An injury to kane...can turn out really good or really bad

I've been thinking about this a lot and my question is when is the last time kane has had an injury? Well the answer is, back in 2002. Kane suffered an injury to his upper arm, I think it was to his biceps or triceps on his right arm. This caused kane to take time off for a bit and when he returned, his mask changed from his original one that covered his face to the half masked one which exposed his lips and facial hair.
Back to my point. Kane hasn't had a long break since that injury so a future injury could in my opinion turn out to become a good thing or a really bad one. Lets start of with the good situation.
If kane suffered an injury, lets say to his right arm again, this would lead kane into rehad which means that he would need to participate in a strict program in order for him to recover. For an athelete, especially musuclar ones, a rehab means exercising a lot and gradually becoming more fitter. Now this could benefit kane as he could lose a lot of his fat that he holds at the moment and make a lot faster and fitter depending on how long the rehab process is. Plus he would have more time with his family and friends. This would bring him back refreshed and raring to go.
However, an injury could also turn out really bad for kane. For if the injury is quite serious and he would need to be out for over 6-9 months, Glen Jacobs may decide to retire early and that would be the end of kane. Which would be a real tragedy. With that in mind I hope kane decides in his own terms to become fitter and when to retire without any injury related infulences. What do you guys think?

I'd never advocate that someone needs to be injured for real. However, an injury angle where Kane ends up being off tv for about 3-4 months would be good for him. Let a young heel(s), maybe Priceless, put Kane on the shelf by "breaking his leg" or something like that. Then when he comes back, he can become the psychotic Kane that we all love to see where he just goes on a rampage hurting everyone in sight on his path to revenge.

Hope I don't offend, but I would not mind Kane getting hurt and never coming back. I still don't see what you all see in this guy? HE IS TERRIBLE! He can't cut a promo, there is nothing special about his in ring work, he has not had a interesting angle since he 1st came in, & no one knows or cares if he is a face or heel. I will say it again. Kane\Undertaker is a Nailz\Bossman gimmic that has went 10-12 years too long!

I agree. to an extent. Kane is terrible. Glen Jacobs is not..Kane is one of WWE's greatest created gimmicks..whoever created this earns a star cause he was a pioneer for future gimmicks such as TNA's Abyss..

The main problem with Kane was the fact that his mask was taken off..now he's just another ugly monster..that mask had a lot of significence before..it was cool when Kane went psychotic after that, but now's he's very stale..

I wouldn't mind if Kane took some time off, and started using face paint in his return..Honestly why didnt they do that to begin with..if the mask was a big breathing issue (which I could see it is) why didnt they go with facepaint?

So as you can see, the character Kane is stale but Glenn's got a lot of talent..hopefully he gets one more thankyou title reign..

Kane is, bar none, the best big man wrestling a big man style in the business today. There are very few big men in history that can hang with him.

Kane's issue is not the person. Glen Jacobs does a great job with what he's given. The issue is that the WWE has completely worn down the gimmick and the character's credibility.

I certainly hope that he does not suffer a legitimate injury. However, a storyline injury could be exactly what the doctor ordered. Take him off TV for 3 months. When he comes back, have him revitalized. A gimmick change would make all the difference, even if it's something minor.

His last injury did wonders for him. He was out for months. His return was hyped and teased for at least a month. He came back with a new look, new mask, slimmed down, probably in the best shape of his life and he became the most over face on Raw, easily, hands down. He had ridiculous momentum. He defeated WWE's most hated faction at Unforgiven, went on to win the World Tag Team Championship, and then went on to beat Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Championship, he became #1 contender, and won arguably one of the best matches in Raw history in the tag team ladder match. The stage was set for Kane to win, and then HHH happened. HHH had to go over and kill Kane's momentum.

If he was injured today, maybe something similar would happen. Heck, if he was out for a while, it probably would. He'd probably get a pretty big sized push since he is Kane. The issue would be, would he be willing to take gold, and if he was, would someone like HHH come along to crush all his momentum again?

