Are we giving the marriage too much credit?

Triple H would of been a Main Event star in the WWE regardless if he was or wasn't with Stephanie. However with him being with Stephanie does give him a edge to stay in the Main Event spotlight. Not in the sense that Vince loves him and all that crap that people say but that fact is if he is with Stephanie and he is a "McMahon" he is loyal to the company. Vince does not have to fear that HHH would jump ship to TNA or anywhere else. Vince doesn't have to worry about Triple H retiring while he was at the top of his game. Vince knows that when he married Stephanie he married the WWE.

I think his marriage has something to do with his career. Yes we can all say that he won belt(s) before he dated. That does not mean anything. He talks behind the stage about wrestlers and even Lillian Garcia (if that is true) because he knows he is protected. Yes he is a good wrestler but if you can't say that the marriage did not affect his marriage. What about Jericho? Didn't he disrespect him when he first returned to the WWE? How about during when Goldberg was in the WWE? HHH has almost the same storyline someone comes out and HHH would have a feud, that guy usually won then go for the belt then hey guess what HHH still retains the belt. And while you can say that Cena does the same he has not held the belt that long did he?

Ever since the infamous "Curtain Call" I threw "marrying for power" out of my mind. He took his punishment like a man without jumping ship to WCW or just flat out quitting.

This even earned the respect of The Undertaker at the time (see WWE Unscripted the Book). And there is no other person in the lockerroom who has earned more respect than the Deadman, there was even a poll in a magazine last year or so about it.

I think people who dont like HHH always go straight to that argument. IMO HHH would still have been on the top without Stephanie, he was on a roll way before that. The only thing that would be different is his roll would be slightly different, he may not have been featured as much or maybe he would have, who knows? Cena certainly gets to have his way and stays on top and hes not in the family.

Can we really fault the guy for falling in love? Or if it wasnt love, can we fault the guy for being clever and manuevering himself into power? HHH is the man and IMO especially since hes married to Stephanie.
