In this match, the winner is the special guest referee for the upcoming Blade vs Mr. Baller match at All or Nothing.

RP Deadline is September 8, 11:59 EST.

As the promo begins a long dark corridor can be seen. Lighting is very scarce and does nothing to illuminate the shadowed figure who sits at the end of the solemn corridor. A large man, his silhouette is lurched over and perched with his back against the wall. As the camera moves up the corridor, the lights begin to flicker and then go back to the stable status. It soon becomes clear that it is Karnage that has his back to the dingy, grime covered wall with his hand raised to his head. A strange looking, red journal is beside him, lying open at a page.

Karnage: Do you feel it? Do you feel it changing you like it changes me? Something… Something is coming over me. One thing my mother always told me was that you can run from what you are, Hell you can even hide from it but, you will never escape it.

Karnage raises his head from his hands and stares into the camera. He turns away from the camera and picks up the red book that lies beside him.

Karnage: There are many things that I can’t say to people without behind looked down on or attacked because of it. People don’t want to know me, they look at me and think that I am not worth their time, they jusge instead of listening. In here though, I can say what I want without persecution. Let me read you an extract from my journal shall I?

Meltdown 27 – Matt Royale.

I was upbeat about this match when I was first told. I always remember my first matches in WZCW and think about how hard it was to come in against someone who never gave a crap about me and my development. Then, I heard about my match with Royale, a kid who was coming from the cold and trying to make a name for himself. I remembered how, not so long ago, I was in the same position as he was. Sure, he is cocky and he is brash but so was I. When I heard about the match, I was excited. Here was a kid that I could help develop into the future of WZCW. He showed no fear and talked about me but I never cared, all I knew was that I was going to go into the ring and have a Hell of a match against a brash new superstar.

To be fair, he bossed the match and he was always in control. I remember lying on the mat after being knocked down, I was looking at the rafters and thinking ‘how did I get into this situation’. The referee was asking me if I wanted to go on and it was all I could do to say no. I got to my feet and at that moment, something came over me. I looked at Royale and his facial expression changed to a look of fear and intimidation. I remember thinking how good it felt to be feared again in people’s eyes, it was like a wave of emotion came over me and for some reason, I just couldn’t stop myself. For a while, I was fighting what I was. I tried to make people cheer for me and I thought that I could be different from the rest of the criminal scum that comes out of each and every prison across the world… But I’m not.

Karnage lifts his head from looking at the book and stares into the camera once more, his eyes are blood shot and red. His glare is burning and full of emotion. After a moment, Karnage withdraws his gaze and once more, looks towards the journal that is perched upon his lap.

Karnage: I remember lifting him onto my shoulder and the fans were cheering. The adulation of the people that I wanted to entertain was amazing. Then, something happened, I looked at him and a force overcame me. I just wanted to hurt him. I wanted to inflict as much pain as was humanly possible on another human being. I hit him and I hit him and I couldn’t stop. It was all I had in me to cover him and give him a reprieve. Otherwise, I don’t know what would have happened to him. I got out of the arena as fast as I could.

I didn’t know what to do so I ran.

Karnage looks up once more and closes the journal. He inhales deeply through his nose and sighs loudly. Lifting the book from his knees, Karnage places it back onto the spot that he lifted it from prior to the reading.

Karnage: And I came here. The first time I was ever seen on WZCW, it was right here. Something in my head kept telling me to come here. When I arrived, there was a peace that washed over me that I had not felt in a long time. I stayed here myself for a while, worried that if I went into the public, I would not be able to control what would happen. I know that I must stay here now. I have to go back to what I was because if I don’t, people will get hurt. Matt Royale knows this and Celeste Crimson will soon know it too.

One person that always helped me and showed me that there was more than mindless violence in me was Blade. Blade was always a guy that always pushed me into doing the right thing and showed me a friendship that I had never felt before. At Ascension, I will once again step into the ring against one of the most imposing and professional superstars in WZCW: Celeste. For longer than I can remember, Celeste has always been dominating her opponents and showing that she can deal with anything. However, I have a warning for Celeste.

Celeste, at Ascension, I do not know who I will be. Will I be the same person that you see in front of you just now? A man who knows what he is capable of and keeps his ugly side under wraps through a façade of respect and niceties? Or, will I be the man who destroyed Matt Royale, one of the most impressive rookies on the roster, in less than 20 seconds? I don’t know. Be warned though, I am not going to be responsible for what happens in that ring. This match is for Blade, who has always been beside me and now I have the chance to repay him ten-fold by making sure that Mr. Baller doesn’t get one over him and I will show him that his friendship has been the prevailing light in this time of uncertainty for me.

At Ascension, I will be fighting for something more than just hurting someone. I will be fighting for friendship, for trust and for some stability in my life. Celeste, I wish you luck but please, know what you are getting into. I implore you to listen and not judge. Do not write me off because it will be at your peril, I assure you.

Karnage stands up and picks up the journal that is lying on the floor. After picking it up, Karnage looks at the camera once more and begins to walk down the corridor with nothing more said. Only the clipping of his shoes on the cold stone floor can be heard as the screen fades to black.

‘It served her right, Stacy got exactly what was coming to her’ Becky Serra thought to herself as she waited with her crew by the entrance of the garage.

The week before Stacy Madison had experienced her first interview with Celeste Crimson… it wasn’t pleasant. Watching Stacy lose control of the interview Becky couldn’t help but pity the girl even though she had purposely offered her no sound advice on how to deal with the immanent situation. She remained adamant, even when an enraged Stacy had told her afterwards what she thought about her to her face.