I guess it could have benefits for him. But remember, it's an injury that you're talking about. It has no benefits for his body at all. So, anyway. If he took some time off ect, say about 3 - 4 months because of a small injury.. he would get hyped to hell upon his return. A monster push, and perhaps a world title unless HHH is on the same show. It would be good for him to lose a few pounds, get back in better shape. He's not exactly fat, but for health reasons losing a bit might help him out in the ring.

I understand the viewpoints, but I do think that an injury at this point in kane's career would only stop his career. I'd say he plans to retire after a few more years...ore less. As far as invigorating his character, I think he should bring the mask back (any variation). He could bring it down to the ring with him, walk up the steps, step through the ropes, put on the mask and go BERZERK! After he wins the match, he takes the mask off and can be "normal" again.

Agent-67, you are a jerk. Just because you don't like somebody, you would actually like to see them injured? There are a lot of people, not just in wrestling, but in NHL, Rugby, and a number of other sports and professions who I can't I can't stand the sight of. But I would NEVER, EVER wish an injury on them. Grow up, and just wait a few years, because he'll be retired by then. idiot.

If you look at the amount of times undertaker has been hyped after an injury or a break from wrestling and the crowd reaction during his return matches, you will see that taker has become even better in the ring. For example, a few years ago, taker suffered an injury in which a storyline was made for mark henry to take him out, but when he returned during a ppv event (I think it was no mercy) he was able to get the crowd hyped up even more than usual. So I believe kane would receive the same treatment, especially if a storyline is made in which kane return's with a new mask would send the crowd bizerk. All I really want to see is a fitter and faster looking kane in the ring. I don't want him to legitimately become injured but who knows, as the title states in this thread, things could turn out to become better for kane if an injury (legitimate or storyline wise) was to take place.

alot of people are really bored with kane....im a huge kane fan and i dont look forward to seein him on raw as he alwayz ends up gettin beat....everyone knows hes not gettin any younger and that hes not had any time off for the past 5-6 years so the wwe should say to him go spend time with ur famil friends get in shape have a rest and cover this with a mean storyline....like someone sed maybe priceless injuring him out for about 3-4 months and they start with the promos again but masked kane is coming back.....the hype would be fuckin crazy everyone would go mad this his old theme song blaring at a pay per view or something

I am also a Kane fan but he has grown stale. I think he should get taken out by a young up -and-comer so he can come back after a significant amount of time and return to the old Kane. I would also build up his return like crazy so he could have a match with whoever took him out on a ppv. Then after a while turn him heel and build him up more so he could be a believable world title contender.

It's really funny that most of us want to see kane back with his mask however, the wwe don't seem to take into account of this.

No to the mask
I have always felt that Kane is scarier without the mask!
What does putting the mask back on do? will any of us forget the million years of jobbing Kane has done?

Kane has and always will be main event material... They just need to quit jobbing him out!

You know...I have to agree. It would be a step in the wrong direction, of course, if the injury was serious enough that he'd consider retiring. But although it's mean to wish the pain of an injury and subsequent trials and tribulations on someone, I think a 5 month break could really help Jacobs a lot.

As stated above, he would return in better shape, most likely in a better mindset (which would help him put more into his matches) and the fans wouldn't have seen him in a while, so he would come back to a better reaction than what he gets now. Plus, it would be the perfect method to have him change something about himself. Not necessarily the mask and singlet (though I'd prefer to have him wear them again), but something, you know?

Things might change now (although it is unlikely!) as he's moved over to Smackdown; Might we see the reformation of the Brothers of Destruction?

Everyone keeps complaining about kane being a jobber and letting the younger talent beat him, most people blame WWE for this now im not a fan of the PG era but Glen Jacobs insistis on pushing the young "future " talent fo WWE Vince + the creative team want to push him but he wants the future to be secure for the company that earns him a living. :)

Or we might see a taker/kane feud.

i think their both to old now tbh and the fact that theyve done it so many times be4 its just not funny !

However you do have a very good point in that they cud turn kane heel and go into the physco monster again but to old anyway soz
