Are there any future dream matches to look forward to??

Occasional Pre-Show
In WWE practically almost every main eventer has had a fued with every other at some point, which leads me to believe that its gonna be difficult to get excited about a first time match for a long while. Obviously eventually new stars will be made and we will have our rock/austin-esque matches main eventing wrestlemania's but at present hasnt it all been seen before? Especially on raw, the guys there have crossed paths way too many times, which makes night of champions from a raw main event standpoint completely undesirable, just because its a previous wrestlemania main event and has probably the 3 biggest stars in the business gutting it out for the title doesn't make it something I for one want to see again. Dont get me wrong im still watching both raw and smackdown when i can but it could just be habit and hope at the moment getting me through.

Smackdown is in a better position as many ppl point out it is the better show for wrestling and with fueds like punk/hardy and potential fueds like jericho/taker, we'll get some great matches, but not what you'd call dream matches surely. The last hyped 'dream' match i remember was probably cena/batista, i personally wasnt much bothered but it had a new feeling to it despite the fact that batista and cena were already wearing thin on some of us, they hadnt gone toe-to-toe to determine who the absolute best is. So, in my opinion, unless there are heel/face turns (i.e edge), i cant see there being any dream matches fans can get really excited about for a few years to come, only re-done slightly modified feuds between the same top guys.

You could argue that dream mid-card matches could be counted but what im asking is, are there any dream main event matches you'd like to see headlining wrestlemania's and summerslam's in the next 2 to 3 yrs that hasnt been done??

The only suggestion i can think at present is face edge/heel orton could potentially be incredible as long as they build edge to be a super face and is way way over as one.

I think I'm the only one in the world who anticipates this but I realy would like to see a main event between Carlito and Jerico. I have always been a huge fan of Carlito and loved his "I'm all that is cool" gimic. I feel the two could have a really entertaining match.

Dream Matches: I think a face Edge Vs HHH as a heel would be a great match at wm27 and i know everyone always wants a heel john cena but it wont happen till he quites making the wwe millions but i think a heel batista is iminate we really need someone new to hate also i think a hbk vs john morrison is really the only match i cant wait for to happen especially when hbk is on top of his game and i would not mind seeing shelton vs jack swagger just an old school wrestling match

Well Cena/Orton hasn't been done as much as Triple H/Orton or Triple H/Cena, so that's still an option IMO. I'm still looking foward to Night Of Champions because of Triple H vs. Orton vs. Cena and the Intercontinental Championship match because it looks like Ziggler is gonna be the one to face Rey and it is good exposure for a future main-eventer. I think that sometime soon, we need to have a Cena vs. Taker feud for the title. I don't care when, it just needs to happen. If it's at WrestleMania, have it end in a draw, so Cena won't look like just another victim and Taker can still say he has never lost at Mania.

Triple H/Batista for the title would be very interesting. Although it has been done before, that was almost five years ago. If they could get Ric Flair back, then he would be involved in this feud too. It would be interesting to see who he sides with.

Edge/Orton also sounds like a Mania main event. Triple H/Undertaker is another dream feud and match. Too bad it'll probably never happen because I've heard rumors that Hunter and Taker don't get along too well. Triple H/Shawn Michaels is also a dream feud/match because of how they have been DX-ing on and off for the past 3 years. And before the Supersmarks come after me, I know that this has been done before, but that was 4/5 years ago and the characters have changed. Hopefully, we will see HHH take on the Heartbreak Kid at WM26 as Shawn's retirement match.

Miz and Morrison could also be a future Wrestlemania main event. In fact, it should. By Wrestlemania 27, I'm sure that they will have won at least one world title each, so who knows, maybe they can be the Triple H and Shawn Michaels of the next generation. But who knows, one time there was a post on the main site that predicted Mr. Kennedy was going to win the WWE Title at Wrestlemania 25, but look what happened there...

I don't know about "dream matches" but there are some pretty good feuds left that really haven't totally been explored. As far as a "dream match" goes, there's only one left that I can think of realistically happening at all. And even it's a long long longshot. Everybody knows what it is but I hit it at the end of my post.

Edge/Jericho- obviously where their tag title reigns were heading with the eventual Edge face turn. After watching Raw and seeing Jericho act pissy at Edge for getting hurt, it played out exactly how I said it would in a previous thread the moment they won the titles. Edge would somehow cost them the titles, Jericho gets pissed, Edge turns face. They might have mixed it up before a little bit awhile ago, but nothing super memorable. Edge/Jericho now would be pretty big.

