible owrk and Russo wanted Kong to attack bubba so he can start some fued, and NOW you have Kong supposedly handing in her letter of resignation over the whole matter?

Whoever is TRULY in charge in TNA needs to seriously get a handle on what the hell is going on, you can't have all this crap happening at the top of the orginzation, it make you look very unprofesinal and kind of feeds right into the "cheaply run knockoff" stereotype that TNA is trying to Shed so it can really compete with the WWE.

TNA would be a fool to let Kong go. Shes the best woman going today. Your not gonna find another women that size that can move like that.

I'd really hate to see Kong go. She is one of my current favorites. She is a phenominal female athlete, and she really broke the mold in the mainstream of what a women's wrestler is.

I agree that she's in the wrong for her actions, and there are consequences for that, but I hope TNA talks her into staying. I can't see the WWE taking an interest in her, so she'd be stuck on the indies or in Mexico or Japan. Hopefully she learns her lesson and hopefully this isn't the end of Awesome Kong in TNA.

Kong is by far my favorite woman's wrestler so I do not want to see her leave, she is just too good of a talent to let go and unfortunately I don't see her ever going to WWE (although I think she would do very well there if given the chance) so TNA is the best spot for her at the moment.

I definitely agree that even though I don't want to see her go, TNA was in the right to send her home after she attacked Bubba because no matter how you look at it, she attacked an employee for personal reasons and that is just plain unprofessional. I'm not going to get into who was in the right or wrong over the situation, all I will say that every person has their own opinion and just because she didn't like Bubbas comments does not give her justification to attacking the guy. Frankly, as much as I like Kong, she acted like a little child over the situation, giving her notice because of this is just ridiculous. You don't have to agree with the comments, but you have to get over them and stay professional, if she told Bubba how she felt about the comments (by talking) it would of been different, but you just can't physically attack someone you work with because of it, most companies would of fired her on the spot for that.

First off, Bubba brings absolutely NOTHING to the table as an announcer. His backstage segments were awful, he exposes the business on his radio show and twitter, and he makes short-sighted, disrespectful comments about Haiti. Before he joined TNA, his stupidity was his own problem. Now, TNA has to take the heat on the things he says. Not only should he have been fired already, he never should have been with the company in the first place but, he's Hogan's buddy so...

Now, onto Kong. While I understand her anger, it's not okay to punch a co-worker in the face several times. Not in any office in America and not backstage at a wrestling show. I don't disagree that Kong should have him him at all...I just think she should have found him somewhere off company property. Maybe somewhere where there would be no one around to pull her off of his fat ass.

That being said, it'd be a real shame to lose Kong and I fear she won't be the last to go. She's a great worker with a unique, intimidating look and, most importantly, she can WORK. About six months ago, Kurt Angle was going around saying he'd like to work a program with her. How often do you hear about a top male start clamoring to work with a Knockout?

I don't personally care for Kong, but I will say that I can understand why she might have assaulted Bubba. the comments he made were callous and almost seemed to be designed to anger people. There are rumors that all of this is a work and it may very well be. And to be honest if Kong leaves , Bubba should be fired.

I would love for her to leave. I was never a fan of hers. She's the female version of Viscera. I believe if she stays she will attack another person for saying something she doesn't agree with.

This saddens me. Kong is a bigger draw than Bubba, so I'm pretty sure TNA will do what it takes to keep her on board. The one upside is that she won't end up in WWE, and will continue to tear up the indy scene.

I'm concerned more for what this could do to the KO Tag Titles. This would be twice now that the belts need to be rush booked. Hamada could easily find a new partner (Roxxi or Alissa), and use little story. They'd be a good team, but it doesn't have the marquee effect of AWESOME KONG.

Fuck you, Bubba.

yea, this sucks for TNA and for the fans as well. Kong was a big part in a really good Knockout's Division. When I first saw her I admittedly didn't think she would be good and quickly jumped to one side, but since than she completely changed my opinion about her in the ring. As for why she wants to leave, we might not know. I don't think that whole Bubba incident is enough to make one person leave. I don't want to sound Sexist but you tend to hear about women leaving career's early in hopes of family, but I'm just not sure if this is the case here.

Kong is at her "PapaBears" wake right now. So I don't blame her for being agitated at everyone and everything. She's taking video on her Iphone while around town today (Twitter her and follow her links.)

We will see what the news is once she leaves Chicago and makes more public statements.

It would be a shame to see her go. She's a REAL wrestler, and not one of the plastic people all the men drool over. She is one of the few who have used wrestling to pay the bills and not go crazy with greed.

The thing is, the "bubba incident" is NOT the first time Kong has beaten someone up backstage. She has a bad temper, and she was lucky when she got away it the first time she beat someone up. I believe it was Rhaka Khan she got in a fight with.

