Angle Too Small For WWE?

Slightly Autistic
Although the talks only appear to be very preliminary, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Kurt Angle's name has been brought up within WWE and it appears the company could be making a play to bring him back later this year.

Angle, who turns 41 this December, could be faced with a big decision if he is approached by WWE about a return. His wife Karen was said to be a major force behind him leaving WWE and now she is no longer a factor with the two splitting up recently. The negative is that Angle is still pretty banged up and is much smaller than when he left WWE in 2006.

While many feel his size could work against him, the belief is that WWE would give him an easier schedule and he would make more money. Angle has dropped a ton of weight in the last couple years, and tells friends he is much more comfortable this way. The plus to staying with TNA is that he is always guaranteed a top spot, his size will never be an issue and even if WWE offers him an easier schedule it will never be as easy on him physically as the TNA schedule is. The general opinion on Angle is that the smartest thing he could do is stay in TNA, but Angle's career is also coming to a close and the possibility of an increase in pay becomes even more important at that stage of his career.

Of course not, I just couldn't think of a title. If HBK isn't too small the superior Kurt Angle won't be.

He'll only come back if WWE don't think he's going to die on them. Although he'll probably die once WWE ask him to do a couple of extra dates per week.

hey jake, are we doing a whole fantasy universe thing where this is true? Does the Undertaker really bury people alive? Did Vickie really marry Edge? Is Shelton Benjamin over purely because of his ring work? Is TNA good?

and Superior? Doubt it. Shawn has more hair. Although probably not for long.

True that.

Angle too small? Look at the size of Angle when he first joined

Back then he was alot smaller than he was when he left WWE and the way he is TNA now. That's quite ridiculous. He's not Christian (though he's right for his size) or Evan Bourne small!

In short, it's not the size, it's what you do with it

HAHA great post mantaur,

yeh i hope Kurt doesent go back to wwe lets be honest WWE dont need him, he is one of the most anoying people on TNA, in every rivalry all he saids is IM GONNA END YOUR CAREER BLA BLA BLA, after kurt saying that 52 times and never actully doing it, it's lost all meening

I agree, his size means nothing. He may be bit smaller, but he's still quite strong and can throw just about anyone around in that ring. I find his smaller size an advantage because he's actually much faster than he was before.

The real issue is if Kurt's body can handle the WWE schedule. He seems really beaten down, even in TNA. The last thing we need is Angle wrestling himself to death.

He seems real beaten down? are we watching the same show? kurt angle has never looked better. of course i dont know what's going on with him physically, but his performances are always top notch.

as far as the schedule, he's said time and time again that his schedule isnt as light as people would think. he's at every taping and every house show tna has. sure they dont have as many house shows at tna as they do with the wwe, but to be at every single one (4 days out of the week) is still pretty hard.

I'm sure angle will make the switch to wwe, and he'll be used sparingly but still be one of the top guys.

WWE would be salivating all over themselves to get Angel back. He's an excellent performer and would be a great defense to Orton/Edge/Jehrico's great heel roles right now. But WWE will bring him and as usual misuse him like they have Christian.

It doesn't matter about his size. Angle will still draw money, and that's all that matters. It's Kurt Angle! He's a star, we all remember Kurt Angle.

And WWE knows that.

I believe Kurt should end his career in WWE because he started it there..and because I would want to see his retirement match and I don't watch TNA, but that's a different story. I say Kurt should END his career in WWE, and because I don't want to read another headline about another wrestler dying at a relatively young age, I don't think I'd pressure Kurt to work for WWE--for a full run. It may get tough on him, but I wouldn't know. I would LIKE to see Angle have one last run in WWE and retire there, but not if it means he's going to cut a few more years off his already short life expectancy.

However, if he did have one last run..what would WWE do with him? In 06' they totally ran out of stuff for Kurt Angle, and had him run vignettes insulting US troops..well, I guess he did have a WHC run after that..but still.

the guy needs to retire. not tomorrow, not after his tna contract is up, NOW!!! just one kink (however you spell it) in his neck and bam! dead! no more kurt angle. he has nothing left to prove. the only thing he's proving now is that he has a death wish and is to stubborn to walk away. he keeps in real good shape, but the neck, keep coming back to the neck. seeing kurt die on live tv would really suck.