Jericho/Taker- another match that we might have seen before once or twice but nothing really super memorable. Jericho will likely be Taker's last WM victim. There will be a great build up for this. It will be better than HBK/Taker. I stand by that.

CM Punk/anybody- Punk is really really becoming great and really coming into his own lately. This heel turn did great...no...AMAZING things for him already. I've always liked Punk, although I'll admit I'm not a huge a fan of his as some are, but he's always been a guy I've liked and been entertained by each time he steps through the ropes. His heel gimmick is somewhat like his ROH one where he's straight-edge and he's better than you because of that. There are a lot of great great matches to expect from Punk. Punk/Taker. Punk/Edge. Punk/Jericho would be amazing. Punk/HBK would also be great. And eventually build up in a year or less and we'll probably get to see Punk/Cena, Punk/HHH, and hopefully a deeper feud of Punk/Orton.

......aaaaand the obvious

Cena/Rock- I'd bet my ballbag this never happened. If it did, I'd be short a set of testicles but that would mean we would get to see the biggest match people have just been oozing hope for over the last 2 years or so since Cena started running his mouth (and in a totally legit manner) for the Rock to come face him at Mania. This is undoubtedly the biggest and probably only "Dream Match" left right now until other stars are built.

I agree with the Edge Face/ Orton Heel in a year or two! It has potential to be a great fued and great wrestlemania match. Former RKO going Toe to Toe! Nice!!

If I have the range of a few years to pick my future dream match, it would have to be Shawn Micheals vs John Morrison. Given Morrison's current rise he could become an even better draw soon! If Shawn is still around, I think this could be a good pass the torch "I'm the new/better showstopper" (Morrison) story line. I know there can be only one showstopper and thats shawn (Just like I know there can be only one Rick Flair) but morrison can one day develop his own persona like the showstopper make it his own. I'm not saying copy shawn, but have his own version, which he has started now with the palace of wisdom doors gimmick.

In summation to me that would be a great fued! One that I hope could make it into the history books. They both are great in ring workers, and Morrison would benefit 100% from a WM match rub from Shawn. And Shawn can continue to solidify why he is one of the greats!

The first thing that came into my mind was Jericho vs the Undertaker. Taker should retire at Mania and claim Jericho as his final soul. He could also do that with Cena.

I may be thinking outside the box right now but for it to be a dream match then it would be better if it was someone from another promotion comming into a new one like Flair and Hogan when they had the match while flair was still holding the NWA title. On this train of thought - Sting vs Undertaker would be a match of a lifetime. Sting could also have a classic against HBK or HHH. Sting would have to lose to Taker but I would like to see him go over on either of the dx guys. Another guy to make the jump and have a classic would be AJ Styles if he picks up a couple more TNA titles along the way and fights Edge or Orton.

How bout Lesnar vs Lashley in a hell in a cell match.
Two monsters one outcome, what was it that Tina Turner said in Mad Max Beyond ThunderDome? Two men enter One man leaves!!
No scripted outcome, just lock these two big ass bastards in there and have go till one man is knocked completely out.
That is one of my Dream Matches

Far fetched...Not I'm not as much of a WWE fan like I use to, so a dream match now isn;t like say a Hogan vs Warrior rematch was a dream match for all of the 90s, or like Hogan vs Piper at Starrcade 96 was a dream match, even Sting vs Hogan at Starrcade 97.

So something I can look farward as a per say dream match down the road would be something like Randy Orton the vet and top guy in the company vs Cody Rhodes vs Ted Jr. I'm sure years from now Ted and Cody will both be headliners good enough to headline a Wrestlemania. SO I'm sure that would be a good one, long as the Legacy group builds over the next year or so.

Well I'm waiting for a Jericho vs Taker main event at SummerSlam, because these two are legit main eventers who have never faced one on one even though they have at the company for so damn long.

Another match I'm looking forward is Punk (as a heel) vs Taker, Punk has really benn upping his game since he was drafted to SD!, even though he is still a tweener, its obvious that he'll turn heel soon, a Punk vs Taker match could give Punk the rub he needs and elevate him to be truly considered as a big time player in the WWE because a win against Taker for Punk will give him a push he needs to cement himself as the company's top heel, espcially since Edge is on the sidelines now.

If Jeff Hardy was to continue with WWE, I'd like to see him go with Jericho, these two faced recently on SD! but it was short and not a feud, the last time these two feuded was at 2003 before No Way Out, a feud was teased before WM24 between these two where the original plan was for Jeff to win the MITB and then Jericho challenges him to a title vs briefcase match leading to some series of matches between the two, but we all know what happened and how Jeff screwed up and failed the drug test, I feel now is the right time to make Jericho loses the tag team strap and feud with Jeff.

