Getting Noticed By Management
From Wikipedia...

The film has come under attack for its explicit sexuality, including the opening scene showing a toddler falling to its death while Dafoe and Gainsbourg have sex on the bed nearby. Included in the Cannes version was a graphic close-up shot of a penis entering a vagina. The film has also invited controversy for its graphic sexual violence. In one controversial scene, Gainsbourg hits Dafoe's testicles with a wooden plank so hard that it is implied they are crushed. While Dafoe is unconsicious, she *********es him until he ejaculates blood. She then drills a hole in his thigh to bolt him onto a grindstone. In a later scene, Gainsbourg cuts off her own clitoris with a pair of rusty scissors

So, who's going to see this delightful family film?

First off, we should really get this thread movies to the Movies forum. This thread warrants non-spam billing.

Secondly, I will surely be seeing it. Just the fact that it's the brilliant Lars Von Trier is directing a horror film had me sold on this movie in pre-production. When they added Willem Dafoe, I officially went into movie-geek-mode.

Meh, it could be a good movie, but the whole clitoris cutting off/ejaculating blood/testicle crushing kinda turned me off.

Clearly you're not an arthouse fan. Not to sound condescending, but are you even aware of who Werner Herzog is? Without a doubt Germany's greatest director (Fritz Lang is close) and one of the greatest art film directors of all time.

If you don't appreciate unconventional filmmaking and a more artful approach then I'd probably suggest you steer clear of this film.

No, you're completely right. I found the Wiki page while I was reading about "Up". I just thought it was kinda funny. And I'm more than likely not gonna see this movie... sounds a bit too graphic for me.

Your Mom was surprised last night. Then relieved. Then extremely satisfied.

Yep you're right. She was surprised at how high the electricity bill came. Then relieved to find out that it was what she paid last month for and not this months bill. And then she was extremely satisfied that this month's bill was much lower.

I must be pretty stoned because I've thus far mistaken actors in Manhunter and now directors for Antichrist.

I just got done watching the Bad Lieutenant remake so Werner Herzog must've been on my mind, when infact Lars Von Trier directs this.
