I have been doing some of my usual surfing toay, and accidentally came across a few articles concerning Scream 4 being in the works. Being an original Scream trilogy fan this somewhat concerns me. The first 3 movies were a well writen set of stories that played out wonderfully and everything was explained and they actually had plot, which is more than I can say about other Slasher/Horror flicks from then or earlier. The only problem I had was that they killed Randy(Damn them all to hell).
Now here they are, a decade after the last movie and Kevin Williamson has a script and story just about ready to start filming. Wes Craven is also on board along with Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courtney Cox Arquette are all onboard.
My question for all of you is this...do you really think Williamson can give us the same expectations from a new trilogy with the same characters? I am extremely skeptical of this move from him being that back when 3 was released hew stated he would not make a 4th unless he changed characters among other things.
Next, what can you see Williamson and Craven coming up with to want us to see this new trilogy and keep us intrigued enough to watch all 3.
I am truelly hoping that they don't ruin the first trilogy's legacy by fucking up with new plans of expanding the series.