CM Punk vs Mysterio is cool, we saw how these two can deliever a good match at Armageddon, now we have seen them fighting, we want to see them FEUDING.

Another match is Jericho vs Morrison, as they showed us previously on Superstars few months ago that they have the chemistry to deliver a fast paced match from the start to the end and it'd be fun to watch and a feud that will elevate Morrison to the main event status and make him a valuable world championship contender in the fans' eyes.

Christian should also go to SD! where he'll have plenty of opponents to face and either as a heel or as a face here is a list of superstars where new feuds will be created if Captain Charisma was to go to SD!:
as a face Christian will face:
Jericho - Ok this was done before but 2004 is way too ling ago and most of the fans today weren't fans back then, plus here the roles will be reversed, Christian will be the face will Jericho will be the heel, and as proved before the feuds and matches between these two are nothing short of amazing.

CM Punk - This is something that wasnot done before and a feud between these two will be great, both have mic skills and technical skills on the mic that their feud and matches will defenitly work and produce some great TV.

Dolph Ziggler - This should be great as Dolph and Christian have some commons, the way Dolph acts is like how Christian acted at the time between 2003-2004, they both have great mic skills and Dolph will gain a lot from the experience Christian posses.

on the other hand as a heel we may see him face:

The Undertaker - same as Jericho vs Taker, Christian vs Taker will be great TV and a lot of fun to watch and beating the UT for Christian will be a great complement to raise Christian to be a WHC threat.

John Morrison - Same as Dolph Ziggler but with reversed roles, Morrison is acting like how Christian was acting in his final WWE days and early TNA days, and Christian may play the role of the one who uses his experience to win the matches

Rey Mysterio - This will be a fast paced feud that'll leave you saying what's next? much like the recent Mysterio vs Jericho feud which was nothing short of amazing.

With Matt also returning few weeks from now, it is easy to say it'll be better to have Matt return as a heel where he'll have the chance to feud with the Undertaker or Mysterio or Morrison just like a heel Christian, all of which are new feuds which we haven't seen before.

The future really looks green on SD! while on RAW, it really looks very dark, that when I even thought about making new matches, I failed pretty hard to find any, I mean they may elevate MVP,Swagger,Kofi and Bourne but until they book them the right way they won't be taken seriously at all, Orton is the only strong heel while the Big Show is hanging there doing nothing since he has done everything there is to be done with the maineventers, now it is time to see him get it out with someone like MVP or Kofi (they are building it right now, but Show needs to win, it won't look real if it goes the other way) and we've seen RKO and Cena and HHH face each other countless time, I'm waiting passionatly for HBK's retun, at least when he is on the show, I remeber the match Shawn had because quite frankly he never performs below expectations.

What about Jeff Hardy v Cena.

I wouldn't really mind this, it could be decent. However we'd need Cena to turn heel for it to be good. Another option might be to have Rey Mysterio v Edge, I don't recall that being done before. Maybe Orton v Jericho as well that could be pretty sick if both are on a roll.

I see that the jericho/undertaker idea is getting a lot of attention but one fued i think could be excellent if booked properly is cm punk and the undertaker. With the kind of pushes punk has been getting and his being relatively new to the main event picture (i.e. we havent seen him get title shot after title shot for the last 5-6 years) he could be seen as a potential threat to the streak of the undertaker, especially i think as a way to swerve us the internet wrestling fans as to whether the streak would be broken or not, as they are seemingly desperate for a way to get punk over. What better way to do that than to have him beat the streak? it won't happen but the possibility would make for an exciting storyline

the new hbk/hart would be cena/mvp
cena the vet that has been fan fav most of his career plays for the youth and tries to be as sportsman as possible
mvp the rose that grew from concrete showing how a kid can change from the slums.
another great iron man match would be accumulated. or better yet picture this. a cage that after about 9ft it shapes up like a pyramid the winner must climb to the top to retrieve the belt. ascention to destiny could be the title

I still want to see Sting/HBK that is my hogan/flair

HhH/batista in a wwe career match the loser jumpin to tna and fueding with morgan.

styles/jericho would be my last one. styles reminds me of jericho in wcw and that would be the shit to watch

CM Punk vs. HHH for the right to use the Pepsi Plunge, dead serious think about it the Pepsi Plunge is one of the main reasons Punk is a so called "Kenta ripoff" he had to change his finisher, and submissions are boring to the PG audience, so he couldn't use the anaconda vice ,which leads to the GTS, which I am fine with but, the Pepsi Plunge is just better than the GTS, or any other non shooting star press finisher for that matter.
others
Ziggler vs Taker
Hart Dynasty vs. Rated Y2J
Sheamus vs. Swagger

For my money, there are two.