He would be a good coup for Vince, If he can convince Kurt to rejoin the company that nearly ran him into the ground. If he did join I don't think he would go straight into the main event. He would need a solid fued to ld some momentum.

I doubt Kurt will come back, the guy is happy being in his big fish in small pond role over in TNA, he has more pull over there, if he goes over to the wwe again he will probably end up dead emptying his own bowls.

TNA is the best place for him at this time and if he does come back he will only do so if they make it worth his while (more money less hours), the fact that the wwe is even considering him is because they may need more star power on raw and overloading that brand will kill angles chances of eveer making a splash and keeping the wwe title around his waste for years to come

Kurt Angle will kill himself if he goes back to WWE, I think he still might on TNA. It only takes a bit of a knock for him to be back on the pain killers, and then he is fucked. Completely. At his age and with the injuries he has had a schedule like the WWE's is a bad idea. If he wants to quit the ring, he'd make a decent GM again, better than Tiffany anyway, but I don't think it'd be in his interest and it is far too risky for the WWE.

HAHA great post mantaur,

Its funny cause after its all said and done, he might end his own career LOL

but in all seriousness, I agree Angle is one stubborn dude..he's proving to himself that he still got it..good thing his wife finally realized this man's huge ego..his wife got the picture, but he still doesnt realize hes not superman..Angle, think about your kids and less about yourself..the only thing u need to prove is if you're gonna live to see your kids get married! Retire, already...save that strength to lift your grandchildren!

I have a feeling he will sign with WWE when his TNA contract expires. He probably shouldn't but i think he will.

He probably has the feeling of only 1 year left, 2 max. He could demand a lighter schedule and get paid more in WWE. He would also get to retire on the bigger stage and possibly have one more Wrestlemania. I think he would like to retire with the WWE even if it did end badly when he left.

Another thing for WWE is that Angle will draw, everyone still knows and remembers him so he would have no trouble stepping straight into a main fued. I also like the idea of him being a GM in the future but i doubt he'd do it. I personally would love to see him on WWE TV again but hopefully he retires soon, his neck may just kill him any day now. BUT if he is to keep wrestling i would love it to be back on WWE again, the man is a king and will always be in my top 5 wrestler/entertainers past, present and future.

Like someone previously posted: Kurt Angle has NOTHING left to prove. He's done everything there is to do in wrestling. He's had an outstanding career in the Sports-Entertainment industry and in wrestling in general. I honestly don't know why he wouldn't retire unless he has Brett Favre syndrome and LOVESSS the game so much. If Kurt Angle happens to return to the WWE, he should definitely stay the size he is, definitely get a reduced schedule and be allowed a lot more freedom to do what he wants because personally in my opinion, he'd be doing WWE more good then they do him. He doesn't need to go to WWE AT ALL.

size should never be discussed when it comes to what a wrestler or an athlete is capable of(especially in a steroid-riddled sport), its all heart, and we all know what Kurt Angle is capable of.

PITTSBURGH :)

Well Personally Im not a huge Kurt Angle Fan. But he would be a great addition to anyones roster. One of the best Technical, if not the best technical wrestler in the business, and would be great. Of Course, WWE's Schedule, is more active than TNA's, and as Angles is although ahs a better shcedule in TNA, he is Still very busy, due to him being probably, the top heel in TNA. Obviously, Financially it would be a better option to go to WWE.

I wouldnt mind seeing him go into matches with Undertaker, Kane, Batista, HBK, Jack Swagger, HHH, Orton and so on....and yeah, he has facd some of these before, but would be interesting, as he hasnt been in WWE for nearly 3 years.

I'm about 80% certain we'll see an Angle return by the end of the year. I don't think he's that happy in TNA. I think he's probably just realising how deluded he's been. I dunno, this is just conjecture.

As for his size; I think he's just trying to get into MMA shape. I hope he never does MMA - it's way too late for him. Still, he's still pretty strong for his size. Seeing him live at the start of the year, I can tell you that he's as good as he's ever been.

If Angle does return to WWE, i'm sure it will be a much lighter schedule. Since This guy doesn't believe in taking a break (atleast a year off) a lighter schedule would suit him perfect. But i'd rather see him take a long break, because i'm sure he needs it. Hopefully he has a bright future ahead of him and doesn't end up DEAD.
