People Like Me, We Don't Play
Apocalypse draws near for the WZCW superstars and fans as we hurtle ever closer to the Pay Per View extravaganza hosted by the wonderful city of Anaheim, California. Apocalypse promises to be one hell of a show and WZCW.com is here to preview this year’s version of the event.
But before we get into the matches, we’re going to reveal to you the fantastic theme provided to us by Voodoo Vegas. We present So Unkind, the theme for Apocalypse 2011:

Now, onto the card for this exciting event:
First we deal with the Tag Team Championship situation. As we all know, several weeks ago, the rookie Stan Rogers and the veteran “Showtime” David Cougar were the victors in the #1 contender Battle Royal. They look to unseat the incumbents; The Forgotten Powers. Both teams tasted victory this past week, however, you have to wonder just how will the alliance of “Stantime” fair against the tried and tested champions?
Next, we take a look at the Mayhem scenario for this show. It’s a rematch from Redemption as the dominant champion Alex Bowen faces off against the always dangerous Action Saxton, only this time, competing in a barbed wire match. The pair have shown a mutual respect as of late, but you have to think that’ll be pushed to the sidelines as this pair look set to tear the house down with yet another brutal and bloody brawl. Only time will tell if we’re destined for a repeat of the result from Redemption though.
We move from a feud built on a mutual respect to one that is very, very personal as former tag team champions Steven Kurtesy and Steven Holmes participate in a Submissions Count Anywhere match! That means that either man can make the other submit anywhere from the ring to the locker-room to even outside the arena. It’s going to be an unforgettable match for sure as these two finally put the blood feud to rest.
John Constantine has been parading around with the Elite X Championship, essentially proclaiming himself to be champion even though he never truly beat Sam Smith for the gold. Now with Smith back and seeking revenge on the former politician, can the ever cunning Constantine actually legally obtain the coveted Elite X Championship, or will Sam Smith once again prevail in the face of evil that is Constantine?
In an issue that has spiralled out of control as of late, Baez goes toe-to-toe with the veteran Titu--I’m sorry, he goes toe-to-toe with the returning Red Mask! It’s been a good while since we saw Red Mask in action so it should be interesting to see how the superhero battles with the devious Baez in the Orange County. One would have to assume this will be a classic battle between good and evil, though it remains to be seen as to who will be triumphant.
This past week it was finally time for the legendary Steamboat Ricky to shut the mouth of the brash and cocky Baller. The basketball whiz had been proclaiming himself as a dominant force in WZCW with several “victories” over Ricky and he even managed to conquer Everest this past week, something that has seen a last minute addition to the match as Everest will be officiating as Ricky and Baller finally face off for real.
Blade has been dominating the EurAsian division as of late, retiring former champion Chris Beckford and defeating youngster King Shabba over the last few months, but a new challenger has emerged in former Mayhem and Tag Team Champion Scott Hammond. Blade has got his hands full at Apocalypse no doubt as Hammond has proven himself worthy of a shot at the gold around the champion’s waist time and time again.
How quickly things can change. Big Dave was on top of the world at Kingdom Come...or as close as he could get without actually being champion, however a string of defeats at the hands of the fallen Hunter Kravinoff has left Dave looking vulnerable, something the increasingly unstable Barbosa and the proud up and coming Wasabi Toyota will look to exploit in this three way for the golden ticket that is the King for a Day crown. However, Dave may not even feature in the match itself due to a trial in relation to the disappearance of Hunter Kravinoff, will he make the match in time? It's all up for grabs!
Ty Burna has revealed his true self as of late and has used his influence to manipulate the events of Austin Reynolds’ life over the course of the last month or so. “Showtime” David Cougar, Barbosa and Gordito have all tried and failed in unseating the champion, as has Reynolds, but the “Ratings Winner” may have a new found fire burning inside him as he looks to end the near year long reign of the master of darkness that is Ty Burna.
So folks, that’s the show, and what a show it is. We hope you enjoy what’s to come as we here at WZCW.com bid you farewell. Until Apocalypse, see you next time.