Recent events had almost made her regret taking this interview. ‘I hope I’ve earned enough brownie points to avoid a tongue lashing of my own’ Becky thought bowing her head. She pondered some of the questions she had prepared for the interview in her head, the temptation of skipping a few of them quickly arose.

Becky shuddered as she shook herself free of her anxiety. She knew Celeste well enough to figure out how she operated. She had figured out long ago that the company, which included interviews and matches, seemed to gravitate around Celeste… Celeste merely just fit these occurrences into her schedule. Even though she would never admit it, especially not to her colleagues, interviews were supplied primarily by Celeste’s energy… not theirs. Celeste expected to be asked a few questions, rant for a few minutes, then leave on her own timetable… anything else would make her seem inferior… and the last thing you want to do as an interviewer is make Celeste Crimson seem inferior… as Stacy Madison had learned not to do last week.

Like clockwork Becky could hear the whine of a sport motorcycle pulling into the garage… Celeste had arrived. Becky prepared herself to do what she did best around Celeste… fade into the background and make herself seem as small and as insignificant as possible.

Becky watched as Celeste approached her and her team. The curvaceous tattooed blond held herself in the same proud, arrogant fashion that she always did. Her high and mighty attitude coming as no shock to Becky… but something was different… yes, Becky could sense a hint of excitement that she rarely saw in Celeste. She could see it in her eyes, normally void of all emotion were her brown and icy blue orbs, but not today.

“Good, at least this week I can look forward to being interviewed by someone with some competence” Celeste said quietly, but just loud enough for Becky to hear. Becky couldn’t help herself and was soon grinning from ear to ear.

Becky gave the signal to the cameraman to start rolling as she dove straight into the interview.

“Becky Serra here with Celeste Crimson, Celeste I understand that you’re a busy person so I’ll try to get through these points quickly”

Celeste couldn’t help but crack a half smile, Becky knew her well… perhaps a little too well for her standards. Becky held the microphone in front of her as she asked her first question.

“Last week on the second edition of Ascension, Vance Bateman gave both Blade and Mr. Baller the opportunity to pick representatives to face each other in a match this week, the winning representative will go on to referee their match at All or Nothing. What are your thoughts on the predicament?”

“Personally I find the whole idea to be atrocious, I could care less about the feud between Blade and Mr. Baller.”

“So does that mean you’re going to forfeit?” Becky asked. She immediately turned and bowed her head as Celeste flashed her a glare that burned right through her. Celeste couldn’t help but smirk.

“Now why would I forfeit when Baller has managed to convince me otherwise? Honestly I hate the guy, enough to throw this match without a second thought. Baller knows this, he’s not stupid… he may be incompetent as a performer but he’s far from stupid. No one with an ounce of intelligence would dare to put someone that despises them in the position that Baller has placed me in, at least not without some heavy persuasion first. “

“What type of persuasion?” Becky asks. Celeste frowns, crossing her arms.

“Money talks Becky, always has and always will. Seriously, for all the intelligence that you seemingly have you can be quite dim.”

Celeste’s answer confuses Becky, she ponders challenging Celeste’s logic but her words get caught in her throat at the last second. Celeste looks at her with impatient eyes, daring her to challenge her.

“Well? Out with it Becky… you were saying?”

“I- I’ve heard you say before that money didn’t matter to you. I don’t understand why you would take a bribe.”

“I did say that money was temperamental, but only when I’m fueled by my own desires. If I have no real reason or desire to become involved in a feud then I require payment for my services, Baller approached me with an offer and I accepted. This money was merely payment for my services and doesn’t necessarily mean that I’ve promised him a win. Baller knew the risks by offering me money in exchange my allegiances, whether I win or lose for him is irrelevant… I’ve already been paid.”

Celeste smiled, it was like she enjoyed being selfish.

“So that’s it, the reason you’re so happy, you’ve gotten Baller to pay you off.”

“And why wouldn’t I be happy? The way I see it Baller needs me, even though he knows full well that I hate him… He had to buy my allegiance for this one match. If I do become the special guest referee then I plan to call the match down the middle, as I don’t care about Blade either… that’s granted that I don’t fall asleep from boredom watching two subpar performers trying to resolve their pathetic struggle.”

“But weren’t you pinned by Blade?” said Becky as Celeste choked.

“Because of Baller” Celeste corrected “The only reason Blade pinned me was because of Baller, that’s the only way he could have ever beaten me. I’ve already taken care of Baller for that mishap and as long as Blade keeps his mouth shut about the incident I may just forget that he ever beat me.”

“What are your thoughts on Criminal Karnage? He’ll be in Blade’s corner at the PPV regardless and he’ll be your opponent this week.”

“While it’s noble for him to fight on his friends behalf, he chose to fight in this quarrel… I didn’t. I could have very easily have just thrown the match but now I’m obligated to fight. And I think the match will be interesting…”

“How so?”

Celeste stops and whispers something quietly for Becky’s ears only.

“What!” Becky shouts in surprise as Celeste nodded.

Celeste like any other woman has a special time of the month designated just for her. Her special time just happens to fall in sync with the third episode of Ascension. During this time hormones make Celeste naturally more spontaneous and aggressive… and often times overly passionate. Great for Celeste, though horrible news for her opponents.

“If Karnage wants to fight, I’ll be more than happy to indulge him with violence… who knows I may even enjoy myself.”
