Amid the messy production equipments in the backstage, with his head dropped down and mouth uttering something not so audible and with the agile legs totter in an intricate way, walks the newest rookie in the WZCW Vee A.D.Z.
He gets abruptly interrupted by Leon Kensworth to just get some quick words before heading into the colossal grand stage for his first ever bout. Vee feels like hovering over the floor when he gets stopped albeit not showing much of the expression in his face.
Kensworth : You seem to be nervous? Asks with a stiff voice and sharp stare into the eyes of the rookie anticipating a reply
Vee : Well, I dont want to be a liar before going in for my first bout here; if it were any other situation I wouldve retorted right away. But yes, Im a bit nervous, albeit not intimated. You see, Im nervous for one reason, just one reason. I dont want to disappoint myself tonight when I walk into this ring.
Kensworth : But you should be; Talking about your opponent Pri.. Gets interrupted in a supercilious tone by the rookie
Vee : I ought to say this once again for you mate; I dont care who my opponent is going to be and Im not intimidated in any sense. Let me tell you something mate, I just care about my performances in the ring. I need to give my very best out there. I know his name and I had seen him in the locker room amongst the other fellas but Ill take anyone and everyone in the same sense, as a toughest competitor Im going to face. With the words coming out, Vee doesnt look ragged anymore. Hes just confident with every word he speaks. He checks his gloves and look up at Kensworth again like if he got more questions to answer before getting in.
Kensworth : But youre a rookie; I gotta tell about Prince, uhm your opponent for tonight. He pauses for a few seconds wondering if hell get any defiant from Vee. Then he continues. At Ascension 93 he lost to the debuting Cassanova, so he wouldnt want to face yet another loss to a debutant.
Vee : Makes a witty grin making levity of the situation. You see mate, I dont want to look down on him. I never look down on anyone; when I say never, I absolutely do mean never! Im just going in and youll see the best out of me. Walks across the Kensworth making him wonder if the interview is over. But Vee walks backwards a few step and looks right in the eyes of Kensworth with a poise tone utters: Youll see at least a cent of progress in me every time I wrestle. Cheers mate!
Vee lifts his fist to get a fist pump from Kensworth, for which he replies back with a inept fist touch nevertheless makes a bizarre elated smile as he watches Vee walks down the path.
The Rookie is now all set for action and hes just waiting behind the curtains for his music to hit and does some quick jabs onto the wall and makes a wide smile on his face.