1) John Cena vs. Hulk Hogan - Even at Hogan's advanced age, I think if he could move in the ring at all, this match could be epic, and blow the fucking roof of an arena. Two incredible workers going head to head, with Cena, of course, getting the clean victory, Hogan passing the torch for the fourth and final time, this time to someone who is worthy of it, and plans to make something of it (unlike Warrior, Goldberg and Rock).

2 Hulk Hogan vs. Steve Austin - I dare say I need not say more.

CM Punk vs. HHH for the right to use the Pepsi Plunge dead serious think about teh Pepsi Plunge is one of teh main reasons Punk is a so called "Kenta ripoff" he had to change his finisher and submissions are boring to the PG audience so he couldn't use teh anaconda vice which leads to the GTS which I am fine with but the Pepsi Plunge is just better than the GTS, or any other non shooting star press finisher for that matter.
This would be silly. Punk doesn't even want to use the Pepsi Plunge, he quit using it before he ever signed with the WWE. It does too much damage to his knees...plus looks completely ridiculous and phony.

one dream match which i'm predicting will happen at that HITC PPV will be Taker vs Punk in the Cell, very reminiscent to HBK Taker HITC, with Punk bleeding throughout most of it
that will be the one match that will solidify Punk has a main event for good

What a silly question to ask... & its an actual thread!?! Really? I can see where you can be concerned seeing how the WWE is in a slump at the moment but they are working themselves out of it & I'm impressed. They just need RAW to get up to speed.

To answer your question, if the WWE invests in their superstars correctly by acquiring the right guys & building them up the right way... then dream matches will always exist my friend. And these matches will one day occur. Only the dream matches involving past or veteran superstars maybe harder to pull off due to time restraints but thats it.

This new Yoshi Tatsu guy can be used to have many upon many dream matches in his career... as long as he & WWE build together. Tatsu has Evan Bourne, Mysterio, Jimmy Wang Yang & Kung Fu Naki for a starts. Shelton Benjamin & him seem to be pretty okay at the moment.

Just have to wait & see...

(EDIT: Anyone realise how many diva dream matches can occur of the next couple of years with their roster??? Beth, Mickie, Maryse, G.Kim, Maryse, McCool, Burchill, Melina... possibly Kelly & Torres. MY GOD WWE, LISTEN TO THE WOMEN FOR ONCE)

If you add in people that have retired or left the business:

Cena/Hogan
Cena/Austin
Cena/Rock
Hogan/Austin
HBK/Rock

If you go with just the roster that we have now, there are some feuds that haven't happened yet, and may not necessarily be considered a "dream match" on par with those above, but they still could be pretty big, if given the proper build.

Taker/Jericho - Self-explanatory.

Taker/Punk - I think it would flop, but it hasn't been done.

Taker/Cena - Self-explanatory.

Morrison/Miz - These two could be the new HBK/HHH in that they feud with each other, team up, feud, team up, etc.

Morrison/Undertaker - Would be cool.

Edge/Orton - Edge would have to be face, though.

Etc. None of them really are on par with the Austin/Hogan type matches, but really, nothing COULD be. But who knows. A lot changes in a year.

Call me a hopeless fan but there is one match that i hope does happen before they both retire from active wrestling for good is the only match i wish happened during the invasion angle

Sting vs Taker

If by some chance the WWE ever comes to terms and agrees to a contract that Sting would be willing to work with this match could be great. They are both getting towards the end of their respective careers and if this does not happen within the next two years it likely never will be to me this is a match i always wanted to see.

Two guys with so many similarities
Both like to play mind games
Both are well respected in their respective locker rooms.
Some could say Sting was WWE's Undertaker. Will many people were jumping back and forth these two stayed loyal to their respective companies threw the good and bad times.

This match to me has the potential to be one of the biggest matches ever to anyone who followed wwe and wcw durings it monday night wars

Cena/Morrison - Two cool personalities fighting it out.
Cena/Christian - Only if Christian went back to his cocky/funny persona.
Edge/Orton - At a WrestleMania.
Cena/Orton - Hasn't been done the way it should be yet.
Morrison/Miz - The new HBK/HHH.

theres a few that could happen

cena/rock for the obvious reasons

rock/hbk - to my knowledge they've never had a match against each other, 2 of the biggest stars ever in the wwe, the showstoppa vs the peoples champion, just think of the promos and build up this could have, has major potential to be AWESOME

austin/hogan - its rumored on and off again constantly and imo will never ever happen, but id love to see austin open up one final can of whoop ass on hogan (a wrestler i simply dont like), it wouldnt be the most technical match or anything, but itd be awesome to see regardless of how rusty they both probably are

undertaker/sting - should happen at wrestlemania, two legends who can still go in the ring, would love to see it

I think that I can narrow it down to two.