She cost herself her job, and the blame is squarely on her shoulders. Bubba may be an obnoxious jerk, but that's irrelevant. I think she's so stupid to let her temper get away with her and throw away everything she had going for her. It's just ridiculous. She thought she could bully anyone who disagreed with her, and it cost her everything. I expect this type stuff from children, but not from adults.

WWE would be smart to sign Kong if in fact she leaves TNA. Kong is one of the best female wrestlers out of there. Vince could stick it to TNA to sign Kong and push her to the moon. But she doesn't have the looks so it is doubtful the E brings her in.

Kong is probably the best knockout out there and she is one of my personal favorites. So it'll be a real shame to see her leave TNA. Hopefully TNA can convince Kong to stay around.

I'm in agreement with most people here on the board. I feel that Bubba the Douchebag was clearly in the wrong for saying "Fuck Haiti" but you just can't attack an employee at work. If any of us did that at work, there would at least be some disciplinary actions and even more so if the employee that was attacked pressed charges. I think all of this could have been avoided if Bubba would have said something to the effect of "Let's worry about our own economic problems first before we seek to aid others" if that's truly his opinion. It would have been a lot better than his heinous statement of "Fuck Haiti." But, then again, that might have been too many big words for that Hogan stooge to comprehend.

I would love for her to leave. I was never a fan of hers. She's the female version of Viscera. I believe if she stays she will attack another person for saying something she doesn't agree with.

I don’t think that would be the case. Obviously, helping Haiti is something she’s been involved in strongly so she was probably offended (and so were other people) when Bubba said the comments he made. It’s completely understandable why she did what she did, but it doesn’t make it right. She needs to keep her anger in check because she can get in much bigger trouble than getting sent home.

Also, I’ve read that there’s a ton of backstage heat on Bubba and that Awesome Kong is one of the nicest people to be around with backstage. I’ve also read that there’s little to no heat on her for what she did. So I don’t think her attacking someone else will happen. That’s not me saying that it’s impossible for it to happen again to the same person or someone else, I just doubt it since no one really has anything bad to say about her or everything she does.

The thing is, the "bubba incident" is NOT the first time Kong has beaten someone up backstage. She has a bad temper, and she was lucky when she got away it the first time she beat someone up. I believe it was Rhaka Khan she got in a fight with.

I don't ever remember hearing about Kong getting into any other altercations backstage, I could be wrong though. And the person Rhaka Khan got in a fight against was Roxxi, not Awesome Kong.

Kong is easily one of the best female talents that TNA has, I'm sure that Kong had her reason's for the altercation, though I do think that the incident was uncalled for. It was an unprofessional move on Kong's part.

I would think that TNA would be quick to issue her a warning and try and pursway her to stay, despite Hogan's advice to fire her.

One would think that Kong would be too valuable a commodity of the Knockout's divsion to lose to the competiton. The WWE would be quick to utilize Kong's talents if they ever had the chance. She'd be perfect for their PG programming.

Is it possible to be speechless over TNA? I guess it is because that is what I am right now.

The question that comes to my mind is why the fuck she wouldn't think that this would have resulted in her having some action taken against her. It must have run through her head when she thought about attacking Bubba. Maybe it did and she had made her mind up about handing in her notice long before she did it. Either way, this sounds like a childish prank to me. Does she expect to be let go over this? The guy was way out of line with what he said and she was correct in smashing him a few times. Hell, if it were me, I would have done the exact same.

I wouldn't like to see her go but if she does, I would love to see her go to WWE. She could have a feud with Beth Pheonix that would really kick the Divas off and take them to a new level. It all just seems a bit bitchy and stupid to me. However, it is nothing less than I expected from TNA.

Awesome Kong is one of the few wrestlers in the Knockout Division that actually keeps me somewhat interested in women's wrestling in TNA. Kong doesn't have the look of a Playboy centerfold wanna be or pole dancer and I always thought that was very refreshing. She's barely uttered a word on the mic during her time in TNA and she's one of the most over pieces of talent they've got.

On the surface, it's not a good thing for her to have attacked Bubba backstage, even though most of TNA talent backstage support such an action. But, I don't know what the full story is. We all know Bubba has made some really callous remarks regarding the earthquake in Haiti but maybe he took things further during his confrontation with Kong. I dunno if he did or not. If he did, however, then who knows. Maybe he did deserve it, depending upon exactly what the full story is.

It's all well and good to be professional and walk away to avoid things getting physical. In a perfect setting, that's what would happen but we don't always get a perfectly ideal setting. Emotions can run high sometimes and everyone does have their breaking point no matter what. I can't say she's right or she's wrong until the whole story comes out.

I don't ever remember hearing about Kong getting into any other altercations backstage, I could be wrong though. And the person Rhaka Khan got in a fight against was Roxxi, not Awesome Kong.

Yeah sorry I had the Awesome kong beating up some guy who insulted her boyfriend mixed up with the roxxi-rhaka khan altercation. That's what I was thinking of when I was remembering that she had been in a fight before. It's actually similar circumstances, some guy gets a big mouth, and she can't hold her temper.
