Leon: “I’m Leon Kensworth backstage at WZCW All Stars; my special guest at this time is Austin Reynolds!”
We see The Ratings Winner back in WZCW for the first time in forever. Austin looks physically well although there is a hint of a faraway look in his eyes.
Leon: “Austin, you are one of the greatest ever to grace WZCW. A great Elite X champion, a mentor to Ricky Runn. You’re now back for one more match against Justin Cooper. You must be excited.”
Austin: “Excited doesn’t even cover it Leon. I’ve made a miraculous recovery from a neck injury, it shouldn’t be possible for me to compete here but winning here tonight at Kingdom Come VI against David Cougar for the World Heavyweight Championship; that would be the ultimate career highlight and it will rightfully go down in history.”
Leon’s face drops as Austin makes a huge mistake. He looks at his cameraman and shakes his head. Austin looks impressed with the start to the interview while Leon is disturbed. He reaches across to Austin and puts a hand on his shoulder.
Leon: “Err, That’s not right Austin. Are you sure you’re ok?”
Austin: “Sure...umm, my bad. Let’s do this again. Same question?”
Leon nods and the cameraman raises his camera to focus on Austin again.
Austin: “I am the shining light in the darkness that is brought on by Chaos. I will cleanse WZCW of his oppression. I will beat Ty Burna here tonight.”
Leon sighs loudly, the cameraman lowers his camera.
Leon: “Austin, look at me buddy? Are you sure you’re OK?”
Austin’s faraway look is now crystal clear. The blankness now envelops his face.
Leon: “Austin, this is for All Stars 3. You’re facing Justin Cooper?”
Austin: “Who?”
Leon raises his hands in exasperation. The cameraman mumbles some obscenities and walks off.
Leon: “The Aussie?”
Austin: “Kurtesy?”
Leon: “God no. Cooper’s nowhere near that good.”
Austin: “Who is he then?”
Leon: “Well he was a singer but he failed at that. He tried to be a cult leader and a leader of a Australian right wing group but both of those failed as well. He tried to be a little bit crazy and that kind of worked for like a month but now he’s kind of a loner.”
Austin: “A floater?”
Leon: “A loner!”
Austin: “What are you trying to say?”
Reynolds has a genuinely quizzical look on his face.
Leon: “I’m trying to say that you have to fight Justin Cooper!”
Austin: “And he’s going over?”
Leon: “Why do you assume that?”
Austin: “That’s what I do, right?”
Leon: “Austin, this is different. You could actually win. I mean, he’s Australian so it’s not your most difficult challenge. Plus it’s a pretty meaningless match and nobody really cares to see it. Hell I don’t think anyone actually knows why it is happening. The people are more excited about the ponies.”
Austin: “The who-what-now?”
Leon: “Exactly. Justin Cooper has dragged you down to the opening match level, below My Little Pony, a coffee cup and something to do with Dungeons & Dragons.”
Austin: “That seems to be my level.”
Leon: “You mean his level?”
Austin: “Err, yeah. That too. Now where’s the ring Leon?”
Leon points in one direction, moving that way but Austin smiles and walks the opposite direction.