First of all, I would love to see Jericho and Taker. I think this may happen at next Mania. Jericho just fought the legends this year, and is still on his attack against the fans. The fans love Taker, so it seems as if this is where they are heading. Both of these men have been with company for quite some time, and I do not ever remember these two going one on one. Jericho's technical skill against Taker's striking ability would be an interesting match up, and one I want to see.

I think that the Mania main event for the next decade should be Swagger vs. Morrison. John Morrison looks so happy to have the people cheer him. I think he works well as a cocky face. You can see bits of the Rock in him. The people loved hearing the Rock talk about his strudel. Morrison seems to have that same charisma where he can be cocky and people still love him. His cockiness would serve him well in a feud with Swagger. Swagger's arrogance seems a bit forced, and Morrison could run with that. The mic work would be very entertaining. The ring work would be better. Swagger is a great technician. Morrison is as well. Swagger's striking ability would be nullified by Morrison's athleticism. Morrison's athleticism would be nullified by Swagger's quickness. Both men seem to have the answers for the other's strength, and the ability to exploit the other's weakness.

Honestly one I wish that could be seen today (but due to his age getting up there and lack of interest in wrestling now-a-days) would be Savage vs. Triple H. Think about the styles Macho Man is the perfectionist, he is the one who made Triple H's style of wrestling, they both like to do everything to a tee, its like each others alter egos Superman vs. Bizzaro Superman.

Another one that comes to mind would be RVD vs. Evan Bourne or Kofi. Again we see three people with the exact same style. All of which are unorthodox and I am sure Kofi has mirrored some of his style to RVD where Bourne being a flyer has a mix of Kidman, Rey, Sabu, Juvi, Super Crazy

Another one that could be great since we are on a brother vs. brother kick would be Goldust vs. Cody Rhodes. I mean really think about it, his brother has the experience and the accolades, and if he gets a semi push in ECW it would be the thing that could help break away Cody Rhodes when he is ready to step out of Orton's shadow.

Last one that comes to mind would be Kidd vs. HBK, I say this one because it could be the feud to rehash the montreal screw job and give it full closure. Imagine they do one more event in Montreal Tyson Kidd with the Hart Dynasty and HBK maybe with Triple H, crowd is anti HBK pro Tyson, and we see a double down with a ref bump. DH Smith tries to interfere but to no avail with Triple H fighting off DH Smith, no one is left out there when suddenly the original Hart Foundation music hits, Bret comes walking down the ramp HBK gets up face to face with the Hitman for the first time in 12 years. Hitman tells HBK paybacks a bitch, knocks HBK on his ass and applies the Sharpshooter while HBK passes out and Kidd picks up the win.

Yeah I know that last one is unlikely to happen, but you never know anymore...

As brought out before, the only dream match we got left sadly is The Rock vs (disgusted look on my face......... then i vomit) John Cena. But i can't think of one match i wanna see so i'll just make a card i'd love to see

Michelle McCool vs Trish Stratus
R-Truth vs Shelton Benjamin vs Kofi Kingston vs MVP
Edge (Face) vs Jericho (coming in 2010 YaY!!!!!)
Dolph Ziggler vs John Morrison
CM Punk vs Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy
Khali vs Big Show vs Kane (In a Mysterio on a pole match hahahaha jk)
Triple H vs Undertaker
Randy Orton vs Mark Henry

I know i got weird choices but this would make me forget about the 49.99 i have to spend in order to watch a pay-per-view.

Here are just a few that I would like to see.

Jericho vs Taker Hasn't really been done yet and could ber really good.

HHH vs Taker (HIAC) Two guys that have been in more HIAC matches than anyone.

Miz vs Morrison This should happen in the future after these two have been well established.

Any combo of Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, and Shelton Benjamin (Ladder Match) Imagine the moves these guys could pull off.

Edge vs Orton Former members of Rated RKO put on one good match but no huge feud. The buildup would be awesome.

Cena vs Jack Swagger. (See above)

There are so many more I want to put in there that I never even mentioned. Plenty of dream match chances in the future and with the brand split, those dream matches will come a lot more often than you think.
